Have you ever heard their song, Summers of our Youth? Wow! If not, I highly recommend it. Magne’s voice is so cool. The first time I heard it, I kept thinking “Is this Chris Martin? What the heck?” . Chris Martin must have learned some things from him, I swear!

They are like two different songs, IMHO. It is amazing the difference. There are even fans debating on which version they like better. I have to say I like Magne’s. It just feels vulnerable and from the heart. I feel like there is is weird thing going on where Morten is only allowed to sing in high keys and still try to reach falsettos, even though his voice is different now. It’s normal with age, not a put down. I think it would be cool to make songs he can sing to in his new voice. He had such an awesome low tones voice too, why they seemed to stop using it, I don’t know. All the songs he sings (saw the film) are in the higher pitched voice. It’s straining, has to be. It kind of also feels like they must have altered some things, I don’t know. There are others who feel like I do and others who LOVE the version with Morten, so guess it’s just opinions. I hope they put Magne’s demos on the album though, like as extras. That would be awesome. 👍🏼

@@shelld1261 I agree with you that they should use Mortens voice in lower keys in more songs. His voice is awesome, in any key. Maybe they think it should be that way because this is the a-ha sound? Just speculating.

That is a real shame. I would so buy the album if these were on it. No offense to Morten. I just prefer Magne’s voice on the songs he wrote for this. It just feels so genuine to me. His voice is so sweet and vulnerable. Ah well. I guess I will be grateful to have them on CZcams. Thanks to wonderful people like you. 🙏🏼❤️

Magne wrote one half of the songs for the new album, Pål wrote the other half. Magne recorded his songs as demo version.

That's why he is the leadsinger and and Mags and Pål do backing vocals. But you can hear hints of how this is going to sound when sung by Morten.
Ummm..this is a matter if persons opinion. I like Magne’s voice in the songs he wrote for this album. It’s so sweet and genuine, really fits the song, IMHO.
I am learning in these comments that there’s definitely a team Morten and a team Magne. Seems like team Morten wins again. 🙄😉

@@shelld1261 I'm on team a-ha and have been since Take on me. I agree with you that Morten sings well in the lower registers so maybe he should sing it the way Magne does. It is a beautiful song from 3 very talented but underrated men.
