- After spending my first 100 hours of DayZ on community vanilla servers, I decided to try out official servers to see what they're like and how long I could survive. I ended up finding an SVD and running into some action with a few other survivors. I hope you all enjoy!

Loot feels so scarce on official servers. Bases galore are stacked with it I’m sure. Love the vid BTW!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Loot definitely felt a bit more scarce than the vanilla servers I've played on it, but that did make it feel that much better to actually find some nice weapons, ammo, and gear!
Easiest way to speedrun loot on official is joining a low-med pop server, getting a pump with a couple buckshot & ratting spawn until you hear the glories M4/AK guy popping shots.
Literally over 80% of the time my kits come frm spawn after killing guys who ran back north instead of spending hours down south looting it all myself

Much appreciated!! Yeah, friendly interactions with strangers are definitely one of the best parts of DayZ! I start to get a bit wary when one person is way more geared though, which I could definitely try to work on a bit. Almost all of my team ups with strangers have happened near the coast when both parties don't have much and those always end up being the best time!

Another nicely done video! Comment - at night, throw the glow stick in the direction you want to move, but wait a bit to see if the light attracts anyone/any thing. It is server dependent (light efficacy) but it can sometimes help navigate from a → b. Question - why take the time to dissect the dead players?

Wow! Didn't know they were so rare! I'm not the biggest fan of shotguns, so I usually tend to run one full auto rifle and one sniper and ignore them unless I have nothing else! Next time I see one, I'll try running with it 👍

Yea it's super hard to survive at first, learning how to make a fishing rod helped me a lot with getting food on the coast to survive
Do you think it's worth to long term with so many cheaters? Love vanilla but always cheaters in the end...
I've been having a lot of bad luck with cheaters on official lately, I think vanilla community servers are the way to go!
100 hours my butt lol ..u know the map better then i do and ive been playing around 3000 and kos'ing a noob at the well when u couldve just went around him.
Watching DayZ for like two years before ever playing and always having izurvive up on my second monitor helps a ton with the map haha 🤣 As for the guy at the well, yeah I definitely could of tried talking to him instead, maybe I'll try that next time! The great thing about DayZ is all the different possibilities and ways the play 👍 Thanks for checking out the video
I play on official a few times during the week I encounter alot of the cheaters I try to speak to them but they are all Chinese

Are cheaters really that common in official servers? I'm a new player and I'm not really aware of these things yet
I've heard that it takes much longer for cheaters to get banned on official servers because they have to get caught by auto-detection which can take quite a while, whereas on community servers, they get reported to admins and dealt with more quickly! I'm also relatively new to the game and didn't run into any cheaters on this run, though. It was very enjoyable 👍
Yes. In EU servers EVERY SINGLE of my official characters gets killed by a cheater if I survive long enough.
I've only played on official servers, are there better ones to play on?
I enjoyed my experience on official servers and I'll definitely be playing them some more, but most of my time has been spent playing on community vanilla servers that have no mods but active communities and admins! Recently, I've enjoyed the DayOne and Dusk servers!

where did you find svd
In this video, I found one at a heli crash, but an update since then has made it so that the SVD can only be found in the toxic gas zone at Rify or Pavlovo Military Base on Chernarus!
Are official server's as bad as people say? I hear alot about cheaters
This run went pretty well for me and I didn't see any! But my friend and I did run into a hacker messing with us as fresh spawns on official last Saturday. I don't think they're so big a problem that you can't play official at all, but if you play official enough you will run into one sooner or later and it's pretty lame
@scholarcormier yeah I was wondering cause I remember getting into tarkov a few years back and being discouraged cause all I heard about were how rampant cheaters were and then I actually played and ran into like 2 cheaters over 1000 hours ☠️

@HiQualityH2O I do have the settings set pretty high, but the video file sizes are massive, my few hours of footage before editing were almost 2 TB in size 🤣

Haha, I did watch other people play the game for like 2 years on youtube before trying it out myself! So I feel like I picked up the basics pretty quickly, but there are still tons of little things I learn every day!
