- In today’s video we will be playing 18 holes at Wee Pines Mini Golf, on the Calamity Jane Course! Listen to our intro to learn more about the origin of the naming. This course is fully ADA accessible on all 18 holes. The other course named “Bullseye” is not.
Pinehurst, North Carolina is also known as the location of the very first miniature golf course in the USA built around 1919!
This mini golf course is only 5 minutes from Pinehurst No. 2, the home of the 2024 US Open Golf Tournament!

Looks like #12 needs some retro-engineering. Very pretty course otherwise. Only real drawback would appear to be lack of shade. I'm wondering how the pros handle out-of-bounds through access gaps; personally, I'm mean and consider them to be features of the course and therefore get no mercy, but that's just me. 😁

Haha. We think the water on #12 was meant only to use their course balls which are lightweight and float better. They didn’t tell us that so we used our own heavier balls that just sank.
Good question about access gaps. Most courses with access gaps have a small lip to try to stop the balls, but I think with the turf being so new & not mashed down yet there was almost nothing stopping the balls. We go back & forth on that. I’m not sure if pros play any courses with access openings.
We heard the other 18 holes are more difficult so we’re excited to try that side too!
@@NCFamilyof3 Excellent point about the weight of the golf balls; I'd forgotten you mentioned switching them out. That probably affected the likelihood of shots going out of bounds through the access gaps, too.
Btw, are you aware of any channels that promote recent pro outings? CZcams doesn't doesn't appear to offer up such things (not that I've pursued things too deeply).
I'd you are ever in the area again, Pigeon Forge has a new pirate themed course with a pirate ship on the roof and live actors instead of animatronics.
Yep, we are aware of Sky Pirates of Mermaid bay, our friends from Adventure is out there’s YT channel filmed there at the grand opening. There are 2 or 3 other new courses in PF as well, so plenty to see there!
If you know how to add them when editing, I think sound effects would be cool in your videos
Their house golf balls are lighter and will float on that waterfall hole.
Yea, I figured that out when we used the lighter balls on the 18th hole. If only the guy at the front counter had told us that when we told him we were using our own balls. 🤔
