  • “Your riding drops by 50% when you cock your rope back in the box.” - Trevor Brazile
Trevor talks about why he holds the horn in the box about 80% of the time, cocks his rope back the other 20%, and how this all affects his scoring and riding across the line to the steer. Trevor explains why the decision to hold the horn or cock it back is largely dictated by the setup.

Trevor keep doing what you are doing my brother. I don’t get to rope anymore in the pen. I’m only living it through you my friend. What ever you put on here is welcome on my part of Oklahoma. Your friend in Christ Jim Brown Durant Oklahoma

Hey Trev, we were at the CNFR in the calf roping together in 97, been awhile lol. Question, on a calf horse, do u "check" him before u throw it or do u teach yours to get a timing/pattern when you deliver that rope by their head? Got an older horse here I just bought and he has me stumped, and it's been about 9 yrs since I roped, so I'm trying to get a refresher! Thanks!

Hello Trevor, Kinda off topic. What is the widest a header should rope? 4 lane even 5 lane? Appreciate the input.

Please read Doug’s comment. With that said, I can read the title of the video and watch it without sound and still understand what’s going on. But guys and gals new to roping that wanna practice like their life depends on it may not get it.

Doug Wilson man, it’s been a process. We’re working on it and trying to keep putting out as much knowledge as we can in the process. In this one though, if TB isn’t looking at the camera, they’re just roping and showing each style. 👍🏼
