The best thing is that he’s realistic, even though he’s a vegetarian and advocates animal rights(nothing wrong with it) he never turns himself into a typical advocate that Carry’s on about political crap. He’s smart enough to know he doesn’t want to start a political argument. He’s there for a laugh and exposure

idiot abroad is one of the best tv series ever made. personal favourite scenes include karl bungee jumping from waist height and landing on his face, the scene on top of the plane - oh and the hugging room 🤣🤣🤣

That was such a good reaction. The thing about Ricky is, he can't be cancelled as he really doesn't care. Please watch everything he's done. Absolute genius of a man. From starting in the Office in the early 2000's to Afterlife. 1000% recommend.
You have to watch 'Idiot Abroad' if you liked Ricky, and 'Extras' pure comedy gold JT.
Ricky created the comedy series The Office and played the main character. He creates far more audience awkwardness in the UK series than Steve Carrell does in the US adaptation of the series

I think Derek is one of his best, most underrated shows. He's such an intelligent comedy writer and actor. Saw him last year in Leeds. He was class 👏 👌
Never noticed before but most of the crowd that ARE laughing are British.
Clearly Hollywood is not ready for unadulterated British humour. Not surprising, because to love British humour you have to be able to laugh at yourself.
You really, really have to watch "Derek" and "Afterlife". I've just watched the third series of Afterlife and the entirety of Derek (for the 4th time). Ricky is genius. He can have you bellowing with laughter one minute, then sobbing the next. Nothing has done that to me since "Scrubs". We love Ricky.
The afterlife bloopers are seriously funny as well, definitely a must watch.
Derek was dogsh*t from the 1st minute, you must have really low standards!
Extras was hilarious. Derek not so much lol.

So yes he has worked in his life and he's a very smart educated man. So shut the fuck up just because he's smarter than you and you don't like dark humour don't mean you can talk shit about him. As much as Ricky says he didn't give a sh!t I'm quite sure deep inside he must've been thinking "WTF am I doing? Am I killing my career?" But he did it anyway and good for him! Balls of steel and a great comedic mind.
I went to a gig in Leeds last year. This is tame compared to his live shows. He was so funny but you have to have a certain sense of humour to enjoy it 😄

You could maybe watch the previous 4 appearances, but he really pulled out the stops on this one. His stand up routines are pretty hard hitting, and After Life (3 series) on Netflix is great, funny and sad simultaneously.

Not only is Ricky a comedian he is also a terrific actor. If you get the chance, check out After Life and Derek on Netflix, absolutely incredible performances from him and the rest of the cast.
Ricky Gervais came to most peoples attention through the original version of 'The Office'. If you want to check out more of his work, I would suggest starting there.

I think you should react to his series 'afterlife' it's a dark comedy but it's emotional at the same time. There's 3 seasons in total. I know it might be hard to do that on CZcams but some other reactors have pulled it off with no issues. It's a masterpiece.
Ricky Gervais is brilliant and so honest. He knows he has a certain reach by being a "celebrity" (I'm sure he'd hate to be call that) but he realises it's not a platform to preach from. You should definitely check out his stand up for reactions, but also some of his interviews so you can see the kind of person he is away from his comedy.
Read the interviews with people like Robin Ince, or ask yourself why Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington avoid him like the plague, and you'll have a far better idea of the sort of person he is!

I went to see him in Leeds last year recording some material for his upcoming Netflix show: "Super Nature". He was brilliant 👏 It's the first time I've ever been to a famous comedian's big gig, I wasn't disappointed. I laughed for nearly an hour and a half. He had a can of Fosters then. One of the worst beers in the world along with Carling.
