you're gonna scratch those nonstick pans up with those metal spatulas. use plastic spatulas like smith's
It's not a real pancake without bits of teflon and melted plastic
& not just ruin the pans. You'll get teflon in the pancakes, which is a recognized carcinogen.
+eli schwanitz At the risk of making a serious point on a Hat Films video, so are the chemicals that leech out of any plastic cooking utensils into your food as an inevitable result of being exposed to high temperature oil etc. You're actually better off with stainless steel pans and spatulas.
