My name is Phylicia Joy Kloes. Iâm a 90âs woman who was born in the Netherlands. After graduating high school in 2011, I lived in Florida where I learned that borders are men made and grew my understanding of what âhomeâ meant to me. In 2013, I started to share my journey online as I decided to go to college in the United States.
A couple years later, my English improved, a teaching job was realized, and I kept capturing life as this vlogging hobby grew my interests. Currently, this channel is used to post weekly bits and pieces of my life which I've categorized the following: vlogs, creations, explorations and growth. đœ
Since I did not talk about the costs of this experience, here are the details:
In order to reserve our spot, we had to pay our main course dishes up front at âŹ180 per person. (The current prices have risen, though, but since we booked way in advance, we paid for the previous pricing). A drink arrangement (alcoholic or not) cost us âŹ90 per person. We started the night off with a champagne (âŹ25 not included in the drinks we already paid for). The cheese platter wasn't a part of the main course dishes, and was âŹ22 per person. The wine (âŹ14) or tea (âŹ7,50) served with the cheese was also billed separately. Our bill all together came up to âŹ986,50 which is âŹ328,83 per person. đ«ą

Great video and I was flabbergasted (but interested) to see a 2-starred Michelin restaurant that puts the focus on vegan dishes.
That being said, also a critique : as we sometimes visit these establishments (both Michelin and Gault-Millau), I was wondering what the prices were for a full menu and couldn't believe they charged 190⏠. Fine dining is certainly an art but the higher cost(s) are also a result of the ingredients used in these dishes. And I can't shake off the impression that they are "overcharging"... which they are fully entitled to... but it's a hard pass for us.
Thank you for your comment! The dishes all looked amazing, and they tasted great as well. The prices, though... phew! I don't usually go out to eat at such restaurants. It was an experience for sure. I feel like there's often a "vegan tax" on foods. I am not sure what prices are like at other high end vegan restaurants. I do know I spent enough money that night.

It's not my intention to "brag" or "boast" but I wanted to share my disbelief as someone that has some experience with these kind of restaurants. But I can only compare their prices with non vegan ones and even though I wholeheartedly agree that the dishes and the presentation looked phenomenal, it still is mighty expensive. Just can't wrap my head around the fact that their prices are somewhat artificially boosted (due to their 2 stars alas). But let's focus on the positive : you have a splendid experience and that's what living is all about đ
