2) The first season of the SKAM remakes follow the same plot lines as the original, with one large difference-Russ is a Norwegian tradition, so every country uses the same characters and basic plot, but they find an alternative to the Russ storyline (in SKAM Austin, it's the dance team).
3) I say that “a lot of the actors” in SKAM attended Nissen. That’s potentially an overstatement as only two members of the main cast have been confirmed to have attended Nissen (Tarjei and David who play Isak and Magnus, respectively). I have heard that Nissen students were used as extras, but can’t say for certain because I can’t find confirmation online.
4) Yes, the Friday clip says 7:43 but ya girl had already filmed herself saying 7:42 so there was no going back.

Hey, everyone! To be clear, there is no official subtitled version of the original Norwegian SKAM. Subtitles are all done by fans and are scattered across the Internet. You definitely have to search for them for a while and it takes patience, but it’s worth it. Please try all the tips below before commenting about where to watch the show, thank you!
My general advice for watching full episodes of the original Norwegian SKAM with English subtitles is searching "SKAM Subtitles English” or “SKAM SUBS ENG" on Google. Usually there is a Tumblr or Dailymotion link that will come up with links to watch full episodes with subtitles. If you want to watch a particular remake, search for "SKAM [language of subs] subs [country of remake].” So, for example, "SKAM France ENG SUB" or "Druck ENG SUB" (Druck is the name of the German version of the show). Skam espana made their remake slighly different from the others thats why it's one of the best. Best girl squad. Also cris and joana 💜💜💜 they represent bpd so real that it actually hurts to the core. Which is actually good bc it means youre connecting w the audience right? All the luv 💜

The Norwegian version was the first version I watched around almost 3 years ago, I didn't feel the need to watch another version because I love the Norwegian version so much . I don't think I'm ready to move on

Can't believe this is your first video. You are doing an outstanding job. I've done videos professionally (training, so the focus is not on me), and I find it really hard. As someone who does videos, I am impressed with your natural pacing. You speak very clearly and with a very comfortable pace, while being entertaining to listen to. The structuring of the whole video was also top notch. A lot of people ramble on without clear direction. You really divided things up in a very logical manner and as someone who has watch a lot of Skam, I think you really nailed most of the essentials really well. So you seem to have done your research well while being good at picking the subset of things which are most important and relevant to talk about.
And finally something I don't normally like commenting on. It is not just that you got talent but you are also pretty in almost a SKAM kind of sense. I like how you have these sort of nice moderate color combination. The pink lipstick with the light blue shirt was a nice combination. You come across as this really friendly cute girl next door.
So you got everything going to be a youtube hit. You got both the looks and the talent ;-)
I joined the fandom two/three weeks ago after watching random clips of evak youtube recommended and so I didn't know that originally this show was posted in real time. That sounds so interesting and i am bummed that i wasn't aware of it then. You're video was very nice, well done and informative.

I really like Spain's but I have to wait longer for translations than I did for the OG, which makes it feel less rooted in reality. If you're up for it, SKAM Austin is the closest I've been able to get to the experience of OG SKAM. The second season should start very soon!

Hi! So I watched this video a few weeks ago, to kinda understand SKAM, because I was confused on where to start which one was OG, etc. And I literally just finished watching Season 3 of Norway SKAM and just want to say, WATCH IT!! It is one of the best teen dramas I have ever watched. I came across this compare and contrast bubble for young royals and SKAM and got hooked. This is perfect because not only being a teen this hits the nail on the coffin for many problems/ issues/ and just general stuff to happen for teens, especially in this day and age, so thanks Elizabeth!!!

The reason why I loved Skam so much was because the actors who portrait the characters were actually the same age and not some 26 adults who play a 16 year old high school kid like it is usually. Love your video.😆

what's so amusing about the popularity of SKAM worldwide is that Julie Andem have been creating these kinds of web dramas for a decade, back in 2008 she created a series that I watched as a kid but the characters were a little bit younger so it was more open for a younger audience, and then when the show ended in 2010 a new series started which I loved. She has always made web dramas where the characters have social media or you can watch their own blog entries to feel like they are real people.
I'm not a big skam fan but I hope she'll make more series like this so people can enjoy :)

I remember when I wanted to watch SKAM for the first time, it wasn't avalible with czech subtitles and I watched it with english subtitles and a translator. That made the experience super unique and unforgetable❤️

I’m so glad I found this video…4 years later. I originally discovered Skam Belgium aka wtFock back in 2019 then I went down the Skam rabbit hole and discovered there were so many remakes. Here in 2023 because I'm writing my dissertation about skam. I've been a fan of the show since 2016 and i remember how i asked my teacher to go to the bathroom everytime a new clip was dropped hahaha (even if i couldn't understand anything since i'm italian). This video was sooooo helpful and through watching this I got more into all the remakes (and the og version of course). Thank you for this! I hope that by sharing this to my friends I can get them in on such a great show!
Thank you Elizabeth! It's a testament to the good qualities of the original SKAM that I was captured via CZcams, by what I NOW understand were fan-translated clips. I was hungering for realistic gay stories at the time, and tracked down Isak's season content, out of order and from different translators, with bits from other seasons mixed in. Your guide has laid to rest many unanswered questions about what seemed like fragments of an exploded Norwegian TV show. By coincidence, Aspects of both Isak's and Even's lives echoed my own, so despite being a lot older, I felt like these Norse kids were telling my story. The end of your post just played, and the eyebrow thing made me laugh out loud. I love what you do and how you do it. Peace and love.

Although, I still didn't felt much empathy for William nor was I rooting for them to end up together. I discovered the Skam Universe just on 2 weeks ago (the Belgian Skam called Wtfock showed up randomly on my instagram) And was IMMEDIATELY obsessed. 😬🙂 So much so that I hunted down translated versions of all the Remakes - So out of all 8 Skam Universes I only have 2 seasons of Druck (German Skam) and the French version left to watch 😬 I LOVE the Skam Universe and will forever be in love with it. 💛💛💛

I think the topic of skam being in the format that skam use is interessting cause NRK had before skam explored with this format in a couple of tween drama series. But theese charachters did obviously not have social medias. If NRK had not made these shows like MIA and jenter i dont think skam would have been made.
I as a norwegian teen who has wached all off these shows can see how the format grew with quality but also recognice the same feelings it gave when they relieased a clip.

Actually, I understood about this show because of Joanna and Chris story in Skam España. So I decided that this show maybe is good.. And... Thanks for the help. Now I am gonna watch it💙

Hey, thank you so much! 💜 I used an old (~2013) Canon Rebel T5i for this video which puts out great quality footage but cannot autofocus for shit 😩 So I basically have to stay in the exact same spot the whole time I’m filming, and that’s no fun. Because of that, my newer videos are filmed with a Canon G7X which is a dream of a camera but does not capture the same “soft” look that the Rebel does. Win some, lose some! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Let me know if you have more questions!

ive seen skam so many times but i keep coming back to watch this video anyway
I never knew the show was supposed to run for 9 seasons??? What? I remember being sooo sad when it ended at 4 because I wanted a season with Vilde SO bad! She went through so much and we only got tiny glimpses into her life. Also girls Chris, obviously. But Jonas and more guys from the guy squad, like there was so much more to explore with these characters, why did she not let others do their versions and she could continue hers 😭
From the previews, it looks like SKAM-España may be focusing its upcoming Season 3 on both the Noora and Vilde characters. I'm not sure how having two main characters during the same season is going to work, but it will be interesting to find out. The actress who plays the Spanish Vilde is really good.
I'm just starting to watch Skam, and it really catches my attention. This video really cleared up confusion that's been on my mind, and I love how you explained it.
