I was there. I was in the 3rd row and I can see myself in this video of the ESPN coverage of the Thunderbolt Classic. The bowling alley it was held at no longer exists btw.

what a clusterf*** of a bowling center, B2000 Masking Units, AMF Oval Surepiks, with 82-30 or 70 machines, AMF foul lights and capping. There must have been Magic Triangles at one time, since everything but the Masks are AMF. I can't ever remember their being a major pro tournament center host that was the other way around, Magic Triangles with Gold Crown Ball Returns, A's or A2's and Brunswick Tel-e-foul. It was always strange enough seeing the Buffalo PBA Tournament back in the day when it was at Thruway Lanes with the Long Surepiks on Brunswick Machines, with the B2000 Masks.
Starting in the mid-'90s, it became common to see AMF masking units with Brunswick equipment -- in Brunswick-equipped centers that had been purchased by (Bowlmor)AMF.

I was there for that tournament. That was Rainbow Lanes in CLW, FL which no longer exists.
