@@logan770 yeah but when she's close to dying she can use the atoms in her body to resurrect herself and others around her and even grow a limb back and when she's close to dying of old age she can turn back into a teenager and start all over again also she's one of the very few superhumans that can hurt or killed a viltrumite

@@ultimateman3065 i think the show does a good job of making you want them to be together very early on. Rex is obviously a jerk. I think Mark likes her but since she's with Rex, he tries to get with Amber, who is also a jerk. Once Rex cheats, when Eve goes to see Mark but he's kissing Amber, I think she definitely likes him by then. Even when she vouches for him to Amber it sounded to me like she's pained to say it bc she's trying to help their relationship work out even though she likes Mark herself. Then the fact that she left so quickly when his mom mentioned William and Amber were there...

Just finished watching Season 1 a few months back and saw Eve's origin special last week. I've also looked up about as much stuff on Invincible as I could without spoiling myself on things I didn't already know about the show and comic.
One thing I'm surprised I've seen very little of (and pleasantly so) are people accusing Atom Eve of being a Mary Sue. In my experience, anti-feminists and the like are usually very quick to come out of the woodworks to slap the Mary Sue label on just about any female lead that comes around. I'm not 100 % sure how Eve's avoided it for the most part so far, other than her actually being a good character.
People really only slap that label on female leads deserving of the title. When companies push an agenda over good writing you get stuff like the Charlie's Angels reboot which was a huge flop.
Eve is a well written character with great qualities and flaws. She isn't just there to tick some corporate checkbox. She adds value to the story and is a great lead.
That's why she's not labeled a Mary Sue.
Also a quick way to tell if a character is a good character or there for a corporate checklist is to do a gender/race swap. If Eve was a boy and Invincible was a girl, they both would still be great characters. Good writing isn't dependent on race/gender. And bad writing usually revolves around it.

we see her jealous at times, and in s2e4 she wrecked some havoc coz she was pissed
She's not portrayed as perfect, her bad actions aren't defended by the writing bc the writers just think a female can't be wrong about things (see: Guy-ladriel, Kit from Willow, She-Hulk, etc). And even though she's OP af, she's allowed to struggle with fighting (cause she has to learn how to use her powers and doesn't just come out as a badass) and she struggles with things emotionally. Her struggles with her parents, career path, and the whole Rex and Mark situation is extremely relatable. The writers do a great job making you feel for her, not against her.
Kit from Willow, on the other hand, is a character no one would want as a friend, no one would want to hang around her (she literally threw a knife over her brother's head to prove how badass she was and offered to sacrifice someone the queen promised freedom to). And the show endorses all her actions by saying that she basically rebels against destiny which is a strength of character, and further endorses her by making her worthy of magical armor, which is about as realistic as Epstein being worthy of Thor's hammer. If she were a male she'd be considered an example of toxic masculinity.
Atom Eve could be a male and would still be relatable and likable. You're not annoyed by her existence every time she shows up on screen. That's why no one hates her.
@@dope_humor you basically explained why people hated amber so much because of a few scenes. but that 1 scene really set off the bomb lol. people understood why she was mad, but the fact that she made mark feel like shit and the show using eve and william to portray that she was totally right was ..... a peculiar decision. that was NOT relatable because no 17 y/o girl in the world is gonna act like that if she finds out that the reason he's been distant is coz he's a superhero.

Her powers from when she was a kid are so much stronger. Is this a retcon? Anyways I hope they do more with it in the future lmao.
I don't think it's a retcon. Those aliens were able to do serious damage to a young Viltramite. That doctor never actually managed to do any damage to her, just dodge. And in her special she did have difficulty against her siblings and they wouldn't last ten seconds against Omni-Man.
@@revanius2213 Yes, but she can change things to different substances, including living organisms. We don't see her doing that in the future. That's what I was mainly referring to.
