Mangalacharan (Ganesh Vandana) | Odissi Dance | Mahima, Debashrita, Triparna

This marks the Odissi dancer’s entry on the stage as she invokes the blessings of Lord Jagannath for an auspicious beginning. This is followed by a salutation to Mother Earth, the Guru (teacher), and the Sabha (audience); also called the 'trikhandi pranam'. The dancer then prays to Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles, for his blessings. This piece is set to raga Megh and Kedar, Taala: Chaturasara Ekatali.
This dance is choreographed by Padma Vibhushan Late Guru Sri Kelucharan Mahapatra.
