In this video we compare the Tippmann M4-22 vs Smith & Wesson 15-22. In my opinion these two .22 lr rifles are some of the best on the market.

No results found on the Tippmann 🤷🏼♂️
The tippman link doesn't work
Tippman is the choice of the two marksmanship programs Project Appleseed and Revere's Riders. I love the Tippman. 100% reliability. There is an ambi charging handle available
I regret selling my 15/22 . Had some upgrades done to it. The trigger on mine was stock but felt great. Only problem I had with it was the safety was extremely stiff. And I couldn’t find and aftermarket safety in stock the whole time I owned the gun . As soon as a sold it I found one in stock . 😡 only good thing is I sold it to a friend so I can still shoot it and see it from time to time. I plan on getting the tippmann to compare to the s&w
Great review / comparison! I went with the M&P for exactly the reasons you stated. It was for my kid and she needed the lightest rifle I could get her while still functioning kinda like an AR15. If she was older I would have spent a little more and got the Tippmann!
Thank you!
I have 2 of the 15-22’s and they’re great. Very reliable, but I have no experience with the Tippman, but I hear they’re great.
I agree with everything you said on the comparison video. I have owned the S&W in the past and found it a reliable plinking rifle, it went bang and ejected/reloaded every time with no issues.
Having said that, the Tippman which i have owned for a couple of years in on another level.
It is equally as reliable as the Smith, but there the similarity ends.
The M-4 is about as close to the 223/556 AR as is possible with all the features of it's big brother apart from the gas system etc.
It feels like more business like in every way and i guess it should with the price difference. The extra £300 or so is money well spent and i don't feel like i'm missing something.
Also the Tippmann comes in a nice ABS case with two mags, just a better all round shooting experience but i'm not knocking the 15-22.
You pay your money and makes you choice.
I own both, and the tippmann is well worth the extra money
The extra money for EVERYTHING Lol
Have you shot the hk 416? I’m trying to decide between the Tippmann and the hk
Ya my dad has a hk 416 and it's stays at home now that he has a tippmann as well
@@jonathanhochreiter8811 but which one would you say is better
I'm a bit HK fan boy, some may say, but the Tippman is far and away the better rifle, in my opinion
Nice review. Valuable comparison! Thank you !
Thanks for watching!
I would like to see these two with the same optic going head to head and see which one will be the winner , in accuracy and reliability.
I rather have the light weight S&W , just because it’s .22 lr , if it was like 9mm then sure let’s add some more metal for strength and longevity .

I currently own the HK416D 22lr and I love it, BUT...I saw the Tippman M4-22lr Micro Elite Bugout Pistol and gotta have it! Better barrel, functioning bolt release and forward assist, folding brace with a 7" barrel. Guess my HK426D has just earned a "for sale" tag
The Smith and Wesson and the Tippmann both have better barrels than the HK416D, which is made by Umarex and uses a pencil barrel. Tippmann is nicer overall but M&P 15-22 is still nice and very light, makes my backpacker 10/22 feel heavy in comparison.
To me, the whole point of these rifles is to be LIGHTWEIGHT. I’m sure the Tippmann is super nice, but my kids can shoot the 15-22 because of its weight. A little bit of weight makes a big difference. And I only shoot subsonic ammo suppressed, so plastic holds up just fine. I have countless thousands of rounds through both of mine.
Well now this is a interesting video and I own the Smith& Wesson m&p 1522 and it has been a very excellent 22LR rifle for me. I have not had any experience with the tipmann but I have always heard good things about them. I have put a AR-15 type trigger in in my Smith& Wesson m&p 1522 also a full-length free float handguard.
Just ordered the Tippmannn from my local shop. I've handled the S&W a lot without shooting it (I hang out at an FFL 8-10hrs a week), cant wait to make the Tippmann a dedicated .22
The Smith and Wesson comes with pop up sites
Finally a solid ar22. Appreciate ya, sir
Hi . Could you make a video for Tippmann arm m4 .22 bolt and ejector disassembly . Thanks
Thanks for comparison.
$300 for conversion bolt to shoot 22 on your set up. I like the 15-22 bc of price and weight. Tillman A dedicated 22 that’s heavier.. if you have the funds sure. You’ll have to accessorise it also so that’s more $$
The tippmann has the more authentic ar15 "look" to it over the SW ...
I have the first gen M&P 15-22. The one with the quad rail and non threaded barrel. At the time it was the only option with the same controls as an AR that had a working last round bolt hold open. It's been great for what it is. I got my Rifleman patch with it and still use it in our local .22 2-gun matches. That said the Tippmann is a lot newer and is what i would buy today.
I had to laugh because you mentioned the forward assist about 5 times. It’s a component that’s really not necessary on a normal 5.56 chambered AR, and it’s completely unnecessary in a .22 rimfire version.
It's not necessary on the 22lr, but I mentioned for training purposes for people it might be.
Good, thx
I have a plastic picatini rail on Tippman.
What about last round bolt hold open?
Thank you sir I really liked your brief review you almost covered everything in both. I Think that the sling attachment in the tippmann m plate is useless because there is no sling attachment on the front? Also the plastic stock in the tippmann is shaking and annoying I couldn't fix that.
Which one shoots better????
Tippman!!!
Glad I saw this before getting the S&W.
I like the magazine in Tippmann a lot but other than that I'll stick with my 15-22. The lighter is the better in my view.
I don't know about the S&W but the Tippman has a full floated barrel
I have both of them 😊
You did not mention the price of each rifle.
I don't know what the price difference is in the States but here in the UK the Tippmann is around £300+ more expensive than the Smith.
I personally think it is worth the extra outlay with the extra features, build quality and what you get for your money. They both are worth what they cost, just a matter of what you want in an AR platform.
S&W $435
Tippman $608
I have the S&W 15-22. Would appreciate recommendations on both an inexpensive optic and weapon light.
Sig Romeo 5. You can get them for around $110. A good light would be the Streamlight HLX for around $100
5:19 You should check that Tippmann buffer tube again. I just bought my M4-22 new which has a serial number in the 80 thousands and it has a PLASTIC buffer tube unlike you saying yours came with a metal buffer tube
I just checked my buffer tube again and its PLASTIC. It scrapes like plastic and the shavings come off in sold black color. If it was metal buffer tube it would be shiny metal under the coating whereas this is solid black throughout the plastic
Tippman Wins ! I Got It AWESOME
Who sells the mags for the s&w
Compare the Hammerli Tac R1. It’s a great .22.
I prefer the Tippmann to the Tac R1
I also just subscribed
The M15 22 sport comes fully loaded with flip up sites ..
My question is, can the tip man take 556 uppers?
That's a great question I will let you know tonight
@jonathanhochreiter8811 definitely looking forward to it. Would be a game changer for me and will most likely purchase one if this is indeed the case.
The Tippman lower will not work as a donor for any other uppers it fits but the Tippman has a a peace that connects to the bolt to drive is forward by the mag release when installed on AR15 upper it hits the BCG and won't cycle hope this answers your question
🇺🇸 Its happening now .
Seriously mate wtf with your accent, I’ve lived all over the world since i was 15, I’m 55 now and still have my Edinburgh accent
I was just home in Scotland a month ago and got some amount of Sh$t for it :) It's seriously messed up, I know :(
I like my Hammerli 22 by Walther much better
I got rid of my m p because it wouldn't run for shit and went back to a ruger ten twenty two haha
So weird with rimfires how we all have such different results with the same model gun :)

I think you can get a periodical "Lemon" from all gun manufacturers but the big difference is which manufacturers quickly rectify their "Lemon" that made it through QC, was a victim to tolerance stacking or for some reason the particular gun that you got is just not good.
Customer service means a lot where I had a problem with a Springfield XD45 and a Ruger SR1911 and both of those companies were fast and took care of me but my mother in law had a S&W Body Guard that was her husbands pistol that he had bought used. Her husband died and she asked me how she could get the gun fixed since she lives alone on a 325 acre farm out in the "Boonies" of Ohio and she wants a gun that she can shoot. Being a tiny, 72 year old woman ruled out her husbands go to gun which was a 12 gauge
I told her to let me contact S&W to see if they would take care of it. It took me 5 attempts before I could get anyone at S&W to answer the phone.
On the 5th attempt I got a guy named "Dave" and Dave was an idiot.
I told Dave the problem and he said that I would have to send the pistol in and he gave me a return number on a return tag that he sent to my email so that I could print it out and affix it to the box and send the box back via Federal Express
So far so good and then Dave asked me if my mother in law had the pistol legally transferred into her name? I said "WHAT?" and Dave proceeded to tell me that S&W will probably not be able to do something with the pistol unless federal law is followed and the pistol is legally transferred into my MiL's name.
I told Dave that there is no federal stating that a firearm must be transferred into the new owner's name unless the purchase was through an FFL. I told Dave that this pistol was bought used in a face to face transaction a few years ago and that some STATES have that stupid law but we are all in Ohio that doesn't have those stupid laws mandating a background check and transfer through an FFL for a face to face sale of a used firearm in Ohio and THANK GOD for that
Dave proceeded to get "Huffy" with me and said that S&W will not help my MiL unless she has the gun transferred into her name through an FFL. I told Dave "No problem, my 72 year old MiL will just use her unsafe S&W pistol and if anything happens then my MiL will just sue S&W!
This was all bluster on my part but I was a tad "Torqued" over Dave's ignorance and a little at S&W for hiring Dave in the first place.
I gave my MiL a Ruger LCP that has been laying around my house for awhile and I still have the S&W Bodyguard tore down needing a new mag release and another couple of parts stuffed in a box up in my reloading/gun room and will probably remain in the box forever or until I get the extra parts.
I inherited a S&W 686 +1 and I was so ummmm "Not Happy" with S&W over this ordeal that I damn near sold the 686 and one of my ARs which is a S&W but I kept both firearms because I had a guy tell me that he was interested in the 686 BUT he then proceeded to tell me that the mint condition 686 was only worth $400, maybe $450 at the most.
I looked at the guy and said "Not for you it isn't" then walked away to resume my work replacing an electric motor in an absolute dirty and dusty cooler
I know this is a forever late comment - but I had some issues and spent $12 on a Volquartsen ejecter and BOOM - problems solved. I can run any ammo no issues. Actually shot about 300 rounds tonight. Not a single issue.
Ill watched you everyday and night lol! Subscribe for your channel can you please help me tippmann elite or pro vs m&p 15-22 help coz i wanna buy this month. And how about hammerli and hk? Thank you keep safe.

Is it for you or for you and the kids to shoot? If kids are shooting get the smith and Wesson. It’s noticeably lighter for kids.
