They are called a latch. I bought a set on Amazon. They had an assortment of sizes in a package. Used for hair weaving. It was the best price and now I have for multiple sweater knit sizes. ❤️ I would check there for the double latch as well. ❤️
Yep its a “latch hook crochet needle” …if u want the specific sewing type I know Dritz makes ones called “Knit Picker” but they’re really all the same thing & I figure having a set in multiple sizes is ideal for darning repairs :)
What is the measurement you use per stitch to determine the size of the large loops you make before starting the vertical repair? It looks like the loops cross 17 stitches on the horizontal to cover 6 to 7 rows of vertical . Thanks!
That is actually the trickiest aspect. She's showing the length as double the width of the opening, but my hole was only two stitches wide and I included the side stitches in the calculation, so my loops were too long. It wasn't fun working the extra length back through, using a crochet hook. Next time I'll make them twice the width of the actual hole.
