    Unless they specifically did the Iron Hands Contemptor upgrade differently, it uses the plastic smokestacks and reactor from the plastic Contemptor. Edit: I had the chance to see the upgrade in person and it does retain the unique reactor.

    Speaking of the Primarch models you like. Could you do a video, after all these 'Legion Range Review', of ranking just the Primarch models? And thoughts of which ones may get a 'redo' and how you might think the other Daemon Primarchs might come out. Maybe a tack-on wish list of which characters that don't have models that you'd like to see them do.

    I didn't like the new MkVI heads at first, but when I saw them from the side I understood that they are actually 40k techmarine heads and that makes them perfect for Iron Hands!

    Love when breachers get legion specific shields. They truly pop with the big iconography on there. For my night lords, I added a row of spikes to the front five with 5 plain to show front rank push forward, 2nd rank covers over

    In place of Gorgons, I've been a big fan of Tortuga Bay's Heavy M4 Terminator bodies, they don't have a lot of the cog trim, and there's a good bit of shaving needed to make them look bare bones, but they are the appropriate amount of "brutal utilitarianism" for me

    The more I read about Iron Hands, the more I love them. Ferrus was flawed but in a believable, well written way, at least from my experience so far

    If I ever get into 30K, I'll definitely do Iron Hands. Those older FW sculpts for them are so great.

    The Iron Hands shoulder pads in that Primaris upgrade pack are the same size as MK4 shoulder pads too, so they're a great way to upgrade your squads of MK4 too - although I prefer MK2 and MK3 for Iron Hands.

    question: can the primaris helmets can be used as modified MK4 helmet?

    • @cornchaptermasterofcarmine5902
      @cornchaptermasterofcarmine5902 Před 11 měsíci

      Not really no. They're too distinct in my opinion. But like most of this hobby you can listen to what other people say or do whatever you want. So you know if you really like them and really want to use them then go nuts but real mark IV looks much better 9 times out of 10. The IH upgrade's only noteworthy features are the within helmet monocle and a few exposed pipes. Both are rather easy to sculpt onto mark IV helmets. Alternatively you could try to trim the stalhelm earmuff design off and sculpt a better more fitting mark IV facegrill.

    You lost me with the primaris backpack ..who real cares about an obvious primaris backpack on an already 40k heavy model?...you're starting to lose yourself.
    Next you will state that a primaris marine in mk10 armour is basically MK3 artificer ..who cares lol
    The old guy wouldn't have considered needing to heavily convert a marine or a kit to make it work as a positive.

    • @andrewmarrington5654
      @andrewmarrington5654 Před 11 měsíci +3

      He's giving us options given there are so few Iron Hand character models. To be honest, what FW are now selling as "artificer" armour (see new traitor champion especially) represents such a broad range of looks that if someone who lacks the hobby skill to turn a MK10 backpack into something more "era appropriate" wants to call it an "artificer backpack" that's hardly the worst hobby sin.

      @@andrewmarrington5654 gonna be honest man, primaris looks like garbage in a way which the champion doesn’t.

      Since this video gave me the inspiration I've now converted the Feirros model for 30K. I replaced the primaris legs with devastator legs since they have a somewhat Iron Hands-like pattern, made a simple melta/flamer combination to replace the heavy bolter, and added on some 30K backpack bits to try reduce the primaris appearance. Added a cyberfamiliar, and it's done. I couldn't completely replace the primaris backpack for a MKIV one because it wouldn't fit to the torso as snugly and I wanted to keep the torso, so that was a trade off, but I am pretty happy with the result, especially since FW doesn't give us an Iron Father model with a machinator array to buy off the shelf. So I found it a really helpful tip.
