  • Maybe you've heard some people at your local lawn store talk about a little something called HUMIC ACID and FULVIC ACID. Well let me tell you what! It works. Adding humic acid to your lawn has been a game changer for my front yard this spring.
    I've never added humic or fulvic acid to my back yard as a 1 year challenge to see if there were any noticeable differences. Last week I added my first spring lawn application of simple lawn solutions humic/fulvic acid. The Humic acid gave me a quicker green up in the front yard. I highly recommend that you start adding humic acid and fulvic acid to your lawn program this year. As a reminder humic acid and fulvic acid is not a fertilizer but a soil conditioner that will improve your soil structure and make your fertilizer applications more efficient.

    Did this last year to part of my front yard, man what a difference. Pulling up to my house you can see the big difference. Dark green and thick versus green and jus ok. This year Im apply to my entire yard

      I'm running the lawn on a budget this year but I'm with you. I would love to be applying humic on the lawn a few times a year.

    I have the same sprayer. What pressure did you have it on? Or did you just press the power button for full psi? Thanks!

      @rayhollerrr I just rolled it up to maximum. I didn't have the sprayer for very long. Those rechargeable batteries kept going bad and the whole thing was so weird to carry on your back.

      That's the truth. I stopped putting down liquid humic unless it contains micronutrients or macronutrients. But it's some pretty cool stuff regardless.

      Organic lawncare takes time for applications to work. It’s not like synthetic fertilizers, etc. that work rapidly. Humic acid gives life to your soil and life is what makes the lawn healthy. Synthetics just feed the plant only but kill and harm the soil. So once you have a thriving soil which will take years organically, it will be healthy for a very long time, and it will help with many other lawn issues and not just the grass color.

    Do you water after application of Humic acid or just leave over grass blades ? Thank you

    • @MatsDawson
      @MatsDawson  Před 3 lety +1

      If you use a hose end sprayer, then no you dont have to water it in, but if you use a backpack or pump sprayer like mine in the video, you will need to water it in. It doesn't do anything to the plants themselves, but helps the soil.

    Good video! Can you spray humic directly on bald patches of the yard to prep the soil for seeding in the fall. I feel like those areas are dry and lacking nutrition. If so, how often should I do it with prospective seeding planned for early September here in PA.

    • @MatsDawson
      @MatsDawson  Před 3 lety

      Hey, Bob, Thanks for the compliments.
      You can most certaintly begin spraying humic acid on bare areas or areas with grass. Humic acid, can be put down at any time. I would recommend adding it about every 6 weeks, if there are no budget constraints. However, even 2 to 4 applications a year will improve your soil, and give your grass more access to nutrients in the ground.

    Nice video. If I use a regular hose sprayer, is it bad if I spray it down and it rains right after?

    • @MatsDawson
      @MatsDawson  Před 2 lety +1

      It's best to be sure it doesn't rain right after spraying, but if it was a light rain it will be okay. If it was a downpour, you may have a lot of run off.

    Is it ok to mix this with iron in the same application?

    • @MatsDawson
      @MatsDawson  Před 3 lety +1

      I've never had an issue. The only issue would be a chemical reaction that makes your mix thick. You can do a jar test, mix a tiny amount of each in a glass jar and see if they mix well. If they do, throw it down.
