    English:
    On the hearth a little fire is burning,
    And it is hot in the house,
    And the rebbe is teaching the little children.
    The Aleph Bet.
    Study, children, with great interest,
    That is what I tell you;
    He who'll know his lessons first,
    Will get a banner for a prize.
    When you get older, children,
    You will understand that this alphabet
    Contains the tears and the weeping
    of our people.
    When you grow weary, children
    And burdened with exile,
    You will find comfort and strength
    within this Jewish alphabet.
    See now children, remember dear ones,
    What you've learned here;
    repeat it again and again
    Aleph with kametz is "o"!

      No. Spielberg said in an interview that the little girl in the red coat symbolized the Holocaust. He said that the U.S. and much of the rest of the world either refused to see the reality of it, or simply felt it was not important or not really as bad as some claimed and simply ignored it even though it was happening right under everyone's nose.

    BTW the girl in the red coat was real. In an interview by the author of the book Schindlers Ark, Schindler himself described the situation and how he was stunned by the fact that the Germans were totally ignoring her as they were pushing people in lines and on to the trucks. "She wore the brightest color "red" and still, no one payed attention to her as she was walking the street between the chaos" - Oscar Schindler

      No we're not, stop using the very real and legitimate plight of the Jews and their sad history of being picked on by society to draw parallels to Donald Trump or whatever, lets ignore the fact that the left is plagued with anti-semitism, lets ignore the fact that Trump has made the first pro-Jew move from the west for sometime by recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital, but no enforcing Obama era immigration policies and then discontinuing their use is somehow "Holocaust 2". People like you make me sick, politicising historical tragedy to push your own hypocritical twisted agenda, people like you don't give two fucks about the Jews otherwise you would've done more to support Israel in the modern era when they are surrounded by countries hell bent on exterminating them all.

    Here is a version that you can sing along in English:
    There's a fire here burning in my heart
    and the house is warm
    And the rabbi teaches all the little kids
    hebrew alphabet.
    And the rabbi teaches all the little kids
    sing the alphabet.
    Oh my dearest child, never you forget
    what you learned this day
    Oh my dearest child, never you forget
    what you learned this day
    Oh my dearest child, never you forget
    sing it loud one day
    Literal Translation from Yiddish (German-Jewish dialect)
    A fire is burning in my heart
    and the house is warm
    And the rabbi teaches little children
    The alphabet.

    And the rabbi teaches little children
    The alphabet.

    Remember, children, remember, dear,
    What you learn here;

    אויפן פּריפּעטשיק (בתרגום לעברית: "על האח"; מוכר גם כ"אלף בית") הוא שיר יידיש רגשי שכתב והלחין המשורר מרק ורשבסקי בסוף המאה ה-19. השיר מספר על "חיידר" חמים, שבו בוערת אש בתוך האח והרב מלמד את התלמידים את האלפבית.
    הודפס ב-1901 בספרו של ורשבסקי "יידישע פאלקסלידער מיט נאטן" (שירים יהודיים עם תווים), שם הופיע לראשונה עם תוויו. הוא היה הבולט בשיריו של ורשבסקי, והפך במהרה לסמל אהוד ומוכר להוויית "העולם הישן" והשטעטל היהודי של מזרח אירופה. השיר אוצר בתוכו את הווי החדר היהודי עטוף התמימות והחום, ואת שיטת ההוראה המסורתית הפשוטה שבה המלמד מקריא את האות והברתה והתלמידים חוזרים אחריו. שירי ורשבסקי, שנכתבו ביידיש, הושפעו רבות ממקורות עממיים ונכתבו בלשון פשוטה ומתנגנת עם רוח של תקווה וניחומים, שהמתיקו את חייהם הקשים של ההמונים היהודיים במזרח אירופה.
    השיר בחלקו מושר עד היום בחדרים חרדיים ללימוד אותיות האלף-בית, בחלק מהם לומדים את אותיות האלף-בית על ידי שירת האותיות במנגינת השיר[1]. השיר זכה לביצועים רבים ביידיש ובעברית, בהם ביצועיהם של חוה אלברשטיין, אסתר עופרים, צילה דגן ודודו פישר. השיר הושמע בסרטו המפורסם של סטיבן שפילברג, "רשימת שינדלר", וכן הופיע כחלק מהעלילה במחזמר "טופלה טוטוריטו" בביצועו של שמואל סגל.
    השיר תורגם לעברית על ידי פסח קפלן, ופורסם חלקית לראשונה ב-1905 בספר "הזמיר". התרגום המלא, כולל שני הבתים האחרונים, מופיע בספרו "ספר הזמירות" מ-1913. להלן תרגום מילולי המותאם למילים המקוריות ביידיש ומאפשר להבין את המשמעות של המילים המקוריות ביידיש.
    השיר המקורי ביידיש
    "אויפן פריפעטשיק ברענט אַ פייערל
    און אין שטוב איז הייס,
    און דער רבי לערנט קליינע קינדערלעך
    דעם אלף־בית."
    רעפריין:
    "זאגט זשע, קינדערלעך, געדענקט זשע טייערע,
    וואס איר לערנט דא;
    זאגט זשע נאך אַ מאל, און טאַקע נאך אַ מאל:
    קמץ־אלף: אָ!
    לערנט, קינדער, מיט גרויס חשק,
    אזוי זאג איך אייך אן;
    ווער ס'וועט גיכער פון אייך קענען עברי,
    דער באקומט א פאהן.
    לערנט, קינדער, האט נישט מורא,
    יעדער אנהייב איז שווער;
    גליקלעך דער וואס האט געלערנט תורה,
    צי דארף א מענטש נאך מער?

    וועט איר אליין פארשטיין,

    און וויפל געוויין...
    אז איר וועט, קינדער, דעם גלות שלעפן,

Refrain: See, children, remember, dear ones, What you learn here; Repeat and repeat yet again, "Komets-alef: o!" Learn, children, with great enthusiasm. Learn children, don't be afraid, Every beginning is hard; Lucky is the one has learned Torah, What more does a person need? When you grow older, children, You will understand by yourselves, How many tears lie in these letters, And how much lament. When you, children, will bear the Exile, And will be exhausted, May you derive strength from these letters, Look in at them!

      English translation (Wikipédia):
      On the hearth, a fire burns, And in the house it is warm. And the rabbi is teaching little children, The alphabet. Refrain: See, children, remember, dear ones, What you learn here; Repeat and repeat yet again, "Komets-alef: o!" Learn, children, with great enthusiasm. So I instruct you; He among you who learns Hebrew pronunciation faster - He will receive a flag.
