English:
On the hearth a little fire is burning,
And it is hot in the house,
And the rebbe is teaching the little children.
The Aleph Bet.
Study, children, with great interest,
That is what I tell you;
He who'll know his lessons first,
Will get a banner for a prize.
When you get older, children,
You will understand that this alphabet
Contains the tears and the weeping
of our people.
When you grow weary, children
And burdened with exile,
You will find comfort and strength
within this Jewish alphabet.
See now children, remember dear ones,
What you've learned here;
repeat it again and again
Aleph with kametz is "o"!

A beautiful song......And one of the saddest moments in any film.......Brings a tear to my eye every time.
+TheSmiler62 The little girl in red make always me cry
the only color in the film
you are jew then
21 years later I just suddenly realized why the little girl was the only one in colour in this movie. she represented innocence and the loss of it.
No. Spielberg said in an interview that the little girl in the red coat symbolized the Holocaust. He said that the U.S. and much of the rest of the world either refused to see the reality of it, or simply felt it was not important or not really as bad as some claimed and simply ignored it even though it was happening right under everyone's nose.
I also recently read somewhere that there was actually a little girl who survived the holocaust and later came out with book which was supposeldy titled girl in the red coat or something.
@@teritompkins5939 stupid explanatioh.
@@RahulKumar-wl4dj no beacuse later in the film you see the girl dead
@@RahulKumar-wl4dj see 2:38 of the video
BTW the girl in the red coat was real. In an interview by the author of the book Schindlers Ark, Schindler himself described the situation and how he was stunned by the fact that the Germans were totally ignoring her as they were pushing people in lines and on to the trucks. "She wore the brightest color "red" and still, no one payed attention to her as she was walking the street between the chaos" - Oscar Schindler
Growing up, my mom would sing this as a lullaby for me, and hearing it here, knowing the contents of the movie and the time in history it was set to, makes it a lot more meaningful and powerful for me.
Where are you from
the movie is propaganda, still the music is amazing
@@milovandam55why are true facts propaganda?
That little girl hiding under the bed that scene still haunts me
This song always makes me cry
I saw that movie in the theater when it first came out. I've never before or since had such a powerful movie experience. As the credits ended and the houselights went up, nobody had moved from their seats. I have never been able to bring myself to watch it again. And we're so very, very close to seeing something like this happening again.
No we're not, stop using the very real and legitimate plight of the Jews and their sad history of being picked on by society to draw parallels to Donald Trump or whatever, lets ignore the fact that the left is plagued with anti-semitism, lets ignore the fact that Trump has made the first pro-Jew move from the west for sometime by recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital, but no enforcing Obama era immigration policies and then discontinuing their use is somehow "Holocaust 2". People like you make me sick, politicising historical tragedy to push your own hypocritical twisted agenda, people like you don't give two fucks about the Jews otherwise you would've done more to support Israel in the modern era when they are surrounded by countries hell bent on exterminating them all.
I see it at least once a year. And you were right four years ago, but it is happening now. I can't compare Ukraine to the Shoah, but the brutality of agression is here again
In the memory of our families which died in the camps. We will never forget. Never again.
This song is the human anthem for me , the horror , beauty, hope and dispair . The scene itself is a work of art. May moral men stand togheter and try to prevent this to ever happen again...
The master workers of the world are causing this to happen
The decadent greedy demonic elite is preparing world war 3. I am prepared to escape and survive in the mountains. I won't part take to the hekatomb.

@Gisselle ST Oh so sorry to know that. You are completely right though. watching like the sadest movie ever in that age could have horrible effects on children and that could stay in them for a long time or maybe even forever this has actually happend to me when I was 10 I watched an anime named "grave of the fireflies"on TV can't describe the feeling it gaves to me I felt a great amount of sadness I cried in my pillow like every night without letting my parents know about it and now when I watch it I feel an old wound bleeding in my soul anyway I just want u to know that I understand u and care ab it hope you're ok now love you so much ❤❤❤

I learned this song when I was a youngster. The song is about children sitting close to the hearth and learning the Alphabet. When I saw this song being used in this scene, I lost it.
One of the most emotional, shocking but still historically accurate films ever made. Spielberg got the highest German award for that movie... and he deserves it.
10 Kinder lachen.10 kinder schneidest du. Das Lied tut weh wenn man,s versteht... Amin.

Here is a version that you can sing along in English:
There's a fire here burning in my heart
and the house is warm
And the rabbi teaches all the little kids
hebrew alphabet.
And the rabbi teaches all the little kids
sing the alphabet.
Oh my dearest child, never you forget
what you learned this day
Oh my dearest child, never you forget
what you learned this day
Oh my dearest child, never you forget
sing it loud one day
Literal Translation from Yiddish (German-Jewish dialect)
A fire is burning in my heart
and the house is warm
And the rabbi teaches little children
The alphabet.
And the rabbi teaches little children
The alphabet.
Remember, children, remember, dear,
What you learn here;
He says one more time, and indeed one more time:
Komets-Alef: Oh! (Learn, children, with great enthusiasm)
I just got to say that I can't never watch this movie completely, it just breaks my heart and I start crying like a baby. This one time we had to watch it for one of my classes and I had to walk out and apologize to my professor, I told him: "I'm sorry I can't watch this anymore" with tears in my eyes!!! I couldn't watch it, it's too strong and moving. The scene with the little girl with the red coat is just to CRUEL!! INHUMAN!!!
Love this❤
This song always make me cry so much power
Todos Los días lloro
Lloro a mitad de la canción siempre. Es impactante la película. Y ver a tanto inocente niño/ a morir sin piedad. Mañana yo la cantaré en un Festival de mí Escuela. Me encanta tanto. Y lloro tanto.
The girl with the red coat really existed. But fortunately opposing to its showed in the Film “Schindler’s list” she survived 😊
this is horrible! omg i feel so bad for all those people who suffered it was terrible
They were my family some my great grandpas and grandmas were victims
They’re mostly gone now. Don’t feel bad. Feel angry, and use that anger to make this world better

amazing.
This song makes my heart break.
I have no faith in the inherent goodness of Humanity. Left to his/her own thoughts and feelings to do what is right in his/her own eyes, human beings are monstrous.... with a few exceptions.
Your choice, your entitled to it as much as I am to mine.As I always say, everyone must read, research, listen to both sides and then take a stand (even if not on anyone´s side). After decades listening to just one side I tried listening to the other, reading their proofs, their explanations and took my new stand, this time for good.
Ah little girl,u made me cry

And as the Blitzkrieg rages on, Wehrmacht are unaware of whats going on behind them. Only if they had turned their heads around for a brief second, they would have seen what they were fighting for.
R.I.P To all brave Souls who both died to the brutality, who tried to escape and fight it to the death trying to free others, and those who hoped for humanity to save them. humans should never have existed .. All this suffering that is inflicted on each other
All the happiness, all the love, every precious memory is worth the pain. To live is to love and be hurt, to lose and to win, without these things we would never learn and evolve, we would never learn strength or what/who matters most.

Actually, most of the civilian casualties were exactly that or in one way or another, killed like clay pigeons - gee, just like civilian casualties are today. And since most of the 55 million lives lost were civilian, I think the point still stands.
The righteous live forever.
The indifferent are dead already.
Choose wisely..
Oskar Schindler was a great man this movie the story a person who fought to save lives took from his pocket so he lived to save those people excites even without words only god to explain something that's what he did and impressive since I knew his story I was amazed with such sensitivity to aid the Jewish people and a hero is it where Oskar Schindler is what God has
