The Kind Stranger.
One sunny day, a man named Jack walked to the park. Jack felt sad because he lost his job. He sat on a bench, thinking about his problems.
An old woman named Mary sat next to him. She smiled and said, "Hello, young man. How are you?"
Jack sighed and said, "Not good. I lost my job, and I don't know what to do."
Mary listened carefully. "I understand," she said. "I lost my husband last year. It was very hard for me. But every day, I come to this park and talk to people. It helps me feel better."
Jack looked at her. "Talking helps?"
"Yes," Mary said. "When we share our problems, we feel less alone."
Jack felt a little better. He talked to Mary about his job, his family, and his dreams. Mary listened and shared her stories too.
After an hour, Jack smiled. "Thank you, Mary. I feel much better now."
Mary smiled back. "Sometimes, a kind word and a listening ear are all we need."
Jack nodded. "I will remember that. Maybe I can help someone else too."
"That's the spirit," Mary said. "Kindness is like a light. It spreads from one person to another."
Jack left the park feeling hopeful. He decided to volunteer at a local shelter. Helping others made him feel useful and happy.
Months later, Jack found a new job. He still visited the park and talked to Mary. They became good friends.
Jack learned that empathy and kindness can make a big difference in someone's life. He never forgot Mary's words and always tried to help others.
