ain't ashamed to say i was emotional, cried for 2 weeks after Prince died. he was so frickin badd and did it all from his vocals to his dancing to his producing to his writing, to his ability to play every instrument. i mean people throw around the word Genius so casually but he really was it i mean IT. His Royal Baddness R.I.P.
I am with you, Oscar. I still get emotional about it, especially when I hear Sometimes It Snows in April. The song about Christopher dying in April, like Prince. He was a tortured genius! I was fortunate enough to go to Paisley Park to mourn on Labor Day weekend the year he died. It wasn't open to the public yet, but hundreds of us got to enjoy fan art attached to the fence. The Revolution did a concert at First Avenue that weekend, and my bestie (lives in Minneapolis) got us tickets. It was an unbelievable experience.
I still cry some days some songs I can’t even listen to anymore .I give all singers their props for being who they are but prince was on another level of creativity another level of spirituality.there will never ever be another like him in no lifetime
In the 80s he was years ahead of his time. The beats, the lyrics, the clothes, the make up, the androgyny. Women loved him and men respected him. Not to mention he wrote, played, produced and sang his own music. There will never be another Prince.
she's smart for connecting on the run by beyonce and jay, if u listen to them both, especially Beyonce, she always puts a Prince tribute in her music, she covered this song as well as the beautiful ones by Prince as well
You can ALWAYS count on Prince to bring 100% passion and FIRE to every performance. Decade after decade Prince gave you ALL the drama and a show to remember! That voice, those moves...iconic!
I loves me some Prince. A true musical genius. Always loved this song, but I never saw the video. So many people have covered and/or recorded Prince songs.
Remember, the mainstream cable music video stations were not playing black artists at first. So imagine the climate in the country, and what he was up against.
PURPLE RAIN was his most popular and commercially successful album but this album SIGN OF THE TIME was his true artistic masterpiece! To me musically and considering the multiple genres covered, it is THE GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME!
One of those Prince masterpieces that only he could do. The studio version is even better (imo). It'll be interesting to see what you think of the Madonna/Prince duet on 'Like a Prayer'.
It's came from his most critically acclaim and best album ''Sign O' The Times''. This album was a double album of 17 songs who he englobed a lot of styles, like hip-hop, RnB, rock, funk and pop. This song was only a minor when it's came out has the second single of the album, only reaching n.67. The shame that the song came between the two biggest hits of the album, the title track (n.3) and his duet with Sheena Easton ''U Got the Look'' (n.2). The song remains more successful in Europe then in US, while the two others singles of this album was also massive in Europe like in US. I listen the album in the last days and no doubt, this was his masterpiece, incredible production and a piece of art. ''Purple Rain'' was his best selling album, but this album was his most critically acclaim. A lot of musical books including this album in the list of one of the best albums of all time in music industry.
Jay Z and Beyonce both loved and respected Prince. When he did SNL 40 special Jay Z was fan girling when Prince was on stage. He is the best live performer you'll ever see and he has the large catalog in music history the largest Royalty revenue in music history. If you never saw Prince live , “ I Feel For You” (see what I did there 😄) , but no really, you’ll never see a better concert, saw him 6 times over a span of year from the early 80’s to the early 2000’s, and he never disappointed, he left a legacy of music so massive it would take a newbie years and years to catch up. Rest In In Eternal Heaven Prince Rodgers Nelson 🙏🏾💐🎸🎹🥁🎤🎼🎷🎺🎻💜😢🕊️
PRINCE KNEW HOW TO TOUCH ANY WOMANS WEAK SPOT SONGS LIKE THIS WOMEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE LEGEND PRINCE WAS SAYING HIS GOLD SINGLE IF I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND PRINCE KILLED THIS SHIT U CANT FUCK PRINCE .THAT BASSLINES JUMPING ONLY PRINCE CAN DO THAT LEGENDS LIVES 4 EVER
Yay, one of my all time favorites ❤️ More Prince gems: how come you don’t call me anymore, erotic city, sometimes it snows in April, I would die 4 u, what if god was one of us, anything from the sign o times
Aye! My cool musical friend reacting to my musical daddy! This made my Saturday better. And I had an opportunity to see Prince at a young age. It was the Lovesexy Tour at Civic Arena on October 28, 1988 (which was 25 days after I turned 6 years old). It was my first concert too. He not only inspired me as a black rock musician but he also inspired me to play all different instruments too
Once you've watched Purple Rain the movie, check out his movie Sign O The Times. This song is on that album and in the movie (the video is a clip from the movie). Such a romantic song - in a Prince way.
Yes, child! Beyonce was a HUGE fan of Prince. Jay Z- yes THAT Hov, stood in awe of the Purple One. Bey gave so many props to Prince it is rediculous. A student of music, it is understandable how much Prince influenced her disciplined approach to her art.
Prince is one of the few artist that a ten is not enough Empress. You must have a " Special 20 " for very very few artist. I can't think of more than five right now.. Prince and Michael J. are only two that gets the " Special 20 " so far....
Edited: Okay, it's actually "Do > I < believe in God?" "Do > I < believe in me?" All these years I thought it was "Do y'all believe..." But, I'm not giving up on my premise It might be the edibles but there are a lpt of things & he was way too enormous to be one of us. Besides, I'm bored so if you hear about a crazy woman in Southern California... get me outa the looney bin! And, he really does leave the Amen off The Lords Prayer. That's not something you do esp in Minnesota. It's not polite. I was 12 or 13 when I heard this new about 40 yrs ago. 💜 Someone gave me the record for my 14th b-day. But the poster got stolen at my slumber party 👿
Would you let me wash your hair? Could I make you breakfast sometime? Well then, could we just hang out I mean, could we go to a movie and cry together? 'Cause to me baby, that would be so fine (that would be so fine), ooh
Prince is the best of my generation, hands down. Please react to Kate Bush "Running Up That Hill", another song about gender relations and most importantly a kick-ass song from another genius of this era. czcams.com/video/wp43OdtAAkM/video.html
Prince the best overall talent you’ll probably ever see
yes!
We're blessed to have lived in His time.

Prince is pure magic. Someday, please treat yourself to a 80s Prince discovery journey!
🎟

Prince enters the building!
Prince is always a 10 in my book. My number 1 favorite artist of all time!!
You can ALWAYS count on Prince to bring 100% passion and FIRE to every performance. Decade after decade Prince gave you ALL the drama and a show to remember! That voice, those moves...iconic!
Prince Forever in my life is a good one as well
This was the best album of 1987 Sign of the Times by Prince. Prince is a genius. Check out the Ballad of Dorothy Parker, same album
PRINCE KILLING THAT BASS GUITAR THAT BASSLINE IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Sure do.

Thank F*** for Prince 👑
Yaaas!
Sign O The Times is my favourite Prince album………Such a shame he’s no longer with us….truly a musical genius
its like Milan Kundera sings in his book "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" thats the song i would choose
You should listen to the album version. He uses a speeded up voice.
A beautiful song!

Cute girl and cute voice...She sounds like the lead singer of straight line stitch...😅
This is two years old I hope you’re up-to-date on Prince’s catalog. Try sister mother lover wife.
Oh and this is not the whole song. The real long version is on the black album.

Kelela was also inspired by this song.
