- DCF500 compared to DCF510!
Kits shown here are the DCF500GG1 which comes with an oil resistant 12v with about 3ah ($260) and the DCF510GE2 ($279) which comes with two oil resistant 20v powerstack batteries that are about 1.7ah and a cool new DCB1102 charger. Over all the 12v is 1 pound lighter and 2 inches shorter with a higher rpm and a 1/4 anvil swap making it better for my use case but if you find yourself needing a 1/2 anvil with better torque the 20v is your choice. Goodluck finding a good price on the dcf500 at the moment the dcf510 seems to be a better deal seek to buy these ratchets at a lower price in the future. I'm still a little confused on why the 20v seems to have a slightly better build quality than the 12v.
Wow i didn't even realize there was an xtreme sealed head ratchet out til your video. Thanks man im definitely getting one i love dewalts 12v line. Great vid!!
Same! Got it for my birthday and was so happy with it!
thanks for doing this comparison. i was looking at getting either one of these to possibly replace my M12 high speed ratchet
The dcf500 seems like the best overall ratchet here but if you use 1/2 alot the 510 is solid and feels like a better quality tool no flex on any parts
Thanks for the video, I’m in the same dilemma at the moment. I don’t have any 12 V batteries but I have 20 V batteries, but I don’t really have a use for the half-inch since I have an impact.
Thanks for posting have the 510 love it aside from battery size. Have the 12v extended 3/8 which i friggen love. Looking forward to getting the 500b
Have you seen the new 500GG1? It looks awesome!
That’s the 12 volt model I talk about in this video, gg1 means it comes with a oil resistant 3AH a charger and a bag
I wonder if you could use the quarter anvil from the DCF500 in the DCF510. I think the reason they don't offer the quarter inch anvil in the 510 is that it would be too much torque and might snap fasteners.
U can’t use it, it’s a lot smaller
@@K.J.M.95 I guess what I meant to say is places like Harbor Freight make adapters from 3/8 to 1/4.
are the anvil/head interchangeable between the two? i find it frustrating the 510 doesn't have the 1/4 hex adapter
They unfortunately are not but imo the DCF500 xtreme is the better option if you need a cordless ratchet. A Smaller and lighter design allowing you to get into tight spaces for my use case I’m rarely in need of a 1/2 ratchet wrench I’m usually reaching for an impact wrench in those cases
@@K.J.M.95 i get that but at this point i don't want to spend on another set of 12v when i have lots of 20v to go around. plus the 510 abit cheaper right now. I do like the versatility of the 500 but id rather have something much smaller. Team red M12 comes to mind
@@oteckie the m12 is considered the best by many it is a great choice
What is the anvil hex outer diameter on the both?
I didn’t measure them when I had the v20 but it was bigger than the 12v and vice versa
Can you swap the anvil from 12v to 20v?
You can not they are different sizes
Whitch of the 2 should i get?
The limited time deal at Lowe's gets you two 1.7ah powerstack batteries with the dcf 510 for 275 which is a great deal especially if you expect to use the 1/2 anvil alot. For me personally the 1/4 &3/8 will get alot more use, that along with the much smaller size, weight, and higher speed makes it perfect for me; also I don't know if it's just me but the dcf510 feels better quality the trigger is less wobbly and the plastic feels nicer, it's either an XR thing or me just not understanding something about the xtreme line lol
allright, think i go with the 12v model, allready have the 1/2 inch dcf921@@K.J.M.95
