been loving my vertex v1s too!
500 Subs let's gooo I subscribed just last week and have been loving the content. Keep going!
Thank you!
Great list. I think WS Morandi deserves an honorable mention here though
Thanks! I felt the Morandi are more creamy sounding than Thocky which was why they weren’t on this list
ws morandi too much wobble
@@choopanthem the batch I bought didn’t have that bad of a wobble
Honestly was very disappointed when I received mine, seemed more clacky than thoccy
@@wang0220it's almost always board dependant really
When doing the stem wobble, its hard to see if the whole switch moves as well, maybe if there was a mount you could use instead of simply holding it? Or maybe you could try moving the keycap over it?
Yeah that’s a good idea I do want more tools to be able to show things better so I’ll have to figure out a way to do that! Thank you for the suggestion! 😊
What is the configuration on the zoom75 you're using to test these switches?
My Zoom75 I’m using POM plate and the rest stock
Have you tried any of rhe deeper HMX Switches ? Like the HMX Hibiscus
I haven’t tried that one out, I’ll have to try them out
I stay away from gateron switches cause of the stem wobble. I noticed my cream sodas wobbled a lot and I just can’t use them
That’s fair! I did notice on all the Gateron switches I had there was some wobble the smoothies I found had very little wobble
have you tried the ttc venus or neptune? i dont see a lot of people talking about them but they are pretty thocky
I haven’t tried those ones, but I’ll order them to try out. I’ve ordered a bunch of switches already but I want to definitely hear about more switches so I can do more tests and do an updated video 😁
i upgraded my vertex v1 with a 2 stage long spring and it feels more snappy!
What springs did you get
What keycaps are you using on that keybaord? Is it a zoom 75?
Yes, it’s a Meletrix Zoom75. It’s actually a mix of Keycaps. The main set is the Drop Bamboo Skylight and then I mixed it with another set that came with a new keyboard I got
Классное видео, очень информативно и хорошая картинка :) И звук очень хорош. Спасибо за видео. и привет и России ❤
You should try the Duhuk Matcha V4s, imo they're thockier than Vertex V1s in most boards,a little pricier though.
I’ll definitely take a look!
@@mikeytypes I'd also recommend:
OwlLab Neo Whites
BSUN Raw Linears
Aflion Blue Sky
TTC Venus/Neptunes
Sarokeys Strawberry Wine
If you're looking for more linear recommendations. Glad you tried the Vertex V1s btw. Glad you liked them.
i love how i can tell this guy is a gamer by the way he types with his left hand on wasd with pinky only on shift and his right hand has to stretch all the way to the f key.
Hahaha that’s how you could tell?
ah yes the number one is the cherry mx purples who wouldve thought?
Try the feker matcha switches and compare it to vertex v1
what do you prefer durock king linear or tactile??
I haven’t tried the tactile , but I prefer linear switches over tactile ones
If your boba U4Ts almost feel like a linear, then you've most definitely over-lubed it because it is meant to be very tactile
Sorry should have explained more into it like it feels tactile but very smooth, and I should have said what I was comparing my experience to which is like the Zealios V1 and the Epomaker Budgerigar which had a stronger tactile feel
Still using ks-3 yellows on the main board😅 other is u4t but want to buy v1 as well
The V1 is really nice!
Vertex V1 is a win. I am planning to buy Oil Kings but it is so expensive! and now it seems Vertex is equal or even better.
Sound wise, it seems deeper. But is it quieter or louder?
How about the smoothnes? Is it the best out of these?
I would say Vertex is smoother than the oil kings in terms of how loud it is both are similar
@@mikeytypesWhere can i find Vertex V1 switches?
@@mikeytypesSorry i meant the durock ice king switches.
@@Personan642 I had ordered mine from Divnikey
@@mikeytypes I wont ask another question again but where did you also get the vertex v1 switches?
Your #1 and #3 are basically the same sound signature.
The sound is very similar but the feel is quite different the Vertex V1 feels very smooth compared to the Gateron Blue Bubblegum
i liked
what are those keycaps? they look great!
It’s the Drop skylight Keycaps and then I had some other Keycaps I recently got that I thought would be a good mix that came with a keyboard I got
How do you rate the Gateron Oil Kings in comparison?
The Oil Kings I find are great, but I find them not as smooth
Glorious Panda, but hand lubed with dye sub pbt key caps. I have them and oil kings, and oil kings are more creamy to me.
I do have Holy Pandas and found them more clacky, but I should try out the glorious pandas as well
@@mikeytypes Depends of the board and mods also. I use Keychron Q1 with steel plate, tempest mode,pe foam on PCB and i use some kind of fiberfill from aquarium stuff of my girlfriend as it gave me the best sound results :D
@@Wolek96 that sounds interesting! I tried before aerogel foam but it was way too dusty. One thing I do want to do is build my own custom deepest sounding keyboard possible, so lately I’ve been studying up on the theory of sound
@@mikeytypes I suggest you to give fiberfill a try. It’s making keyboard sound amazing. I tried stock foam, sound dampening foam, pillow foam etc and for now fiberfill is straight winner. Now I only want to try silicon dampener, but have to find out from what can I cut good piece.
@@Wolek96 yeah I’ll have to try out fiberfill! Thanks for letting me know. I’ve tried aerogel foam, car sound dampener, keyboard dampeners they sell on Amazon, I even tried playdoh, but so far car sound dampeners for myself worked well
if you had to go with one stock what would you choose?
For stock I liked the Durock Ice King or the Aqua Kings
@@mikeytypes thank you i was looking for new switches and don't like to lube.
@@RageKilla12 no problem! Yeah they both come decently done stock I found. I just like to do a little extra
but what about deepest long pole linear, loud and deep
For myself I’m not a fan of loud switches as much, but is there one you like?
What are they all like for shine through, I've heard the Oil Kings are pretty poor for this.
Subbed btw 😄
Thanks for subbing! Oil kings are for sure poor for shine through. The Vertex also not the best for shine through but some light will come through.
@@mikeytypes nice, thanks for the quick reply!
@@aedards no problem!
Hi! As someone who doesnt know much about this hobby yet, are Akko's switches overrated? The most well viewed videos have only akko's switches but im starting to think its a marketing strategy. I really want a creamy sounding keyboard. Can you recommend some to me? What are the best brands out there?
Hello! Not a problem, there is so many things out there that it’s definitely not easy to decide. The reason for Akko in terms of creamy sounding keyboard is because the Akko Cream Yellow is actually one of the best creamiest sounding ones for the price. Akko makes quite a lot of budget switches that are well built and even for myself the Akko Creamy Yellow’s are in my Top 5. I do plan to do a Top 5 creamy Switches and I would say the more well known ones are Akko, Gateron, KTT, Kalih, Wuque Studio, HMX, JWICK
@mikeytypes if you don't mind, what's your top 5 creamy switches? Also if I'm not mistaken the akko regular cream yellow switch was discontinuated and now there's only the pro version. By watching some videos it sounds more clacky than the regular one, so do you know one that is in the same price range (maybe another linear from akko?) and sounds similar to the regular version?
@@xXMissPandinhaXx I don’t have the whole list yet I’m still trying to decide on which are my top 5 but so far I have the Gateron milky pro yellow as one, wuque studio Morandi sounds good but people have issues with the stem wobble.
@mikeytypes I'll definitely look it up, thank you so much for answering! If you ever post your top 5 please let me know
@@xXMissPandinhaXx hopefully I’ll be able to make the video in July, a little tough at the moment just because I got fully booked for keyboard reviews until mid July so hoping to be able to make it then!
can i ask what keyboard you use in the video?
Of course! I use the Meletrix Zoom75. It's my main board I use for all videos except gaming videos
On the typing test of vertex v1, is it lubed??
Yes, all switches lubed for full typing test
@@mikeytypes stock lubed or hand lubed?
@@equiknox_ I hand lube mine but will put like comparison between stock and lubed
what board are u using?
I’m using a Meletrix Zoom75
Make top 5 creamiest switches
Yeah I definitely should
I hear more pop than thock with all of those switches
That’s fair the Thocky sound is very person for me on the Meletrix Zoom75 I find those are Thocky comparatively
Epomaker Peace Lily??
do you mean the epomaker peace lily?
@@mikeytypes Yes that one? Thoughts on it?
@@thestreamreader I haven’t tried those ones, but now I will definitely have to get them!
I love them just ordered a 2nd set very well priced even off Amazon.
@@thestreamreader yeah the price isn’t bad 90 for like 40 dollars Canadian. I’ll definitely try them out I’m already out of my budget for this month on switches but definitely give them a go next month
Which thockiest support rgb?
Durock Ice King would be a good one because it’s transparent, but all of them you do see light just it’ll depend on how much light gets through. The Gateron oil king/bubblegum not as much light goes through same goes for the vertex
@@mikeytypes me currently use Vertex v1, the rgb not shining through my keycaps lololol but stock switches do shine through it
@@actimix9 yeah the vertex is very blocked off, but mine very lightly comes through, which is why for like RGB support I wouldn’t go with either the vertex, oil king or bubble gum and stick with the Durock Ice King. They are bit heavier but very smooth and Thocky, but I’m not much of an rgb on my keyboard person unless it’s my gaming keyboard which I have different profile for different games so I use it to know what profile I’m using
@@actimix9 but lately I have been wanting more clacky switches hahaha started to get bored of Thocky
i wanna sub super badly, hes super wholesome but yt WONT LET ME FUCKING SUB. 😭😭
😮
These aren't really thocky they're more creamy
The line between creamy and Thocky for sure is a thin line. Mostly dependent on keyboard used and personal preference. I personally go with more deeper sounding as Thocky and the feel of the keys itself
