The prices are even more crazy in Europe, I live in France and for the spec that you are testing you would have to pay 4799€ which is 5402$ currently, this is mindblowing to me.
Ridiculous!
Yeah man, it´s not worthy at all!! I´m waiting for Hp Omen 15 2022 Version😇
F
Gotta pay for that ''free'' healthcare somehow.
@@basshead. you think razer is funding healthcare? 🤨
For that price I can build a better desktop and hire someone to carry it around for me
😂
😄
🤣 bro
For most ppl thats the smart move. For ppl like me, my laptop is an extension of me, I need it around constantly. Especially when travelling.
Yes, but razor and it’s design is really advanced just like Mac. But they are not the best
Razer: you could just light money on fire, but overpay us instead. Also Razer: Pay us double what the hardware is worth because "build quality."
Cause there is "POTENTIAL MARKET" for everyone, people have too much money to spend, don't know what to do with it, end up spending on things they don't need.
reminds me of what Apple used to do
I actually got my razor laptop for much cheaper then other equivalents so idk did I get ripped off?
Never understood the comments about Razer laptop's "good build quality". I've had nothing but QC issues that was replaced only to have motherboard die out 6 months later on my first and last Razer Blade. The Aluminum chassis is also nowhere near durable as Magnesium Alloy + Carbon material used on premium laptops from other brands.
@@blue4059 Had the exact same experience with my 2017 Blade 14. First and last razer laptop I've owned. The build quality at first glance and by reviewers leaves a good impression, but their QC and reliability issues are pretty legendary at this point. That along with terrible customer support.
Cool, now Razer has a 4k feature in terms of screen resolution and in price

@@n.m.e5787 yeah I reported it too

I, for one, really appreciate what Razer is doing here.
You see, a laptop is much more than just performance at any cost. It includes the design, portability, battery life, noise levels and the overall experience to use.
I personally don't need a hotbox that cooks itself to 100ºC, sounds like a jet taking off and weights like a brick. I much rather have a computer with high binned components, tuned in such a way that it performs relatively well, is silent and well cooled.
But yeah, I agree the price hike is terrible.
As a previous Razer Blade owner, I topped mine out with the highest of all options for around $2500. This one topping out over $4K is ridiculous. I will definitely be waiting for a big discount or looking for a near competitor next time.
Yeah I'd be waiting for a discount code or something, it's getting out of hand.
The Lenovo Legion lineup might be a near competitor you can look into. I bought a Legion 7 AMD RTX 3080 for $2300 from Lenovo's online website. Those are pretty high specs for half the price of what Razer is asking you to pay.
@@SeemsLogical I appreciate the input, but I don't really see it as a competitor or viable alternative. The Lenovo has a very "gamery" aesthetic compared to the Razer Blade and its build quality isn't even in the same ballpark. You pay more for the Razer Blade for its impeccable build quality with aluminum unibody design, per-key RGB (first in the industry), better screens, better trackpad, vapor chamber cooling, etc. Plus, the Legion's just plain bigger, especially with the vents in the back. And the power brick is massive compared to the Blade's small one. The reason the Legion and others are so much cheaper is because they cut corners on build quality and components to maximize the CPU and GPU. And that's fine if those are the most important thing for you and you usually use the laptop at a desk on an external monitor. But as a complete package, as an actual laptop, it's not a competition. I used my Blade all around the world. Took it to Europe, Asia, Egypt, even on safari in Africa. I could count on it and it was the perfect portable package.
@@SeemsLogical i bought a Lenovo Legion 7 too for $2000
@@genlongtsang1093 I got last year's model back in June. I could have waited a bit longer for the 2022 model to release in August but at the time it was unknown when it would release and I didn't need the newest version.
Mine is the AMD version with 3080, which version did you get?
Disappointing to see to price increase this much despite the performance being so underwhelming. I love the razer design, build quality, and performance but at the price point of $3700 - $4000 I don't see any justification for the average power user when there's already a lot of great options that are still sleek and allow for more thermal/power headroom.
I'm looking forward to seeing this compete again the ROG Zephyrus M16 with the same 3080Ti spec since the GPU in the Zephyrus has a little bit higher TDP.
It also has a larger batterh
I think the "performance/cost" analysis is a fair assessment for desktops, but when we're talking about laptops, you have to factor in everything. I don't see the issue with paying money that goes towards something other than performance.
@@Nathan-tg4gu but it doesn't win the portable category either - and it doesn't the balance performance and portability as great as competitors - or even its 14" counterpart. There's no justification
@@theinktician So you've added one dimension to your analysis: portability. There's still many more...
I agree. An increase was expected… maybe a couple hundred. But $700 more in one single year? That is a massive increase and totally unjustified. I guarantee their laptop sales will tank for 2022. Then in 2023 they will lower them back down a bit to improve sales. I would pay $3,000 for this laptop but not $4,000. That is a car.
The QHD 240Hz RTX 3080 ti model costs £4099.99 in the UK... That's more than double what I paid for my Legion 7 R7 + 3080. These 3080 ti laptops make zero sense to me unless you have more money than sense.
Ridiculous prices, totally not worth it!
For how much that cost, I could upgrade my cpu. That includes, 12th gen cpu, ddr5 ram, plus a new cooler and yes a new motherboard. Razer is charging way to much plus not the best customer support... yikes. Though 2022 models come standard with a 2 year battery warranty
While razors mouses are fantastic and their headsets are alright, yeah these laptops are stupidly priced
@random viewer lmao ok
Great reviews, I have the 2021 Blade 14 with the 3080 and was looking to upgrade but looks like I'll be keeping what I have longer.
Exceptional review, very well-made!
Hmmm I think I saw you somewhere else
Thank you so much for the Video.
If possible Id love to see one regarding the 17 inch one with the same specs regarding CPU GPU and Display.
With the lack of GSync, I'd probably go for the 240Hz or 360Hz panels, as I can still notice when I'm above the Gsync range of my 165Hz monitor (I limit the FPS most of the time).
I am so glad I bought a full option 2021 Blade Advanced last year when it launched after saving up for a while. The reason I am happy is because they dropped the OLED screen option on the 2022 models so I now own a collectible.
wait how do know know? bro hi
@@DrayAntonio You can look it up. Google Razer dropped oled option.
@@cemsengul16is probably going to be back in a few years
I love my OLED razer, I'm hoping by the time I need to upgrade they'll drop one with a 120hz oled
@@RadaSmada Same. The only upgrade path for us is a high hertz OLED. We can't go back to peasant matte LED backlit displays with piss poor color and black and backlight bleed. Did you notice we have uniform lighting without a hint of backlight bleed on the corners since the pixels themselves light up?
4K for 4K
Do you think these would be great for video editing and general content creation, as well as game development (which is why I’m thinking this over the newer MacBooks)?
Hi. Great review and exactly what I was looking for in terms of breakdown. Do you happen to know if this model or the 3070Ti Model have a MUX switch in them?
Affording Razer is my only life goal after watching it's price no cap
You might want to reevaluate your life's priorities, friend
2999$ for a 3070ti razer
id rather wait for a lenovo legion 4080ti for that price

Razer has bad quality control, they have the most issue reported even not the most bought laptop.
If you want to compare battery life across devices with different panels, you could also test it with the panels off, maybe connected to an external display.
Hey there, Could we get a Razer 17 blade 3080ti review as well maybe? It could be a good competitor to the ge76 with the better tdp and cooling
Also note for this type of battery test, It translates to 50% of real life usage. So no you wont get 7.5 hours, you will get 3.75
Yeah , this is so true lol
Most reviews' battery tests are for comparison purposes and not true to real usage. This is one of those channels.
If you want realistic laptop battery life measurement, refer to - Ultrabookreview, Dave2D and Just Josh.
really that little battery life? Damn I want to see how long the new razer 14 will last. I want a long lasting battery on a gaming labtop.
@@theholt2ic219 yea unfortunately its pathetic. If you want any mobility you just have to go with ryzen or apple

Can you please review the new Alienware X14? That one got me really excited
Great and detailed review. I was considering ordering the 2022 model equipped with 4K display but after watching your review i will invest my hard-earned money into something else. Thanks a lot
At last a full review of the 2022 razer.
Something tells me to wait to see if razer bring out a PRO model mid year like they normally do. I've wanted a razer for so long now but bought the X17 i9 last year, isn't worth the upgrade just yet.
Was thinking of getting one but thanks for clearing things out
Btw you used a ":" instead of "-" on the first two timestamps in the description
Thanks for fixing it!
would love to see comparing benchmark of the Alienware X17 R2 in there with MSI 76 ♥
Would you recommend the i7 - 12800H RTX 3070 Ti version for someone that mostly edits videos alongside general productivity work (writing for my business etc..)? I do have aspirations for doing some game development and 3D work too.
Basically trying to decide between this and the MacBook m1 max (which arguably would be worse for game dev and 3D), but would rock for general productivity (mostly due to battery life) and video editing (because of the encoders/decoders)
M1 mac is better
Such useful benchmarks. TY!
Nice video.
But would be great if we could actually hear fan noise comparison. Db doesn’t help much to most of the people. Noise if one of the most important when if comes to performance.
Great video. I have to ask...What is the deskmat we see in every video of yours? You know the blueprint "workmat" @ 07:00 . Where can I get one of those, please?
I'm looking to upgrade my 2018 Razer Blade 15 - I really like the slim no-frill aesthetic of these machines but it's hard to stick with the Razer brand after experiencing serious hardware issues on an annual basis since first buying.
I'm here with a early 2019 advanced 2080MQ still going strong. Disappointed that the price has increased so much.
Yeah I have the 2070 MQ same year and it's been brilliant - still working like the first day... The prices are getting ridiculous now agreed ...
if the temps are cool can we just crank up the watts on it to gain huge performance?
Can you do a review on the Razer Blade 17 advanced max specification once you can get your hands on it?
Watching this on my 2019 Razer 15 Base Model w/ 1060 Max Q. Not a workhorse like my PC but did well for college and gaming (R6, EFT, Halo Infinite). Not a fan of price but Razer has stepped up their quality.
The official hardware specs on the laptop you reviewed state 95W performance and since it has GPU boost it can boost up to 110w. was this a setup error that you maxed out at 80w, and thus suffered performance hits, or are razers specs incorrect?
1:52 Yeah, I've heard that a lot over the years
I'm almost certain the price increase is mostly tied to the memory, with a smaller portion of the increase tied to the GPU market trends, not chip shortages (relative to last year)
what a great review dude, thank you :)
FYI, I had a 2019 blade 15 advanced model, fan noise + heating issue was crazy since day 1.
My god, $2500 for the base 3060 model?!?
Glad to see that "Razer tax" is only getting higher as years go on.
This is where a single vendor has been a general misstep for companies for a while and a perfect example. By only using Intel with the exception of last years Razer 14, they got stuck with a situation where their goals don't match what their primary partner is supplying. Alderlake is the perf king this gen. But while they have been pushing for that perf crown. AMD has been designing their cores for huge core counts under limited power per core settings and their apu's to sip power. To the Point that AMD's laptop silicon tops out at about 45-50w, itll take more power, but its clocks won't go up. What this means is sure in a unlimited setting Alderlake might be better, in a manageable power level in a normal size chassis, its probably better. But it loses a lot in systems like this, you have heavy battery hit and marginal preloads benefits.
If they had been designing these systems for both systems. They have the option to offer this system with AMD CPU and get better portability results and better gaming perf.
im planning to buy razor blade 15 but unsure whether i would benefit from buying intel i9 or intel i7 as i heard you get the same performance due to the limited voltage of this laptop?
Sweet laptop review Eber 🥰👍🤩. The pricing I’m sure is multi-factored …. Covid / Razer Overpricing / Blade Pricing / Nvidia resetting their RRP MSRP for the “Ti” line. In the end consumer gets the raw end 🤦♀🤦♂🤦♂😭
Thank you for the video, I really though I was going to get the 3080ti i9 version but after seeing the gaming and editing benchmarks my opinion has been heavily swayed to stay away from the 3080ti. Considering they want like an extra $1000, I have to say that it's really not worth it, even if you have the spare money, what's the point lol.
That sponsor segment tho! xD
While it seems pretty sweet, I picked up an ex display RTX 3080 Zephyrus G15 for £1800 which consistently runs the 3080 at 100W on turbo, while the base 3060 model Blade costs £2800 in the UK. I'm pretty happy with my decision.
I just got this review’s model on ebay for £1600 brand new. G15 Rtx 3080 32gb ram laptops could be had in like new condition for £1350 in 2022.
Another amazing video. 👏 could you do a comparison of a razerblade 2022 qhd i712800h with 3070ti vs alienware x15 r2 i712700h 3070ti please.
Thanks for the benchmarks! This clearly shows that the top tier version is not worth the value even tho it looks good on paper. Going for the i7 12800h in combination with 3070ti saving 1k and getting similar performance results.
I just ordered mine same specs, what do you think?
can you start putting links with the music you put in the videos?
I don't get the consternation about the performance. Your own benchmarks show the new Blade 15 consistently outperforming the 120W Strix G15, trading blows with the 150W Legion 7i, especially at 1440p, and staying within a stone's throw of the 150W Raider. That's impressive for a system with a 90W GPU.
The biggest drawback for me currently is the thermals coming off the CPU, thing throttles down because it is constantly peaking at 100 C. I was afraid I got a bad application of thermal paste, but I have heard all the CPUs on the 15 and 17 run hot. Can anyone else confirm this?
I have the Razer Blade 15 (Late 2020) model. I don't remember if it was advanced or base. I upgraded my ram and my ssd and added a 2nd ssd. Yesterday I tried to pull the fans out before noticing the replacement ones I ordered were the wrong ones. When I put it back together the speakers had no sound just went tick on the right speaker. tick tick tick... I was devastated until I realized one of the fan screws pinched the speaker wire and shorted it out. I was able to fix it with electrical tape and now it works again but the fans still run faster then the flash when hes time traveling because the fans are somewhat dirty still. I got 98% of the dirt out but its a bit sticky :(
So now I am looking at getting a new one sometime this year and love seeing videos on the newer models. Mine is still using a 1660 TI and thats not that great anymore lol Cant wait to get a better one its been 4 years I have been using this thing and its def taken a beating.
just uploaded a side by side with RBP17i9 3080ti vs 21 RBP17 i9 3080
THANK YOU for the Tip with the THX Spacial Setup turned off.. i got the 2021 Model for almost a Year now and didn't change it until now - i just thought the speakers are that bad
Thank you , very detailed
Great review, thanks. I love the design, but based on this, can't see a reason to switch from my current blade 14 with the 5900hx cpu and 3070. I might look next year (that 16gb ram cap is kneecapping some of my vmware labs I like to do) but sounds like the intel chip isn't such a big jump this year that it would justify switching machines
please do a latencyMon test! takes a minute
How can you make sure which one is the thunderbolt 4 ? Is there any physical way ? Has a different color ? Thanks !
I would love to see more affordable laptops. I don't think majority of people would get 4k dollars laptop.
I wish they'd just release a mercury white version of the blade 15 already
Awesome video, thank you.
A scathing review. Thanks you just saved me buying it on adverts ie lol
Found this open box under $1700 for 32GB as well. I hope it holds up.
Razor did say prices were going to go up a little while back
How about the Asus ROG M16, and the new G14 has 500 nits, where did you get 335 from? Other reviews of these laptops has been messured close to specification
This is great for bringing to school
I love my macbook air m1
They finally made changes to the keyboard and speaker grills. They should have made the speaker grills like the MacBook. Because the 2021 grill attract a lot of tiny dust particles
Please review the new MSI Z17 2022 creator laptop
@hardwareCanucks this laptop with QHD+ 144hz, 3080Ti,32GB and 1TB is on sale for 1900CAD, as you may recall this SKU used to be 4500CAD not too long ago. Would you recommend the SKU I mentioned for 1900CAD? I mean I can't find a decent 4060 for the same money. I noticed in your benchmarks it was between full fledged 3070 and 3080 variants, so it is somewhere around 4070 performance. Thoughts?
This is on sale vs a 2023 variant with a 4060.. what would you choose?
Can we charge the laptop through USB-C for light use on the go ?
Hey team great review, though $$ are what they are due to the markets. I just received my 2022 Blade 15. TGP is 110w max same Blade 15 version you have with 4k, not sure the difference of yours. In my opinion, still low and struggles where it shouldn't given it's a 3080ti, but it's not 80w.
Should review the 17” model TDP is better and priced around the same as the 15”
I note you do not review Alenware laptops, i.e. the X15 / 17 R2? I think the last Alienware you revised was 3 years ago?
Its an important reminder about power wattage/laptop size (ie energy consumption) and therefore in certain cases a 3070 ti is effectively as good if not better because of massive price difference than 3080/ ti. Cheers.
They do build quality, screens, and I/O well. But that limited GPU TDP and price are dealbreakers. Let's see what Lenovo can deliver here.
looking at the top tier price, I'm so glad I got a open box return of a razor blade advance with a 2070 for $1,500. All because some kid wanted a macbook instead
Should've added Macbook pros to the benchmark mix
Please do review Asus Zephyrus G14(2022).
Eagerly waiting for that.
Comparison b/w G14(2022) vs Razor Blade(2022)
A software engineer just sold me his for $1300 on marketplace and it came with an extra 2tb Samsung 980 pro. It’s obviously last years model but this thing it’s nuts for the price I paid for it. I absolutely love it so far.
am i the only one who absolutely loves these laptop reviews despite having little knowledge about laptop specs.
Im still using the 2070 max Q, works just fine :)
massive price jump indeed but you have to consider inflation which has been massive. this was inevitable. And I don't even have a PC, I'm a Mac guy so I have no horse in this race
how do you get 10 hours battery life on the 2021 RB15? i can barely eek out 5 hours and this is with alot of battery life optimization done.
The 15 goes for 1899 now I want to do video editing and some light animation is it worth it ??
what are the colour gamuts in (srgb%, adobe rgb%, DCI P3%) for each of the displays options (UHD, FHD, 4K, OLED) for the razer blade 15 rtx 3080ti variant.
I'm one of the lucky guys who call the Razer Blade 15 2022 his own.
As an engineer, I got to admit, Razer did an amazing job this time.
I put liquid metal on top of the gpu/cpu and managed to reduce the temps up to 15 degrees less!
I also installed a FireCuda 530 plus the stock M.2 SSD to have some more storage.
Attention, the FireCuda 530 (double-sided) does not fit in the Razer Blade 15 2022 and needs some custom mounting.
The noise level is also quite comfortable and in production you rarely notice it even under heavier load.
Battery life is almost not existing if on 240Hz refresh!
I have the 12800H + 3080 TI. I don't recommend the 12900H(K), 4K model!
Also, get a cooling pad to help prevent battery bloat and check the battery regularly just like the breaks of your car!
Does the double-sided version of the FIreCuda offer extra storage? Or just faster?
@@Weird_Quests it's the 4TB version, the fastest with the best reliability and longevity. I recommend you watch some reviews as well.
I keep asking this...how is the speakers? Seriously with the price you should have the macbook pro 16 inch speaker quality....
Unfortunately if you look at the competitors the pricing is going to be similar. Alienware x15 r2 top model about the same, more disk though. Chalk up price increases to markets and supply chain issues, it's not just Razer.
I just went for it while on sale for 2000 euros. I hope its worth the money
I just put my old 13 inch razer blade on the shelf and picked ut the blade 15 3070ti. Can i ask how you got 7 hours, it dranis the battery super fast just surfing. I bought it since i do mainly daily tasks at it like talking to clients, office etc but also a fair amount of photoshop. I was hoping for atleast some battery time but now even with screen at 60% and only internal grafics i cant get much more than 2 hours. I still have the option of retuning it but i would much rather make it work.
any advice would be greatly aprechiated.
Hey there, so how channels like HC do battery tests don't reflect actual real life battery drain. It's just for comparison between different devices they benchmark! However, I myself have owned a blade 15, I was able to get about 2hrs-3hrs of battery life by dropping to the lowest brightness option, rgb off, battery saver on and 60hz. Im now running the alienware x17 r1, I have a 4k 120hz panel but I crank it down to 1440p or 1080p when unplugged to extend the battery life a bit. I turn the rgb off, quiet mode, battery saver, 1080p/1440p, 120hz, brightness on about 50% and I get about 3hrs - 3.5hrs. Intel gaming devices have horrible battery life, all generations of them. Only AMD and Mac have incredible battery life, it's something you'll have to get used to, at least for the near future! Hope this helped!
It’s about time manufacturers give us some bigger arrow keys
The one problem on a razers laptop, you cant get any replacement parts on the web, it isnt common and no ones selling... If you do see one its came from teardown one that has defective some the parts and others can be salvageble
What do you mean about the design? Isn’t apple doing the same thing with their laptop design which is the same almost each year with the box design
I went for the Alienware M15 R7. Same specs, less expensive.
Anyway to overclock the GPU to push it to at least 100w?
