German Shepherd Chained To Fence Gets Rescued, But Then We Found Out His Story

- This dog had been chained to a fence, with no shelter. The owner of that property said the dog was a stray and that he would chase his livestock, so he tied him up.
But when we scanned him for a microchip, it turned out he had one, and his owners lived in a nearby village. So we contacted them, and they confirmed he ran away from their home 2 months ago, but they asked us if we can take the dog and rehome him, as they have several other dogs and can no longer take care of so many.
So now Lupin is in our care at @HowlOfADog and we need to find a new family for him.

Lupin is BEAUTUFUL-- what a pretty face! Such a shame he had to live outside, tied up with no protection from the weather. But I am so happy you rescued him.

Owners who keep multiple dogs should be aware that their responsibilities and costs will increase with the number of dogs.
I hope you can find a nice home for Lupin. The man who put him on a chain was heartless. He didn't even check to see if he was microchipped. Why didn't he build some sort of shelter for him and give him some toys to make his life less boring? Oh well, all is for the best as the right people have him. He is very nice looking and healthy, so hopefully he gets a home soon.

Looks like the start of a hoarding situation. I wouldn't be surprised if this couple gets in trouble one day. Big hearts don't always mean a good situation for the animals.

Too many great dogs are forgotten, left to struggle and die in apathy. Lupin is a great dog you can see it in his eyes and his mannerism. He’s trying so hard to be accepted. Glad you got him out. He’ll find a home. ❤🐕

I would like to add .we've been conned by others .who tell us love cures all .ive met many people in these types of situations. believing all these dogs need is to be loved. this is what their love does. im not mad. i am concerned,for the dogs. and their humans, its hoarding and it needs to be addressed .what was done with the other . dogs .i appreciate all you did .you did more than anybody. thats for sure, more than i could, again im not critizing i have no right .

I feel sad for the dogs left with the original owners. Did they have shelter from the rain, etc? Will you keep watch over them? Thankyou for your work.
There was an outbuilding in the backyard, that's where the dogs were staying. We stay in touch with the family because we also have to spay one of the female dogs they have, which is not spayed yet, she's just 4 months old so we need to wait a few more months to be able to spay her.

Happy beautiful face loved being rescued, I believe that old woman was lying why did she need a broom hope she doesnt hit those dogs.
But the dogs showed no fear of the broom.

@@rosejackson8835 The dogs were playing with the broom. We cannot know for sure how Lupin escaped and got to the other village which was about 15 km away. But it's very unlikely that the owners abandoned him. He had a microchip, if their plan was to get rid of the dog they wouldn't have microchipped him in the first place. Even the mere fact that they microchipped him, which costs money, shows they had no mean intentions. Yes, it's true that they don't have the ideal conditions there, but they are a very poor family and from the little they have they make sure the dogs are never hungry.

A dog chasing livestock is no reason to be cruel.
and i only have 60 euro a week for shopping, and smoke, but in time i repay them bc they did somuch good work over the years , while i had near to nothing..
😡😡😡😡IF THEY KNOW HES BEEN THERE FOR AT LEAST 2 months with no protection, and I’m guessing no food or water….why hasn’t someone called the police and charged the owners of this property with animal abuse? THEY BELONG BEHIND BARS! 😡
I believe what they say…..that anyone heartless enough to abuse an animal….can easily do harm to a child or adult human! So……these owners are BAD people and need to be punished so they don’t abuse another animal or god forbid, a human being! 😡😡😡😡🤦♀️

He wouldn't have survived 2 months without water and food. It says he was fed. However, not having any weather protection for 2 months is cruel

What does Lupin mean in English?
Not sure about the meaning in English, but in Romanian it's related to "wolf" (the Romanian word "Lup" means "wolf")
