I was so happy to see a new podcast pop up in my notifications! I love all the SSC yarns you have ready. I need to gather all the yarns I want to use this week. I need to start making a list of the sweaters you are knitting. I’ve never made one, but you are inspiring me to try making one! Thank you for a great podcast!
You are so welcome! Don’t be scared to try any sweater you want. Just step by step read the pattern and you’ll have a sweater. That’s what I’m doing with the new sweater I cast on last night. I was kind of intimidated by the brioche tuck stitch but it’s not complicated at all. I just did what each row said to do and I’m loving it 😍
Gosh fabulous knitting projects and lots of great plans. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! 😊
You are the 3rd person I have seen using the Straighten Your Crown yarn this Spring. I have been debating on casting on something with mine too. There must be something yellow in the air!!! That sock looks like a pineapple!!
Thank you!
I’m so excited for SSC! My kids last day of school is Wednesday, so looking forward to not setting alarms and all the knitting time.
I’m ready to sit and knit in the sun.
I am participating in SSC for the first time, this year. Today (Monday), I am finishing off the toe of the second sock of the pair of my needles, so I will be ready to start a new pair on Friday. I like knitting one pair at a time, concurrently, using DPNs.
You seem really well organised for your summer of socks!

Somehow I have never made the connection that the Second Breakfast socks are a waffle-like pattern. Breakfast, waffles - how did I not connect those dots? 😂
It took me a bit too. 😂
I have some knitpicks stroll glimmer bare yarn if you need it
You’re so kind. I have some sparkle yarn coming. I’ll keep you in mind if it doesn’t work out.
Just a question about using that sock ruler….when you say,” I have to get between a 7-8 on the “women’s” grid, is that when you start the toe for a size 7-8 shoe or what does that size mean and how long is your actual foot length (which is different from a shoe size…
I wear a seven and a half in women’s shoes so I knit to between the 7 and 8 then start the toe decreases on the next round. I haven’t actually measured the length of any of my socks after knitting them. I have measured my foot length and it’s 9.25 inches long. So I knit from the heel to about 7 inches and toe section should be about 2 inches. (When I didn’t have the sock ruler, that is how I did it) I think the sock ruler is in shoe sizes not inches. But they have all fit, even my gift socks when I know the shoe size. I’ll try to remember to talk about this in my next video.
