why place the center channel horizontally when you hv transparent screen? now the horizontal frequency respponse will have dips and people sitting in the corner wont hear the same sound.
but Good preamp, amp and speaker choice, could have gone like for SVS for subwoofer.

What is the optimal SPL required for the theatre room size cubic ft in ur project so as to know fully exploiting the power amplifier.
The Optimal SPL at the sweet spot is between 83 to 85db. However it peaks to 91db. Since these speakers are THX certified and Marantz Poweramps tend to emit smoother or rather diffused sound..91db peaks are not too loud,

Sure sir. This speakers are designed to be installed horizontally too. However to get optimum throw we can place it vertically. We may correct this. Thank you for your feed back.
Do you think this processor will match the speakers… dont think so….this will be not a match.. i would suggest anthem avm 70 or avm 90 will be a perfect match why didnt you suggest your client.. Since calibration is most important and audyssey doesn’t do that great.. others things that you have told are perfect… since you told in the video that processor and amplifier is the brain for the home theater you would have suggested a better one.. just my thought..
You are right! It is very easy to say this for a Home Theater enthusiast like yourself. But as an Installer, I have to work with the budget allotted for this HT. It has to be balanced. It should cover Acoustics, Seating, Display and Audio equipment. If customer is able to push the budget to accommodate AVM70 who are we to stop it. Customer is not an audiophile, he is in beginner stage, He experienced these speakers at one of his friend's HT and decided to go for it. While comparing to others, who quoted these speakers with AV receiver , we are the only ones who quoted with Separates and Power amp with a bunch of dealers convincing the customer that AVR is enough for these speakers. Customer is not aware of the nuances of separates and Poweramp. We had to convince the customer to atleast go for this system which is now installed. We cannot compromise on acoustics, since it is one time investment. However, these equipment can me upgraded in 3 or 4 years when customer reach that maturity of audio listening. As of now, I think we did pretty much decent job for the budget allotted. As far as Audyssey is concerned, we do not have other option. Marantz and Denon AVRs and Processors go hand and Glove with this calibrator. We use REW for 2 channel calibration. To calibrate 11.2 ch setup, we are left with Audyssey. However, we have a paid version of it which does better job than the inbuilt one, In this paid version, we get to tweak the speakers and especially subs. Other Software requires external DSP which is out of budget. We have calibrated the speakers and subs and it is working fine.
My question here is did you suggest the customer with the options like which i mentioned.. think so as per the speakers you have shown in the video customer is mainly looking for quality rather than budget.. since you have installed focal speakers, anthem or any other pre’s with parasound amps would have given more convincing and better sound than the marantz
Yes we recommended Anthem , due to budget constraints we had to work this out with marantz .

Are you by any chance promoting marantz pre and power? Because i see you have not given importance to the speaker pre power matching. Focals tend to go better with other pre powers like Naim Bryston anthem parasound McLintosh.. Why don't you educate the customer about this and make the matching between speaker pre and power perfect. He has spent more than 5 lakhs for speakers alone.. But those martnz are not prefect for these focals.. Irrespective of whether you use magnat or focal you always suggest marantz.. Is there a specific reason for this?
We usually give 3 to 4 price quotes in different budgets. We are not the only ones who have quoted for this customer. This customer is at the beginner level when it comes to audio. All of the other dealers had quoted av receivers and we were the only ones who suggested the customer to go for pre and power. Lots of consideration went into the discussions and we shortlisted marantz pre power due to the budget. Customer was clear about the speakers that he listened to it at one of his friends place, but he was deviated and confused whether to go for avr or prepower as many dealers insisted himnto go for avrs . We also Deal with anthem and emotiva. But Marantz are the only package that came into customers budget. Yes lots of education went into this to atleast considering pre and power instead of avr.
