For those watching, I believe in order to edit the appropriate preferences in QuickBooks Desktop you have to be operating in single-user mode. If you currently have multi-user mode enabled, you'll need to switch back to single-user mode temporarily to make the changes indicated in this video. After setting everything up properly, you can switch back to multi-user mode.

Hello, thank you for the effort made to explain, but I want to know whether it is possible to create mutual synchronization between the two parties, so that if I edit in QuickBooks for Accounts, the amendment will be made at the point of sale and vice versa, meaning if I sell in QuickBooks for Accounts, QuickBooks at the point of sale will be affected.
Can you do this if the softwares are running on different computers?!
Great content. Thank you for these informative videos. Question: we're a wholesale business and we're not charging sales tax. However, we do have a markup on items for which we pay excise tax. I learned how to set up departments in POS and apply the excise tax markup to those items. However, when I'm connecting POS to QB Accounting, it is asking me to turn on the sales tax. Why?

Hi! So, we’ve been using quickbooks pos since November, and the owner just decided to get the qb desktop for internar control. My question is, we have already made the accounting for 2020, is there a way to only import o synchronized pos transactions from a specific date? Is it possible to have Quickbooks Accounting on a separate computer from Quickbooks POS, if so how is that setup?
Yes it is possible, but not recommended, because then you are pushing the POS info through the network. Recommended setup is POS and accounting on Main Register. Then, share the QB Company File folder, and run the QB Database manager. On the second computer, install QB Accounting and access the shared folder. This way, you can still access QuickBooks on the second computer, but the Company File is housed on the Main POS. This is Intuit's recommended setup.

You will want to make sure Vendor Billing Info is checked in Preferences --> Company --> Receiving. This will enable bills to show up in QB Accounting after you enter an Invoice Number on the Receiving Voucher.
Why does it affect my customer balances when I sync with pos?
Things that are charged to account in POS will be moved to customer balances.
After I connect, I try to create an estimate or invoice in Quickbooks Accounting but my products aren't being displayed. Did I do something wrong?
When you have POS connected to QB Accounting, you are not meant to use items back and forth interchangeably between the two programs. You can still create items in QB Accounting and then make estimates & invoices. But what you should really do is ring someone up in POS, then charge it to account. This will automatically make an invoice in QB Accounting under that person's name. If you need to estimate, you can use POS Sales Order and then edit the Print Template to say "Estimate." From there, you can convert the sales order to the receipt screen, and charge to account --> ending up with an invoice in QuickBooks Accounting. While it is on account (an invoice), customers can pay at the POS, or in QuickBooks, or through a payment link in the invoice email.

Unfortunately I don't have the different versions, but I think the problem lies within different types of tax facilities within the QuickBooks. Therefore I'm not sure it'll actually work.

Not as of yet.
Can I do this if I have POS on one computer and Accounting on another?
It is possible but not recommended. You would also install QuickBooks accounting on the POS computer, and open the company file through a network share.
