I like this format a lot. I actually watched the premiere and came back to watch the video again. Used to sing bass, but nowadays I whistle instead (long story) so the tenor part is a good fit.
Tried singing along with all of the parts, but I really can't sing except in the shower, so I'm going to stick to humming this one for the rest of the day. Thank you Julien for continuing to sing the classics. Much appreciated.
I thought this was going to be Tell Me Why by the Beatles, but this was impressive! The harmonies are lovely, and I especially like that all of the voice parts get a lot of movement.
I learned this song in sixth grade. The boys sang the melody (lead) and the girls sang the harmony (the tenor line here). I still remember it to this day, except that I remember the last two lines of the second stanza as "Because God made you/That's why I love you." Well done, Julien -- thank you for the memory!
Absolutely love this video format! Please do more like this, with the sheet music in view and each part focused! This makes it so much more fun to sing together with friends!
Shivers of delight -- I learned this in college, several decades ago, and haven't heard it since. Thank you SO much for taking the trouble to divvy this into parts, carefully labeling each one. Yes, I was singing along, my eyes stinging with tears. What a wonderful antidote for "sheltering in place"!
Hmm...I think most women would want a more specific answer to the question. LOL. Nice job Julien! I am always amazed at your range and how well you sing each part. It's fund to sing along, and at home no body cares if you mess up a note or two!
Half of why I love your videos so much is the beauty of your arrangements and your voice. The other half is how much fun you appear to be having! You make me smile!
I love how you sing with that dark tone and still place it so forward! I’ve actually never heard anyone sing barbershop like you and ive been following you for almost 8 years!
What an interesting layout. I enjoyed it separately, but the real one is the complete one. With it, you help those who love and cultivate the accapella themselves.
My pleasure. :) If you are interested in the breakdown of the many other songs on my channel, you'll find such learning tracks on my website (see video description for the links).
I love it! I find it hard to pick out Baritone in every quartet, but you made it simple to learn such a beautiful tune. Thank you for your hard work Julien!
This was so awesome and just what I needed today since I can’t rehearse with my chorus! Thanks for doing this. Please make more content in this format.
This SOUND. I wish I could hear this man sing live because I am kinda in love with the sound. Such a full, well-rounded, and academic voice in all the parts! Even though there is a preferred register, all the parts have a good strong sound. (If the phrase "academic voice" is weird it's cause that's a direct translation from Russian. I don't know what else to call it except maybe "classical vocal"? It's the rounded sound. Sorry for the oddness most of my musical training - the little bit that I have - was in Russian)
Julian you are super awesome singer. Thanks so much for this video I hope you make more videos.god bless you my friend 🙏 praying for you and your family.
Thank you so much for the new song! I enjoyed both the song and the new format/opportunity to harmonize. At first, I sang the lead part (it seemed the easiest), but then I found myself harmonizing as I sang the more comfortable (for me) and fun tenor part. I'm so glad you're still able to send us new songs, even though they're fewer and far between - it's perfectly understandable at this time! Stay well.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed singing along. :) I've actually been release MORE songs since the home confinement here in France (mid-March). Perhaps you missed a release or two?
I'm sorry. You're correct. I did get I Fall In Love Too Easily in early April and then Beautiful Dreamer on April 22nd. I think this two-month home confinement has warped my perception of time and it just seemed like ages since I had heard a new song from you. Please keep singing. We all need music, especially now!
Nice format! You should do more of these. I'm not much of a singer anymore, but I really enjoy following each part, particularly the bass (used to sing this part when I was much younger).
Encore une superbe interpretation avec tes 3 frères, je suis heureux que vous vous attendes si bien lol. Un tout grand bravo a vous quartes, amicalement Maurice
Woooow!! You are so talented!! Thank you so much for sharing. Any chance you could do this phenomenal breakdown with The Four Freshmen's songs? Their vocal harmony is so tight that I just can't nail down the middle voices!! Thank you once again!!
I thought this was gonna be the Beatles song... that one's got some incredible harmonies, I feel like that'd make for a killer barbershop arrangement! Until then... (by the way that's not a request, in fact I'd like to do it first ;)
This video is a beautiful gift!! I've always thought that barbershop has great melodies in everyone of the voices, not just the leading one. Thank you!!! :D Could you please do the same with Billy Joel's 'For the Longest Time'?!
Isaac Asimov wrote alternate lyrics for the second verse: Nuclear fusion makes the stars shine Tropisms make the ivy twine Rayleigh scattering makes the sky blue Glandular hormones are why I love you
Is this a typical Baritone range? I used to (in the mid-70s and 80 s) be able to sing Bari or Bass, but on this song, I was straining to hit the higher notes. (I had to go falsetto to even try the Lead part.)
You should do a video similar to this, but instead of playing the individual parts louder, you should mute the individual parts so we can have to fill it in.
I'd like to try this, I just don't know how do you put the videos of you singing all together at the same time. And can I do this on the normal SATB music sheets?
Could you try and sing Come and Go with me by The Dell Vikings? Please, I think it would sound awesome. Edit: I just found out you already did a cover nine years ago ^ ^; !
This song sounds so beautiful, I especially love the baritone line. And this is a wonderful way of teaching it. I only wish the song didn't have a religious message because now I can't sing it without feeling like a hypocrite.
@@JulienNeel I've been trying to think of a way to change the lyrics, thanks for the suggestion! And keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it really well!
Nice!! now i can fail each part individually
LOL
At least you're not alone, I fail too.
We can fail each part individually hahahaha
It's not really all that hard. It's just got some unusual Harmony in places (even by barbershop standards).
Practice makes perfect! Don’t give up! Believe in you!
Idk why but I thought he was gonna sing "I Want it That Way" from the Backstreet Boys.
Either way I enjoyed the video. Keep it up man.
Same :)
I was thinking Beatles. Still, great song!
🎵 Ain’t nothing but a heartbreak 💔
Actually can he do a barbershop version of that song? That would sound amazing.
You’re not the only one! 😂
So, who's giving this a try and which part? Do you like this video format?
This Sweet Adeline gal loves the format and songs Bari
Baritone!!

All of them, with, a yikes for the tenor part for me as well.
This format is great and we need more of it. C'est un oui retentissant pour moi !
1:24 Lead
2:43 Bass
4:01 Bari
5:21 Tenor
Me: saw the title
My brain: 🎵ain’t nothing but a heartbreak🎶
A nice demonstration of the magic of barbershop, where the whole is always greater than the sum of the parts.
Such a great public service! Showing almost anyone can start to sing accapella close harmony!
I thought this was going to be Tell Me Why by the Beatles, but this was impressive! The harmonies are lovely, and I especially like that all of the voice parts get a lot of movement.
Who the hell down votes this guy's videos? Who the hell?! My mom and grandma used to sing this to me!!! I love this!!!!

Aww, thanks! :)
A Cappella Trudbol Have you ever recorded My Evaline? I think you’d make an awesome version of it!
That's fantastic, I haven't had a quartet meeting in ages with all that, that's the first I sing in two months! Thanks Julien!
You can't make me sing Barbershop! Or can you...? Yeah, you did.
Gotta love the simple harmonies of a men's quartet!!! All four (or 5) parts. :-D
Julien! I can tell kids to go online and follow your posts! They can use this to learn to read music AND sing along!
That may be the most fun I've had in a week or more.
This was amazing, thank you for working hard, even in quarantine. Keep it up!
Thank you for that, I appreciate it!
Lovely as always! Also its cool to show the individual voices, really makes you appreciate the original that much more.
Thanks, l loved it, and I am a barbershopper, in a chorus!!!
Hmm...I think most women would want a more specific answer to the question. LOL. Nice job Julien! I am always amazed at your range and how well you sing each part. It's fund to sing along, and at home no body cares if you mess up a note or two!
I can’t even harmonise with other people and this guy’s here harmonising with himself
Actually harmonising with oneself is easier than with other people, because the voice-tones mix better
Half of why I love your videos so much is the beauty of your arrangements and your voice. The other half is how much fun you appear to be having! You make me smile!

Nice to see a video from you that breaks down each part and hear them isolated.
My pleasure. :)

Aww thank you for your kind comment, I'm flattered!
This was awesome! I sang with tenor, lead, and bari lines. No way I could sing bass. Tenor is my favorite.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed this. :)
Beautiful!
Perfect!
I love this format!!!

I'm so old, I saw the title and thought it was exactly this song, but I know the parts as a duet not quartet. Excellent rendition, as always.
So much fun!! Thank you!

Great!!!
Thanks for give us each part...
This is absolutely brilliant Julien! I used to sing first tenor but my voice isn't what it used to be!
Great job with the sing-along, Julien! Now I love your videos even more
Nice one!
Love it J. Awesome!!
ok, now it's clear I'm baritone! :-D
thanks for the beautiful singing!
Haha, you bet! Us Baritones can sing anything. ;)
What a splendid idea, and in every possible way your voice is fantastic ❤️
Love this format, Julien! Thanks for putting out content even in this trying time.
I sing with you, but I can't handle the bass! My God, how beautiful!
Melifluous! 👏👏👏👏👏😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're just amazing, Dude!!
Finally decided to become a patron! i love your music and videos, and want to support you in making more!
Aww, thank you! I appreciate it. :)
Yes please - singing Lead. I am busy constructing a virtual choir video for my Male Voice Choir at the moment.
Love it, the smile really seals the deal :)
You have NO idea how much you help me fall asleep at night (forgot to say thank you oops >
Aww, thanks for that. :)
You really need to do this more often.
Love it!
Telly my why aint nothing but a heartache? I was gonna expect that tbh
What a great idea, thank you
More songs in this format will be a hit I am sure.
C est superbe ! Merci

Let me know!
I surely will!!!
where do i send it?

I thought this was the Beatles song.....but it was still great!
I've never really sung before, but it was easier for me to sing the bass and baritone parts, even though my voice isn't very deep
This format is really cool and innovative! The song is not very easy, but I tried to sing some parts 😀💙
Glad you enjoyed it and sang along!
My dad used to sing this to me every night
This song is so incredible, THANKS✌🏼
this is cool!
you are the man!

O o 🤯 I want that way I thought 😢
I actually recorded the Backstreet Boys tune shortly after, check out my channel. :)

Yes, this is typical Baritone range = notes that fall inside both staves. The Tenor notes here are a bit high for a Baritone.

Wow! Very nice. Now can you do the same with the latest Vocal Spectrum version of "Bye Bye Blues"? :P
Now can you please do the backstreet boys song that i thought this was :') awesome song tho :) gg
Beautiful :) No earpiece? But how?! ☺️
Can you do "Can't help falling in love" by Elvis Presley? It doesn't have to be a sing-along but I think that you'd do an amazing cover of it!
