Showpieces do not contain any cake as they have to be out for days. Only the products used on the outside are edible. Fondant, chocolate, sugar, etc

The showpiece was made for the cake show and not a competition but if you enjoy competing you should definitely check out some cake shows in your area :)

I understand the confusion but sometimes I am asked to make sculptures for cake shows that are not edible since they have to be out in front of people for days. So it's more like a display cake :)
