I'm gonna have to confirm that you missed Hardened Shielding as an already existing option in the core book, at page 116.
That was for cyberlimbs only correct? Does this new option cover more cyberware now?
The old options are for cyberdecks and cyberlimbs. The new version covers borgware like a linear frame
@@zentinel17 gotchya so still cant line individual pieces or can we “make that up to the gm” or would that be to game breaking?
@@jameshenchy184 I don't think it's game breaking to sell a hardened version at a higher price or have it made by a tech as an upgrade.
Might be useful for a like subdermal grip or rippers in a meat arm.
For other cyberware in cyberlegs, cyberarms, cybereyes and internal getting the generic cover all from the installed pieces might just save a tech alot of work and your edgerunners alot of money.
Wait so with the Trauma response nanomatrix is basically the best cyberware for anyone who wants to roleplay the funny senator guy from MGRevengeance
The cyberware I was going to shove into my current character has basically doubled with the release of black chrome. I'm so excited!
"I'm just gonna give this place a shitty recommendation on Ziggy!" "What?! please don't do that - sure you can get a small discount...!"
Talking about the General Gear section...the Mr. Biscuit Multi-Food Processor kind of is horrifying. I guess Soylent Green now is canon for Cyberpunk RED. It just has to be the cheepest way to get rid of evidence for any murder. And its purchase seems to be completely legal. I love it.
I love this book, and humbled that I got to make some art for it. It's really come out well.
Your artwork is amazing bud
Whaaaaaaat that’s nuts! Frigging #GOALS
Okay now I definitely will be buying the physical and digital so I can own more of your art
awesome awesome work!
Nice! What page?
I got into cyberpunk red literally a week ago and had no idea there was a new book so this is pretty exciting
Perfect timing choom!
Really dig the apps, they really give narrative players some fun activities and skill moments.
How is this one day old...
@@franciscoaguirre96video was probably private for a period of time
this is so cool especially the clothing brands and lines and names and such, i always had a hard time coming up with like fashion brands on the spot to immerse my players and honestely immerse myself, cuz so corebook stayed so default on that. so thats amazing
Reinforced cyberlimb, the first thing I thought of was making really powerful melee weapons that break your arm when used. Like Jetstream Sam's Katana, that uses a gun firing mechanism to cut. Curious enough, that art looks like Sam's arm.
All the advertising for Black Chrome needed was 'we have a hoverboard' and it would be the best-seller for the next year (although I have a bad feeling it's a bit of a noob trap since it a stray bullet could flatline it while you're moving at max speed, but 15 Move is hard to argue with).
Hardened Shielding in Red is a must! It is in the Core Red Rules! Aloha!
Looking forward to seeing what else is in the Chromebook. And we finally got furries 2.0 in the new interface volume
I think when I eventually do run a Cyberpunk game, I wont use the time of the Red, but probably set prior to the events of 2077.
The MechaMan set looks like something Rinzler from Tron: Legacy would wear.
Whoo! The wait is finally over!
Black chrome feel into a 4-week instead of 2-week game gap, so I'm quite ready to throw these things at my players.
I just need to figure out a way to simple way to write all the new stuff into a stat block.
Got sick so now watching your videos to actually plan my games since I have some time off 😂
Get better choom
Hey you're so right about chomping at the bit friendly local game store doesn't open til noon and I'm already jonesing
My flg bid get it in . I'm so saf
Good vid as always JonJon. Just my little input : as Red GM I've switched out the requirement for REF 8 for dodging rounds to needing a reflex boost instead. Think that that the cyber tech of the setting is that factor that pushes humanity's ability enough to evade gunfire. The result however is much the same : players will get neuralware & reflex boosts as no one wants to get shot!
I wish you could have 1 cyber finger in meat hand
Plus I'd imagine you'd get your pinky blown off a decent amount
tuning in late 😢
This whole episode has big QVC energy; feels like I'm at Grandma's house. 😂
JonJon adding escort mission if your escortie dies you fail lol 😆
I'm still thinking about a linear frame with mounted speakers and amps just made to make the whole KillAmp-Set portable 😂
Dam sounds awesome

Trauma Team Go!
WIth all the new cyberware that we are getting now and were getting in dlcs I start feeling like we will at some point need to take another look at humanity loss mechanic. There is so much cool stuff, and ignoring big obvious things, we are getting a lot of small, cheap but fun ones, yet even if the HL is minimal, every piece will reduce max humanity by 2 and this can stack quickly.
Perhaps there can be a class of cyberware that is opposite of borgware - you either lose 1 max humanity, or your maximum will not be affected (but loss from installation will still apply), examples of such cyberware can be - colorshift, skill chips, personal shredder etc.
I already homebrewed to reduce how much HL a character accrues. It works like this:
When a character undergoes Therapy, HL for any particular piece of cyberware is reduced to the value of the number of dice listed in the HL column. So 1d6 HL can be reduced to 1, 2d6 is reduced to 2, and 4d6 is reduced to a minimum of 4. If a piece has a value of "1d6÷2" it can be reduced to zero with Therapy.
The idea here is that while getting chipped incurs an immediate HL, a round or two of Therapy can completely eliminate any HL for a majority of cybereye or cyberaudio upgrades, but generally leaves everything else RAW.
I always pictured cybereyes as basically a standard in the cyberpunk genre, but in CP:R, getting two eyes and a couple upgrades can hit you for over 20 HL. Even with Therapy that drops to a minimum of around 8-12, which is a big chunk if you're running a Solo with only 3 or 4 Empathy.
Jon, give me the Shuriken grenades
Aw shit here we go 😂
I read through it quickly but there are 3 things that Might ruin the game to me, I don’t know how much info details I can get, in case censor this message: 1- light armor are now concealable for a small fee, so there is no reason why the party shouldn’t go around in the glen fully armored. 2- there is a cyberware that let’s even a 3 ref character to dodge bullets, ‘cause combat needed to have extra dice rolls I guess.. 3- there is an option that let’s you fill up the sp of your subdermal armor even mid combat at the cost of an action.. don’t even let me start on that. If anything I think that combat needed to be even Faster and more le that. Instead with these new options it can become even more of a slugfest.. dodging bullets in particolar I thought should be even more restricted, like tied to a specific cyberware, instead now is even more accessible .. I don’t know what they were thinking
I don't think the last 2 actually slow the game down. Realistically, every player char that was remotely serious was running ref 8, everyone was already dodging. Rather, ref was just a little too good, being attached to shooting attacks and initiative. The co processor lets some (non shooty) chars redistribute some stats, thats really all. The skin weave repair is just replicating what already existed: field expertise (read: a 1 level dip into tech). These additions aren't adding to max survive-ability, they're giving you new options to reach the existing limit. Options that (hopefully) feel less minmaxy and more fluffy
@@dyr8776 I wouldn't say that a player without 8 in REF isn't serious, quite the contrary actually. Anyway I'm a fan of limiting evasion chances and speeding up the fights if possible, this goes on the opposite direction to me. Thanks for mentioning the field expertise skill, the thought of a tech repairing an armor mid combat was so silly that it didn't even occur to me that it could be used as that by RAW😂
My party just got crucified at the nuking of Arasaka tower. Fun times.
