These railroads are no longer a toy - these are hundred thousand dollar hobbies - while perhaps not for the rich, they are extremely EXPENSIVE, complex, computer-controlled, not for the faint of heart.
Model railroads have never really been a toy, certainly not in the sense of a Christmas trains set running around the tree endlessly. But the quality and realism available have certainly taken huge steps in the last 30 years - give or take. And all of that is now so well utilized by realistic operations which is nicely illustrated in this and many of Cam's other videos (and other CZcams channels about model railroads). Layouts and the rosters on them can become very expensive which in a large part is directly related to the size of the layout especially if you want instant gratification and have a professional build it for you. While this is not an overly large layout it is still above average size but the budget is nowhere near your $100K alarmism. In fact many model railroaders with even a modicum of patience can take 5 or more years spending only a few thousand dollars to make superlative small layouts and appropriately sized locomotive and car rosters leading to a lifetime of enjoyment. Don't focus only on the budget but factor in the hours of enjoyment and the timeframe involved. Model railroading can cost less than a movie night out for two every couple of weeks which a large part of the population does.
Box 3 on BNSF warrants is 'Clear last named point'. On a box 2, you can actually give 2 proceeds. I.E: Proceed from WWS A to ESS B, Proceed from ESS B to WSS C. For a local working both directions, you'd use a Box 4 'Work Between', in case you wanted to increase your realism.
Cam love the layout! The scenery and weathering are suburb. Where are you located? Would love to maybe check it out sometime. Maybe get some idea`s and help with ours.

Good to know! I was just using the suggested warrant template from a GCOR book. I'll have to update my paperwork.
