Basically my thoughts exactly. Didn't grab me production wise on first listen, but its totally grown on me since i think it's still much richer and detailed production than the average pop song, and its pretty catchy and upbeat, getting me excited for the whole album to mostly be super upbeat hopefully. Like Nurture had some sad and bittersweetness to it, but ultimately uplifting. I have been wanting more upbeat misic recently, so it'll be nice if the album delivers on the title.
I agree that the production is not enough to hype someone up. But as a Porter's fan, his lyrics is always awesome and it supports so much the production, so that the whole song is completely feel way more better when you understand the lyrics
