Today, we are doing something a bit different and cover the huge ZPOP Dream project that was first launched in 2018. After one year of successful promotions, the members were sent back home and the project was given up on completely. We'll take a look at where things went wrong and how the ZPOP brand tried to implement itself on the music market.

The first downfall started when the company decided that a group that based in Korea, trained in a Korean system, learning Korean culture, all of that but no Korean member
And none of them comfortable in speaking Korean because the company debuted them in just 4 months of training

I feel like if their company took longer to wait out their debut and allow fans to continue to get to know them through covers and their content, they probably would’ve built a demanding enough fanbase that would’ve been able to support the group through the pandemic and petition for the company to manage them better than what happened in the end.

Thank you for watching & sharing your opinion! We aren't sure about training longer as that would mean even less time before the start of the pandemic for them as debuted groups. Its also crazy how the uproar of the fandom (which there was!) was so completely ignored by the company.. they literally gave up after 3 months.

Being a *Galaxz* (fandom name) here, wanted to say that we fans had already sent mass emails to their company, nobody even cared or responded. I came to know they went hiatus some years ago. If they can't go hiatus, then who will? You didn't read it wrong! ofc, they would go hiatus, 'cause they didn't promote their idols..
They were soo good, even after less training months! Priyanka (Indian) was the translator of the group, who actually can understand and speak Korean better than others. Like that, they were learning from beginning. Many Koreans hated them due to presence of mixed Asians who are non-Koreans under a Korean label. *Even after all these, they debuted in Korea. Things were going smoothly. They came to India for a concert under VH1. They went to Indonesia. They had fan-meet and everything was working* until Corona hit- We fans are extremely upset about ghosting of their company and avoiding us. I mean their future is gone? *Note to mention* ; few members had already left Zpop and pursued their own careers from scratch again! Idk what else to say, rather than just A HOPE! I miss my babies soo much!

By Now, I Think that It's Even More of a Blessing for Z-Stars Not Promoting Themselves in K-Pop 🎵🎶 Programs Within 🇰🇷 Before the Worldwide Covid-19 Pandemic Began. As a Former GalaxZ Myself, this Gave Me a Great Impression that Z-Stars was Able to Find its Own Unique Colour of 🎵🎶 Style & Genre Without Using the K-Pop Label at All in Originality. (Along with Having All of its 14 Original Members Staying True to Themselves by Promoting at Some of their Respective 🏠 Countries Along with the Promotion of their Respective Cultures.)
As for XG, I Never Hate All of its Members on Personal Basis at All. However, its Weird Marketing Strategy Gave Some Members of the Public (Including Me) a 👎 Impression & Confussion that XG Only Wanted to Use Almost Everything Related to K-Pop Except for the Language Itself. (Along with Seemingly Not Staying True to Oneself by Pretending to Be Someone Else Instead.) Its Management Company Should Change its Marketing Strategy via the Following Ways:
      1. Change its Country Base of Marketing from 🇰🇷 to 🇺🇲 (or At Least Another Country Which a Major English-Speaking Population) ASAP (if XG Really has No Intention to Sing All of its Songs in the 🇰🇷 Language at All) and
      2. Re-singing All of its 🇬🇧 Language Songs into Japanese Versions & Promote Them Within the J-Pop 🎵🎶 Industry in 🇯🇵 Itself.
While It's Also Ok to have a Non-Korean Asian Pop 🎵🎶 Groups Being Inspired by K-Pop in Terms of Music-Wise, Both GalaxZ & Hardcore XG Fans have Almost Complete Opposite Nature Mostly in Terms of Personality-Wise.
Most GalaxZ have Friendly Nature & Do Not Engage in Fanwars with Actual K-Pop Fandoms. (By Not Only Being Respectful Towards the Latter Group, But Also the Fandoms of Other Asian Pop 🎵🎶 Genres.)
On the Other Hand, Hardcore XG Fans are Almost as Similar as the Respective, Toxic Sub-Divisions of Actual K-Pop Fandoms. They have an Sense of Overprotectiveness Towards XG, But Misused it by Inserting Themselves Into the Spaces of Actual 4G K-Pop 👧 Groups' Respective Fandoms. [By Starting & Creating Unnecessary Fanwars Via Commenting and/or Replying Someone Else's Comment with the Following Sentence, "XXX (Name of an XG Member) is More Prettier and/or Talented than xxx (Respective Name of a 4G 👧 Group Member) in Terms of a Specific Skill(s)."] Within this Monday (13-2-23), I Accidentally Angered a Hardcore XG Fan on a Baby Monster-Related Video's Comment Section (by Replying to Him/Her that XG Shouldn't Be Considered as an Actual K-Pop Group at All in an Unhappy Manner). Not Only He/She Replied by Misunderstanding that I am Narrow-Minded Racist (for Disallowing XG to Promote Themselves in K-Pop 🎵🎶 Programs), But I Also Ended Up Misunderstood by my Own Family as Well. If That Hardcore XG Fan Didn't Insert Him/Herself Into the Baby Monster-Related Video's Comments' Section, It Would have Been More Peaceful Instead.

As much as I love K-pop, I gotta admit that Korea is a country with most of the people being racists or xenophobic. You see, the members of K-pop groups are only from a few countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea, obviously. It is like Asia is just these countries which is honestly ridiculous. And their reason is that "people from other countries (other than East Asian countries) don't fit KBS so they can't be idols.". Majority of the K-pop fans are from countries where there are no K-pop auditions and many of these fans want to become K-pop idols too, but they can't because neither they fit KBS (THEY ARE STILL BEAUTIFUL.) nor K-pop auditions are held in their countries. Black idol Fatou (BlackSwan (formerly Rania/BP Rania)) gets hate for her dark skin tone (She gets hate from some international stans too). Lisa from BLACKPINK got hate for being Thai. See, the hate towards foreign idols is endless.

…but it wasn’t a well-thought-out concept. With all due respect to the men and women who participated as talent( including you)…it was obviously just a money grab for the companies involved. SKorea has created this amazing industry, Kpop, and developed a highly successful training method and system, and has developed some of the best choreographers, producers, artists in terms of global entertainment…but it took decades at this point and it took so much hard work and perseverance. Now that kpop has reached a global audience, everyone and their mother is trying to make a quick buck from it too and it’s highly disrespectful. How can they try to take advantage of the popularity of kpop, use the kpop system, promote within SKorea…yet not have any Korean members? It’s disrespectful to the nth degree. They want to promote on Korean music shows yet refuse to study Korean to the point of fluency prior to coming on a SKorean show?? So basically the company wants all of the perks (popularity and support from amazing kpop fans, money from the kpop industry, music show popularity, etc) without doing any of the work (i.e. speaking Korean…singing in KOREAN on a…KOREAN MUSIC SHOW lol🙄🙄🙄) OR showing any respect to SKorea, the kpop industry including the numerous hard-working artists within the industry, Korean culture, and Korean people overall. Please stop this madness. If you’re a fan of kpop and wish to debut in the industry…do what other non-Korean artists did- LEARN KOREAN, TRAIN in SKorea in a kpop Ecompany, learn and respect KOREAN CULTURE, and work hard as a trainee to develop your talents and work until you debut. Period. Otherwise…debut in your own nation’s pop music industry if you refuse to learn another nation’s language and culture. Kpop involves Korean culture. It’s a huge aspect of the industry so it makes sense that kpop idols would be living in SKorea and be immersed in the culture. I really don’t understand why it is so hard for genZ folks to grasp this concept. If I wanted to debut in the Bollywood industry, I would pursue training in India…I would become fluent in Hindi by working my ass off to show respect toward the culture…and I would debut IN INDIA. It’s a simple concept. I hope this shows a different perspective on the topic that you can consider. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

i think the issue was expending so quickly. they put money into an app, into gen 2 reality shows, etc. in reality, this concept is expensive, but cool. you have to bank on the fact that fans want to see these kids navigate other countries and be excited about either sharing their culture or experiencing other people's cultures. this would make it so expensive to cart out a 5 member group let alone two 7 member groups. making them based in korea is an odd choice for an english language group when countries like thailand, indian, and the philipines, all have a lot of people who have english as their second language not to mention probably cheaper to live in. singapore's first language is english. with no korean member at all on top of english only music, im not surprised they werent allowed on music shows.
this group 100% had potential. specifically priyanka has so much star power. but the eyes of the management team had too many stars in it and it clouded their judgement.

I think they should have added at least one korean member to the group and since they were based in Korea they should have released at least korean versions of their songs as well,,, also they shouldn't have sent the members back in their home country, nobody knew how long the pandemic was sending them away ultimately led to lesser group content, they couldn't record songs or any variety content or shoot mv. if they had sent them they should have created group content through zoom as well, that would have at least kept the content coming. and right when travel ban lifted despite the long quarantine they should have brought the members back

Covid was literally the best time to build social media. All they had to do was get all the members decent enough camera equipment, including the 2nd gen, and let them build their individual social media on CZcams, IG, and TikTok. They could have done anything: covers, beauty, dance, cooking, reaction vids, vlogs... literally anything because they already had a growing fanbase that was eager to support them. They could have done training through zoom and recorded those for the group's official pages, along with continuing with vlogs and covers like before.
They could have even did a mentor thing where an og member and the 2nd gen who are from the same country could doing things together whenever their country's law allowed and upload those too. e.g. the OG India members and the 2nd gen Indian members could have small meet-ups or video chats and stuff and train together, when possible, maybe even vlog getting their Covid test together and stuff like that. This would have given them a chance to bond and get the fans even more invested.
During this time, the management team should have been looking for songs and comeback concepts so that when 2021 rolled around and things started to free up a bit, they could have recorded something quickly that would hold the fans over until 2022 when they would have had an even larger fanbase. Their comeback would have done really well. They really could have been successful.

IMO, another factor is also the English language is actually not the member's mother language. In some videos I watched several members find difficulties in expressing themselves in English even though they understand English. Or even talking to one another at the dorm, might be difficult for them. No matter how fluent, it's not their mother language. So to speak English on daily basis might be an exhausting task for the members themselves.
It's also would be so difficult to interact with fans and staff in SK since English speaking ability is not common, and even still so many people in SK find speaking English a rude gesture. So at the same time, they have to learn so many languages and cultures. They speak English frequently, think in their mother language, and have to learn Korean to survive in SK but never gonna use it on their stage career.

Before I get crazy over SB19(the most famous p-pop now)..I started it here on Z-pop since I’m josh bias and one member of Sb19 which is ken( yes his my bias as well as u can see on my profile) He was his dance groupmate before and they were both main dancer on their own new groups.. I really like josh, he’s so gentle yet funny..I even remember how I adore josh and gai closeness.. Gai is the rapper and his so charismatic as well.. the sleepy one..all of the members have a great chemistry despite their age gap and different cultures.. I also like the indonesian and vietnam closeness.. I mean I ship them all in a friendly way and they have the youngest one from thailand.. He’s so cute also but when pandemic started Zpop don’t give any content anymore.. It’s so sad I’ve waited for their content for so long.. I open YT just to watch their contents but still they don’t give a new content.. and thats the moment.. when YT recommends me SB19 content.. I tried to watch it since I heard that josh has a friend there but I don’t know his face and name until He became my bias without knowing that his really the friend of joshuel zpop.. One time I stalk ken’s instagram and I suddenly saw josh there.. Its been a year since I became sb19 fan, the moment I saw him.. I just realize that the friend of josh that I looking for before became my bias without knowing he really is.. but when I saw josh I remember everything in Zpop and I suddenly felt sad and then I go to their channel but then.. There’s no new.. they’ve gone I even saw carlyn teaching new Ppop group and last month Sb19 had their first live concert after pandemic and Joshuel was there.. I even wish he should’ve joined Sb19 instead but yeah maybe it’s just not his career path..

I think it was for some unforseen challenges, first was when pandemic came. Every member came from another country, making it impossible to make ends and meet together. Then some members already left and some are already married and have kids, making it more impossible to continue through.
There is still a chance to reunite tho, if their company didnt disband them

I love them and I really miss them all together, but it's only logical that lots of them left because of the lack of activity when lots of other groups worked in online content and stuff like that. It must have felt horrible for them that just when they were becoming more popular then everything turned upside down... I used to have a lot of fun watching their lives, the content they uploaded and even interacting with them on instagram, they were so close to the fans. I hope everything goes well for them in their separate ways, I'll always hold the zpop days in my memory :')

They were so popular at the beginning, but like I'm not gonna lie, it was going to kind of fall off the face of the earth. The company could have boosted them during covid, especially the fact that they could individually promote online whether they were together or not. The only reason the members started leaving is because they weren't getting money because there weren't any promotions. It could have been big if the company had better management. Also, the fact that they were all from different parts of Asia as well just made it difficult with the management they had. We have to remember that they are bringing in money from this because it is a job, no matter what way you look at it, if they weren't getting promoted, they weren't bringing in money, 14 people and barely any money coming in, the pay would have been vastly different between members and eventually some of them were probably fed up and not enjoying it anymore because they literally had nothing to do. The concept was really cool though, like I said before, they would have been big if it wasn't for poor management.

damn, I had no idea they were planning a second generation.
I thought the pandemic killed the group, but I had no idea they were mismanaged like this. they could've still thrived if they kept posting content on their yt channel. I'll miss them, it's a shame it didn't work out.

Like Indian classical music, Indonesian and other countries must have their own native culture and music. If they had presented something different I'm sure even more Korean people would have been interested. As an Indian I've seen Korean people interested in my country.
