I was 16 when I first danced to rockabilly it was introduced again in 1970s remember going to a rock Billy concert had the time of my life this was in UK there has been many trends but rock n Roll will always be there .let's face it no later what the occasion people will always dance to rock n roll .it's the beat happy days people
The youngster is bopping in the Hepcat style while the old fella is very much bopping in the Ted fashion with classic heel and toe action though he has a few rebel moves. I bet he used to do the old back flip when he was younger!
why? Do you think it was only Sarf London that had Teds? I remember the first Teds I ever saw in 1951. They were a couple of blokes from Dublin who went to London to work. It was the Dublin Teds who introduced Country sounds such as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Moon Mullican and Ella Mae Morse to the London scene. Before them the London Teds were listening to British Jazz. The Dublin/Irish angle is always ignored when talking about Teds. The first Ted I ever saw in Bermondsey was a Scot whose parents were Irish. That was in 1952.
