Looks like they are good friends off screen. I've never seen Quentin look like he wants to be at a interview more. Good chemistry.
Paul your 100% right in regards to the old Jonathan Ross but intellectually his show on itv has veered vastly towards cheap jokes and non engaging entertainment
Think its because ross is a fan of his films n other interviewers are just journos
Go watch his interviews with Conan O'brien. He seems really relaxed on his show and they spend half the time laughing
Quentin also loves british TV...
Jonathan Ross has one of the original Hanzo swords from the movie
I can tell you, Quentin, that I like many other people was that 16 year old kid that discovered your movies and you've never ever disappointed me.
I’m in exactly the same position! We’re as old as this interview 😂
i remember sitting in my friends house watching a pirated 240p version of pulp fiction on his mom’s cube shaped apple monitor
same
Me too, but 15
Grindhouse????
this is the best quentin interview ive ever seen, the chemistry between these 2 is also awesome
They are actually friends
@tinwoods because its so fucking impossinble for the hosts to actually watch everything...i mean yeah tarantino has a few movies but these interviewrrs have so many fucking ppl to "ask intresting questions" and "have that chemistry"
Sweaty cokehead is the only chemistry I see here. He is a lot more relaxed with Graham Norton.
@@goatlps Ross and QT have been friends for decades. Ross was suppoer supportive of QT and really tyalked him up in the UK when he was just starting out.
@@RealmDesigner You can see that and Ross is a huge film fan and critic. He did a show reviewing films but I can't remember what it was called. I remember watching it though.
Bloody hell. This is a real, long form, adult conversation. On a prime time talk show. Absolutely brilliant.
I cant believe he had the idea for inglorious basterds already during the making of kill bill
If Chris Waltz didn't come into his life, it would have been longer.
It ain't hard. He'd watched the original Italian film and The Dirty Dozen a ton of times, so the script was half-written.
@@mnkykungfu So, if it's not that hard... How many movie scripts have you done this year? :)
@@Schmorgus pretty sure Jeff Light is talking about the fact Quentin had the idea of inglorious basterds when making kill bill. Not about the actual scriptwriting. Btw the original Inglorious Basterds is a great movie. But not at all comparable to Quentin's Inglorious Basterds.
@@DJSamsonofficial Yeah, I don't think I can know what others mean. I just take my own interpretation of it, and let them defend themselves.
It would be pretty weird to think one would know what other people mean by their thinking... Just saying.
Crazy this Is a 15 yr old interview. Time warp for sure.
Yeah it's so unfortunate. She looks so extremely happy here
Tarantino acts like a 15 y/o on this interview
@tinwoods yh but it can't be as bad as the trauma caused by the fucking canyon between her eyes
The Yayo is definitely kicking in
Thanks for that I fuckin hate it when they don't tell you the year
What a great interview, Quentin is so relaxed and enjoying himself. A real pleasure to watch!
He's higher than a kite.
what? lol he's sweating and jumping around like he did 14 lines of coke 5 minutes before the interview
abrakabazza u call that relaxed lol
Ravathiel You ever taken coke? It takes more than 15
Took me far too long to realise that Johnny Vegas wasn't holding a pose, and he, in fact, just wasn't there.
Quentin Tarantino reminds me of the movie geek kid, he loves his craft he knows what's right and he carries through. Hes a blessing to the film industry which is saturated by things like a fast and furious movie every month to make money
QT is my favorite director and Fast And Furious is my guilty pleasure saga. Nothing wrong with loving both
@@lone17wolf Not at all! I respect people who like what they want and not what they are implored to by social norms. It just becomes a point where they take a good series and bleed it dry.
@@unseen289 But, Liking the Fast and Furious movies is kind of following the social norms tho :P
@@Schmorgus Hence why it makes so much money. Agreed.
@@Lucifronz Not saying that the social norms and evolution is going in the right direction tho :P
Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite directors. He adores everything about film and pours his heart and soul into every second of the work he does. He creates fun, compelling stories and has never once let me down. He knows what’s going to work and he’s not arrogant about his scripts; he’s flexible and willing to work with whatever comes up as a project is being filmed. Tarantino’s never done a bad movie. He had his ups and downs but he hasn’t done a bad movie. He peaked in Reservoir Dogs and stayed in that place straight through to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and will continue to do so down the road. I don’t know if there’s any other director currently working that adores all facets of film as much as Quentin does.
If you want a good franchise you've got to wait till the creator is ready. If you rush you're gonna get garbage. The past year alone with GoT is a good example when you need to bloody wait.
we waited 2 years for those episodes, they just stopped giving a shit
@jaymon99 agreed, hbo wanted the opposite, they wanted the story dragged over more seasons, i wish they did cause what we got was just shit
That was garbage from episode 1 though sooo....
Yep. I’d always rather wait. If I like what you did I’ll give you time. I’d rather it never come out than it be crap.
Quite right!
This is the first interview that feels more like two old friends catching up. Love these two.
interviewer: how are you?
quentin: heres the thing, tells a 20 minute story
Yeah, but that's why QT makes the most amazing films. He just has so many ideas, he has passion and love for what he does.
It's strange to watch something like this and realize it's a rare case of the interviewer being an actual fan, so there's no hostility in it. Tarantino is so often met with opposition from interviewers that you don't get to see much how he'd be when he's treated well.
WalterLiddy nice profile pic
No, ithere are plenty of interviews that go well, but most of the controversial ones came out at a time when the average joe like you and I didn't have a public voice on social media. So, we got what was fed to us, which was whever style the interviewer did, and whatever doctrine they wanted to push to make QT look bad. There are many examples of this from a similar era. The media tried to blame Maralyn Manson for the Colombine massacres simply because they were fans of his music.
Gotta love Quentin Tarantino 😁
Yes. Everyone mocks his face etc. But i respect his passion for movies
I loved him in Jimmy Neutron
@@SimplyLimbo Atleast you can easily remember his face. Not calling the legend ugly, just saying lol
I really wish every single interview was like that. It was fun, informative and engaging whilst putting a different spin on Quentin Tarantino. He’s an awesome filmmaker and someone who’ll be compared to Scorsese, Hitchcock, Leone and many others for his vision and his ability to tell a story on film.
Tarantino is one of my favs! I love him, M.Night Shyamalan, Christopher Nolan, Peter Berg, Tim Burton, and Scorsese. They all have such a unique style whose movies never miss!
Such a crazy intelligent guy !
You can tell his mind never stops.
I keep watching this clip because it is THE best Tarantino interview on the web. One of the rare times you hear his proper full on laugh
They have such a fast and fiery chemistry together!
Jackie Brown gets better every time I watch it.
I think it's his best film , the acting is amazing in it. I laugh whenever Mr De Niro's character is on screen , so low key but great.
It's his best work!
Most accurate comment on CZcams
That's the only one I haven't seen. I promise that I will watch it and watch it again or I am no longer worthy of calling myself a fan.
@@jacobharman2010 I think it’s his best, not immediately obvious compared to PF, etc, but for me it’s got better every time I’ve watched it.
Jonathan Ross is a TALENTED talk host
What a phenomenal interview. 👍
"If you crave satisfaction, this is where you can find that kind of action! Come into this theater as it's next attraction is a movie so damn bad it's gonna put you in traction!" Amazing.
Put your weight on it!
The chemistry between these two is just mesmerizing!
You should try and find the Evil Dead 2 documentary he did in the 80s with Sam Raimi
They had great chemistry together and Raimi was really funny.
Raimi was acting in Intruder at the time and Jonathan Ross was invited to watch Raimi's small roll.
@@raydoug7367 thanks for the tip! I love the Evil Dead franchise!
Back in this day and in my personal opinion, Jonathan Ross was the best interviewer, he's intelligent, witty, funny and had the confidence/balls and wit to poke fun at his guests. Yeah you can tell Tarantino loved being there. Thurman was loving it too!
I love how they both have such a common language with each other!
It makes them open up in new deeper ways!
They seem to be great pals off camera!
There's something about genuine passion in content creators (writers in film and directors, video game developers or just people gushing over topics they love on CZcams) that literally revitalizes me. It's refreshing as hell to see someone who gives a shit about what they do beyond just doing a job. Here he is talking about how he wants to please fans when he's dead and gone, to never disappoint them, and it's the equivalent of drinking a glass of ice cold water after spending a day in the desert. It's *that* satisfying to hear and see.
Hell, I get that feeling just watching fans being passionate about things they love. And by passionate I don't mean "being an asshole and getting anal about what color Batman's nose was while fighting Ice Man" passion, I mean "gushing over how much they love Elvis" or "praising Anthony Hopkins for his ability to change from one emotion to another smoothly in Westworld over a simple cup of tea".
I. Fucking. _Love it._
This is probably one of the interviews where Quentin has been more relaxed and enjoyable
Ross is so informed and in to Tarantino's work and interests. No wonder Tarantino is having a blast...
Ross was a movie journalist for years and had a TV show in 80s and interviewed Sam Raimi etc
At 5:30 I already knew it was Rudy Ray Moor but I thought they were going to say Dolomite. Disco Godfather is a gem, I watched it 3 years ago with my highschool buddies we had a riot of a time.
@@totallybored5526 Gonna check it out. Thank you so much for the recomendation.
This is the best interviewer I've ever seen
The fact that Quentin is a Simon fan was dope for me.
As a big fan of both men, that was the cherry on top of the cake 😇
I can see how they match each other.
What he said about Jackie Brown is exactly how I feel about Jackie Brown. When I rewatch it, it’s like visiting old friends.
The Hawthorne 6. Love that Quentin is still a South Bay boy.
brilliant stuff They don't make it like this anymore Bring back the 90s
Back when the jonathan ross show was good! Find the itv version cringey
Uma looks like a GODDESS
I sincerely concur.
Jonathan's wife (with the red hair) looks much better.
"A woawing wampage of wevenge." 😂😂😂

Wated arw! 🤣🤣🤣
“Wuthless”
That`s the suit Bruce Lee wore in the game of death.
Quentin giggling like a child
I've watched this interview so many times. Fantastic.
I can tell you Quentin ; you'll never ever disappoint me. See your stuff since I've been 11 or 12 years old and I'm still thinking, wow, what's next. Waiting for the next flick is always worth anything.
6:38 - Amazing memory
disco godfathers looks I a movie I want to have seen.
Jonathan Ross know when to laugh and when to be serious, amazing
I love what Quentin says about Daryl Hannah.
this has to be one of the greatest interviews of a director ive seen!
Inglorious bastards is incredible. One of my favorites.
It’s nice with a great host and a great director! Those 2 are wicked cool catz!
Jonathan Ross is easily one of the best interviewers. He always makes his guests comftable and has a laugh with them allowing them to really open up.
He doesn't always make his guests feel comfortable when he's slagging them off and insulting them. Hahaha!!!
He used to. It's cringe now
@@Revolver1981 It's great humour!
@@BadWebDiver Exactly, old Wossy used to be great.
There are many better interviewers, and many who are far less immature, pushy, silly and merely looking for laughter.
Terrific interview, Ross is really putting him through his paces, though. Look at Quentin as he sweats more, and more through the interview...
Tarantino is constantly sweating.
@@nateallen7765 nose candy?
@@wetlazer Idk. I think that might just be how he is. Coke heads don't usually have thought as cohesive as he's putting out. But some handle it better than others.
He off the shits my guy
wetlazer it’s called hyper hydrosis. 1 in 8 people have it. Sweating under the hot lights while moving around laughing and talking is incredibly normal
I knew this interview was old but then I saw the gamecube controllers... My god where has time gone
Disco Godfather looks like a great movie
It looks fun; at least.
Jonathan Ross is outstanding.
He's a very engaging presenter.
7:55 - Starting talking about the suit.
Thank you. 👍

Great interview
I’m that 16 year old kid
Seriously I’ve been hooked since I watched Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction as a double feature (I watched volume 1 and 2 but they are one story really)
I would give anything to discover Tarantino again. I saw Reservoir dogs on VHS when I was 14. I saw True Romance a year after and heard that another of his scripts, Natural Born Killers, was going to be directed by one of my favorite directors Oliver Stone. I went to see NBK on opening day and they showed the trailer for Pulp Fiction. It had won the Palm D'or in Cannes and I had heard great things about it. Seeing that trailer was so damned exciting that I kept thinking about it during the movie. I had to wait months to see Pulp Fiction, but it didn't disappoint. I've only had a handful of experiences in a movie theater that completely blew me away and left me with my jaw wide open. This was probably the most powerful. I've been a huge fan ever since. I never thought he would ever even come close to topping it until I saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. That is now vying for the top spot. I really hope he isn't serious about retiring.
Because its so much fun, Jon!
Ok...just because an actress doesn’t do a movie every single year, doesn’t mean that they are washed up. Darryl Hanna rocks still. Love Uma, and every single person that has been in a QT movie. That’s what made his movies. QT definitely knows how to cast. He does an amazing job doing it. 😍😍😍
Brilliant interview
I love Tarantino. I can listen to him for hours.
Great interview.
I always anticipate a good time if it's a Quentin Tarantino film . This was a great interview .
But goodie for her, alright?! Exactly. Why I LOVE Terrantino. He is Great* at Casting for His Movies. So* good ❤️🔥
Delightful interview
What a great interview
I remember watching this on TV. Back when the BBC was almost cool.
Jonathan Ross what a savage hahaha. *cough* speilberg *cough* Lucas
ther was no coughs haha just him shouting names
I find it kinda impressive. Especially when you consider that this was 15 years ago too. Spielberg hadn't even made his worst films yet so this was quite the hot take indeed.
Lucas has never made a bad movie that's a fact
great interview
his passion is unmatched, its insane
Not knocking Ross now but I remember how much I used to love watching this show when I was younger and looking back now I can see why. He was so funny, kinda feel like he isn't as much now. But honestly he was funnier back then than any late night host is tonight except maybe a few episodes of Grapham Norton
The suit is from Game of Death and it is iconic. Loved the homage in Kill Bill
The fight against khareem abdul jabaar
Shame he shits on Bruce in his latest movie
Johnathan ross is great. Can’t wait for some new QT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Natural born killers one of my favorite movies of all time
This is why a good host keeps a glass of water for the guest.
THIS WAS HILARIOUS
Absolute perfectionist
Love him
One of the best Quentin interviews around actually, very nice talk!
“To be honest I haven’t actually seen any of your films” really cracked me up
I love his dry humour! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
im not sure ive ever seen a Quentin interview before where he isnt arguing with the interviewer.
Quentin,great writer,great films,up there with the best.
I have never seen this interview before, if I could interview Quentin, we'd spend hours and hours talking about movies. In fact, Kill Bill was the first film of Tarantino I watched as a Kid, so imagine for a 8-years-old kid watches a movie like this one.
Man, if I could interview/meet Quentin I'd have soooo many things to talk about with him
@@DanBruhMoment that makes two of us lol
what he says about daryl hannah is so smart and thoughtful
I love Disco Godfather!
I went this red carpet in Leicester Square it was awesome 😎
I loved all his movies.
These two are very entertaining together...
Obviously good friends...
I did that exact same thing to Elmore Leonard over "Astronaut's wife" when I worked at Blockbuster Video. Ironic story about Quentin battling the ticket booth person over seeing a bad movie...Elmore eventually put it down. I should have lightened up. He was a regular and a real pleasure to talk to about Cinema. RIP to the writer of Jackie Brown. That was during the exact same time of this interview - I was like "No way you're renting that trash". 🤣
This interview in its own right is a masterpiece. Director : Chemistry between certain people
Thank you Quentin you made my favourite movie
You could order the Bruce Lee track suit from any martial arts magazine from the early 80's.
My brother bought one in the early 80s during the martial arts craze then he turned to religion and gave everything away damn he could have left it all to me lol .

Hateful 8 is way better.
@@Robert-xk9no ehhh... I liked magnificent 7 better.
Inglorious basterds is also a masterpiece
Worst movie ever....unless you’re white
@@sharkkeeper01 Eh... Maybe you're right. Although I know of a black guy who found it great. Now if the slave didn't get to fuck up all the whites up then I'd understand.
The way Quentin said Dodgy sounded just like a British person. I couldnt tell if that was intentional lol

He has that habit. You should see him when he's interviewed by a black host and he starts talking black. It's quite common for creative types to have that sort of mirror syndrome.
