Im 19 and I've got a few quotes to see how much insurance would cost for a 125cc motor bike and every time it comes to over 3000 pounds! I have no idea how it could be this insanely expensive...
Sadly it’s getting more and more difficult for young people to get on the road. Keep searching… try changing the level of cover (eg down to 3rd party only). Be sure to add all security devices you have. What bike is it specifically?
@@FabMotorbikes the bike i was looking at getting insured is a hanway raw 2019 125cc. Do you know of any 125cc cafe racer style bikes that might be cheaper to insure? Thanks for the advice :)

im 20 and just done my cbt on the 16th dec. my first bike is a 1993 honda ns125r and with third party only is 624 a year or 769 a year but as monthly payments its alot cheaper than i thought. thank for the help!

I've bought an YZF125 2022 and I am 21 years old at the moment I have checked many quote sites where they charge me literarly between 3.584 to 5.893 for each year after checking the names of the sites your given me out I had huge amount of discounts on my quotes.

Great video but unfortunately, wasn't able to get a cheaper quote for my second motorbike (upgrade from 125 to F800GS A2 restricted, was quoted 2k insurance for the 300cc one). 22 y/o in London, had to pay 1.6k for TPFT with 1ncb and the chunkiest chain known to man. When I purchased the bike 3 months ago I was getting quotes of 1k but now magically has increased 😥 Not many can afford this and its ridiculous. One point was considering selling it all and just using an electric bike but that wouldn't be as fun/practical😂
Sorry to here. BMW are notoriously expensive to insure unfortunately. Also A2 license will add to the cost along with you’re age. In 2 or 3 years it should drop considerably. Glad you managed to get on the road though 👍
Guys look for insurance for a few bikes before you make your final decision on what bike to go for. If the bike is £2k and insurance is £3k, can you afford it? If not then look for another bike which has £700 in insurance. I recently got a quote of £400 and the bike was £450 and all it needed was me to change some plastic panels which I did myself for £100.
Plus if you can, do uber eats or something to pay off the bike finance.

@@FabMotorbikes not even started yet but i bought all the gear as couldnt borrow during covid to take the CBT, and then time has passed since. Was thinking of getting a basic 125cc and commute to work as an alternative to taking the car. I figure I can lower insurance premiums by ensuring the bike has some sort of security.

Very strange. Sometimes the parameters make no sense… but it also means it can be beneficial to have a play around with the parameters and putting down all info even it makes no sense in regards to the type if cover you are after.

Generally the smaller the engine the cheaper the insurance. It’s hard to say which is the cheapest. But in the other hand… if you want to ride a 125cc bike. Sometimes manual bikes (with clutch and gears) can be cheaper to insure because they are more difficult to ride and therefore steal.
I’m 17 and have a sym jet 4 125 I’ve tried multiple times to look at quotes but keep getting the same 1.2-1.5k for regular third party insurance any tips on how to get it lower it’s very odd as I’ve had my provisional since I turned 16 and have already completed my CBT
Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately at your age it’s tough to get insurance at a good price. I had similar problems in my teens.
Sometimes the 3rd party fire and theft can weirdly be cheaper. And try adjusting the voluntary excess, the more you volunteer to pay in the event of an accident the lower the cost will be (of course this comes with risk)

I find moving regularly to a new company keeps costs down. New customers get a special price. But worth checking out both your current and new insurance provider prices 👍
Hi Fab, am over 35 've got a BMW F800S which ve never been on before but am looking to get my CBT( first ine)& all the way to a full license which when i succeed categorizes me as a new rider. If am able to get a garage & other security measures on the bike like Trakking etc what do reckon these insurance vampires could be looking to claw off me?😊

Can’t say off the top of my head. I will day though that BMWs are notoriously expensive to insure as they’re quite desirable. And unfortunately on paper a “new rider” is a new rider to the insurance. Even if you are not 18.

Same bro. Tried to get mt07. Absolutely no one was willing to insure me 😅 had to settle for a tmax 530, was a struggle to wheelie at first but I’m here eventually. Hoping to get an mt07 when I turn 20 in a few months
