The LibreOffice office suite will only be better when it implements a good responsive layout system, as this feature is still not good in the current system. But we know the difficulty of developing free software without general financial support and a small team, so what is being done is very amazing, congratulations.

Hi! There's so much shared code between the components, that it doesn't make much sense to split them up (not without a lot of duplication). That's why we only provide LibreOffice as a complete suite.

If you're on Linux, yes you have to completely uninstall the 7.5 version. For me worked great this quick and easy tutorial (czcams.com/video/0Ia9ymxIYWM/video.html )

Una recomendación, libre office debería sacar un apartado como en Windows de "REFERENCIAS" pues para un trabajo, ensayo o investigación es necesario citar e insertar las lista de tablas, anexos o gráficos; pues si bien existe en Libre oficce es mucho trámite, tiene tantas cosas que se pierde al momento de realizar una cita, así que sigan mejorando y es mui humilde opinión, me gusta utilizar muchas distros en linux, pero lamentablemente por mi trabajo me toca quedarme en windows por ciertos programas, un fuerte abrazo a todos los desarrolladores
Existe desde hace varias versiones, hay que cambiar al modo de vista de pestañas.

I bought a new computer with Windows 11 installed, but no matter what I do, I can't open my files with LibreOffice. I need to first open the program, then click on the open option to select the file. How can I solve this problem?

Excel is part of Microsoft Office. If you mean LibreOffice Calc, then yes!
Uma sugestão que poderia ser a virada de chave para o LibreOffice seria se houvesse uma função de escritor, digo, diagramação de texto semelhante no Scribus.
No Scribus, tem a opção de formatação da primeira e da ultima linha, No LibreOffice tentei adaptar para atender minha necessidade de diagramação, mas não deu certo.

Please make the "Italian Language Pack" installer optimized for the Apple Silicon Mac chips (M1, M2, etc...). A friend of mine doesn't want to use Rosetta 2 and switched to another free Office program

@@libreoffice-tdforg You didn't understand. The main program in english language is for Apple Silicon, the italian language pack installer isn't... I don't know other language packs, since we are italians, we tried the italian language pack and it needs Rosetta to run. Why don't you make it automatic from the language of the operating system? LibreOffice should install the relevant language pack automatically without asking and without the user downloading and installing it manually... like other office suites do, and they do, believe me ;) There are no separate language packs in other Office programs. You should improve this thing. Thank you!

I'm using LibreOffice 7.5.9 (late 2023 release, i think). What's nuts is that when i print, the page size is incorrect. Like, if I'm working with a paper size of Folio or Long Bond (8.5" x 13") set in Format > Page, when it comes time to print, the page size is again set to A4. Changing it to 8.5" x 13" does nothing. I have to export to PDF before i can print it properly or i have to go to Printer Settings and manually set the page size to 8.5" x 13" to make the preview correct. However, setting the page size in Printer Settings to, say, Legal (8.5" x 14") again sets the preview to A4.
Anyone else having this issue? I hope you guys fix this. Thanks.
Hi! The LibreOffice 7.5 branch is no longer maintained. Please update to 7.6 (or even better, 24.2) and see if it's still an issue. If so, please then ask the community on ask.libreoffice.org

Hello, good evening, I am writing to you to ask questions, I want to know if the program is safe, open source as you have said. My problem in my country is that I cannot pay for a Microsoft Office 365 subscription for economic reasons and I need a program where I can open documents and edit them without any problem. Is it recommended and can both private users and students use it? I have decided to download version 7.6.5 to see how it works. Also, do I have to uninstall and reinstall another version when new ones are released or is the program itself updated automatically? Can I download it on multiple computers?
I want to have the peace of mind that it works and I can use it for what I need. I write all this in English because I don't know if they speak Spanish because I know they are an organization from Germany. If everything works perfectly for me, you know I will be satisfied. I am curious about something. As I have recently noticed, Libre Office is free unless you install it from the Microsoft store. Microsoft charges five bucks.
I have used LO forever and I will never switch. That said, why is MS charging us?

Great, always better! Too bad for Base which now seems abandoned to itself. I know the main problem is the availability of programmers, but it would be nice if LibreOffice integrates some open source program that has similar functionality to AppSheet, but for LibreOffice

Plenty of noise, no explanations, everything moving too fast.
When I click "Format," the option for "Themes" doesn't even appear and there is no explanation how to show it, not here, not in the documentation. With Version 7.6.1 and its off-line help installed, the actual help file appearing is that for version 7.5.
Wish I hadn't upgraded - might downgrade.
Found today, that the download page delivered a UK English program file and a US English help file! Got a UK help file now, but might still downgrade.
The download page defaulted to a 32 bit installation, too, which must have misled lots of people.
Further update Septermber 28:
After serious problems with versions 7.5.6 and 7.6.1, versions 7.5.7 and 7.6.2 were released early, so I tried to escape forward from a bad version.
Moving to version 7.6.2. I find that "Format" still doesn't have the option for "Themes", that the program has forgotten all my preferences for English sentence checking, and that the file for off-line help supplied amounts to all of 2 KB!
Version 7.5.5 was brilliant. I wish I had kept it and will probably return to it, never to upgrade again.

Hi! We guess you haven't tried the tabbed user interface that we introduced a few years ago 😉 You can find it via View > User Interface in the menu...
@@libreoffice-tdforg Thanks. I will point out this tip when I try Libreoffice, but nowadays in 2024 I think it should come by default and then if a user wanted to regress the layout to office 2000 they would have more knowledge about these changes.

200 million people around the world use LibreOffice, including many companies and organisations. The UK government even standardised on Open Document Format, LibreOffice's native format...
@@libreoffice-tdforg I know LibreOffice and its history very well. It has its roots as StarOffice in Germany (Lüneburg and Hamburg). I have gone the whole way since StarOffice 5.1a until today. And I am great fan. In the beginning still under Windows. Since more than 20 years under Linux until now.
I have never regretted it and use LibreOffice also on different company notebooks, on which my respective employers has "of course" MS-Windows and MS-Office preinstalled. Unfortunately, this is common practice in Germany.
But don't let it get you down. I am firmly convinced that this MS monopoly can be broken by Open Document Format, the TDF and LibreOffice of course. Stay with it! 👍
And EU also has the Open Document as base for document exchange. Unfortunaly in the schools (payed with EU funds) everyone uses MS office, since Microsoft offers free licences for students and teachers. When they leave school they are too lazy to try anything else.

Version 7.6.3 has been released a few days ago. Version 7.5.5 was a 5-star program - 7.6.3 barely deserves a single star!
In addition to all problems not fixed, a further one has been introduced, as a feature! The method for entering ASCII characters, fixed since the days of DOS (!), is now broken, on purpose. +1, +2 etc. are now keyboard shortcuts that seemingly can't be disabled, either.
Anyone accustomed to typing the m-dash (-), the ellipsis (…), various accented characters and mathematical symbols that way will find the program behave erratically every few lines, including starting unwanted operations that take minutes to complete.
I see little hope of this being reversed and have uninstalled the application, reinstalling the earlier functioning version. I will start looking for other applications to replace it completely.
I was too pessimistic: The +1 etc. problem has actually been solved in Version 24.2. 24.2.1 has come out yesterday and I tried it on a little-used laptop. I have to test it a little more. If I don't find any big new problems, by the time 24.2.3 is released it might be suitable for the computer that has most of my work on it, which I UP-graded from 7.6 to 7.5 many months ago.
Avoid Version 7.6 - it sucks! Install 7.5.9 and you'll be alright. Install 24.2 and there is every probability things will turn out well, too.

What the heck is this? Are you trying to make a rock video or a video about a writing program? It's not working on either level. That music is too intense and the action on the screen is going by too quickly. Why isn't there a voice over explainging what we're seeing?

@@libreoffice-tdforg I was just looking for a new writing program since WPS went to AI and it's dreadful but most of your videos are 2 to 4 years old. This was the newest one I could find and YIKES it didn't work for me. No worries there are a lot of writing programs out there for me to choose from.
Боле убогого говна не отыскать. Этот редактор схем создан не работать, а страдать. У разработчиков стоит задача, что бы чем можно больше сделать такой функционал, от которого пользователь будет разработчика проклинать и материть всеми грязными словами от каждой минуты пользования этим говном!
