So I’m not quite understanding. If the Teleprompter was different than the script, then why didn’t he just read off the teleprompter instead of trying to remember his lines?

A teleprompter only helps with the memorization of a script if you forget some parts, but trying to read a brand new script line to line on a teleprompter is not as easy as it sounds, especially when it's on the spot. The pacing of your speech will almost always not line up with the speed of the teleprompter and it only makes you look really unnatural and awkward trying to wait for what the next line says.

One follows a topic that the anchor (professional) can lead based on the key points of the script and recent information that's given to them whether that's by teleprompter or paper. Just because it's breaking doesn't mean they turn on the cameras and expect the anchors to blindly read through an unread script line to line naturally, it's just not possible unless you want to sound like a robot with no structural flow. The other is about presenting a game to exactly how the developers want, with planned scripts connecting to other presenters and following a strict order/timeline so that they don't intrude on other presentations. You can't compare these two together and accuse me of not knowing how "news works" like as if the news anchors are doing what jesse, or most people couldn't do. And like you said no one should expect him to nail a brand new script live just by reading a teleprompter which was my point to begin with

When we are not very confident in what we are doing anything can take our balance. I think that the company should have trained him better. Script or Scriptless, with diferent types of crowd. We can go on and speculate the what-ifs of his psyche or reliability of the story (which I highly doubt he'd lie about in a public video), but in the end that's all it is, a speculation.

The script and the Teleprompter wasn't alligned, the woman told him he wasn't supposed to be on for awhile, and when he tried to read the teleprompter it wasn't the stuff that was on it the first time. Tbh, it was handled extremely poorly by EA.
