    I told my daughter I am feeling great, when she called me yesterday to check on me, since my injury ( MD. Surgeon ) I told her how I implemented a new Mind/Body technique I learned about.
    She said that when they tell patients this after surgery. They don’t buy it. They want to continue to believe the surgery didn’t work yet.
    I told some friends at lunch yesterday who noticed how I’m not in pain limping around and stiff etc. - that I learned about the mind/ body connection and implemented it and it worked.
    They pretty much laughed at me ( lol) as they complained about their pain and could barely walk out of the restaurant. Using canes etc. Only one of them “ got it “ somewhat. She does try to dismiss her issues more often.
    Anyway- I realized that some people won’t understand and would rather live believing they are “ aging “ and supposed to act “ old “.
    I have younger friends who I walk and swim with etc. Thank God !!
    I had my girls late in my life and I have kept up with them ( hiking, moving, etc ) They always said I’m stronger than them.
    Until my recent fall/ injury.
    But now I’m back ! Thanks to you Dan 👍
    So maybe it would be good to do a video on how to tell people we want to help share this with- to help them.
    As of now- there’s only a few people that will “ get it “.
    I don’t care what people think of me. I know who I am. And I like who I am. So that doesn’t bother me.
    But I do feel sorry for people in pain - being the empathetic person I am.

    I find this so interesting how you say stop fixing yourself all day. I totally agree but a lot of brain re training programs employ this. "Do this step by step visualisation" (or something similar) 50 times a day, everytime you have a "bad thought or sensation". Didn't work for me and that's where I gave up 2.5 years ago when I first tried a tms approach. So glad I found you. I now employ only 2 techniques (well kinda 3): 1. Your teachings of safety and indifference as best as I can 2. Nichole Sachs journalling whenever I feel I want to release something emotional. 3. I meditate whenever I feel like it, but this is a habit I truly enjoy and have built over years. The latter 2 have become self-care techniques for me, not necessarily "fix me" habits. Something that truly had a positive impact on my mental well being and has created some "space" between me and my reaction to perceived danger.

      Exactly, me too, I do yoga nidra and meditation, also journal once in a while! This calms my nervous system I believe, because I feel better and better. So I’m not sure I agree totally with Dan here. I try to teach my brain that I am safe also!!!

      I do a 20 min meditation every morning and I love it. I know when I do yoga I start to feel blocked energy released. I do visualisations but in pain it can be difficult to focus as if you have no pain sigh…little steps count towards healing. 💜

    Haha! I scored 50 out of 50 on your PDP test Dan. Even though I have improved so much over the past few months of watching your videos, I was wondering why my eyes suddenly went blurry today, sluggishness and tiredness returned, and dizziness suddenly appeared again. In watching this video for reassurance, I realised I had feared going up the stairs to my art studio this morning. And that I'd have to face the people I haven't been able to teach for 18 months... I took the test again and can already feel the symptoms subsiding. Thanks you for being a constant part of my journey ❤

    Dan, I really needed this reminder today. I’m “in it” right now and things are not improving. I’m working very hard to “fix it”. I’ve had compelling proof the last two days, for example, today I went on my morning walk, 20 mins around the block. Deep sciatic 🍌, butt-cheek 🍌, got back into the house, didn’t sit down, then literally nothing, walked back to the store, like 5 mins, nothing. I’m going to re-group here, thank you.

    Top notch advice!
    Once I began engaging in life and my favorite activities (difficult at first) my pain suddenly decreased and disappeared. Thank you Dan Buglio for all your videos. They continue to be the key for my healing. I realized I don’t have to dig in my past trauma. Telling my brain I am safe NOW in the present is KEY and moving on with my life. If I can do it, you can too! ❤

    12th thing is DON’T give up ♥️!!! I literally did all the mistakes in this video and now I only need to work on no longer thinking about this whole thing altogether! If I can go to 80-95% recovered in 6-12 months from having multiple horrific symptoms, YOU can also do it - Stick to Dan’s approach 🙏🏻

    Thanks Dan, I like the list video's: it helps me to check where I am on track and where I can make improvements in my approach. For this list, I find it really hard to not talk about the symptoms, especially when my husband comes home and we ask each otherr about our day and I wasn't able to do almost anything because of a flare up. Giving up talking about it is also giving up receiving some comfort when it's hard.

      I understand that completely. It is hard for me to not talk about or show pain when I’m in it 24/7. I recently told my husband that I’m doing mind/body work and asked him to hug me every day and please remind me I’m safe and everything is going to be ok. I also told him I don’t want to talk about my pain. Our whole relationship is so awkward right now 😂 but I’m determined to change the way I’m handling chronic pain and illness because what I’ve been doing for the past three decades has not helped. It is hard to change so completely and not yet be 100% sure it will even help but what is the alternative? That’s how I’m looking at it. ❤

    Personally I just love listening to your insights, knowledge & wisdom in any format...however if I had a preference I would say the topical style is more my cup of tea...having said that, lists are super helpful, clear & a simple way of getting a lot across so I'm good with them too! Also meditation for me is more of a self care thing. I find it helps keep the mindset straight & affords detachment from identifying with certain thoughts & or thinking patterns.

    I went through the "Curable" twelve week program,after it was complete the group wanted to remain together for weekly one hour sessions.
    I was amazed at how quickly they would revert back to a physical condition instead of TMS.
    I tried to steer them back to no avail. I soon stopped the meetings.

    Thank you for the friendly reminders, Dan! Today I realized I’m slacking off on watching your daily videos, and I really still need the reminders. For instance today you reminded me to not be scrolling the groups about my specific issue (Long Covid) because my true issue is a highly sensitive nervous system and PDP. Your videos really set me up for a better day (that and a few other things I do that help me handle PDP much better). To answer your question, I benefit from both types of videos -the “list” ones and the ones where you focus on one thing. Also, the interviews with people who have recovered are also so helpful 😊. Thanks again so much !!!

    stop watching the Calendar is my favorite one! I find myself and others thinking or saying - just have to get to this point to be happy etc etc, living in the now is one of the keys 🔑 we are safe.. NOW not later or yesterday ❤️

    This was incredible thanks Dan! ❤ I really resonated with the stop trying to fix yourself. In this mind body space as you mentioned you can get into rumination, perfectionism, and putting too much pressure on fixing yourself or doing the tools all day everyday and properly in order to get better.

    Hi Dan I just want you to know that I appreciate you so much for making these videos You have no idea ….❤ i keep bouncing back and forth with both TMS and dizziness it’s annoying..😢 I’m literally back-and-forth with your channel and Dr. yonit’s channel. My main struggle is letting the fear consume me. My world is really small right now and I hate myself for it. It’s the little things that I beat myself up from not being able to go to my children’s school events my children’s dentist appointments etc ..This is a sucky place to be….😢

    Since you ask. Both the lists and the more specific topic video’s are good for me. In this case of ‘stop doing …. ‘ I recognize a few not helping things such as catastrophising , monitoring symptoms (a hard one), fixing myself, talk about my symptoms (but less than before), watching the calendar and a very important one: being in a non mind body group. I already left groups about depression and medication withdrawal but I run a menopause group with a few thousand women myself. Sometimes mindbody is a topic, but it’s mostly about talking about symptoms and fixing them. So I’m not sure how to deal,with this for a lot of women with menopause issues find it a safe space to ventilate. I consider introducing more mindbody into this group.

    i feel like I was very close to achieving this without realizing it. I've had chronic GI problems for 4 years. as soon as i scheduled to get my gallbladder removed in the hopes of fixing things I stopped thinking about my symptoms and worrying about when it was going to end I started feeling wayyy better and I could eat foods I hadn't been able to eat for years. a couple of weeks past my gallbladder removal I started worrying after one tiny slip up and fell down the deep end and now I'm back where I started pain wise. thanks for your videos I'm excited to learn from them and achieve what I know is possible now

    Hey Dan.
    I haven’t been working out for months due to constant palpitations and arrhythmias. I had my heart checked and bloods were all fine but for some reason I couldn’t shift these palpitations and it was causing me a great deal of stress. I have always suffered with anxiety since a child and for the past year I was dealing with a very toxic relationship, which of course didn’t help. When she’d stress me out my heart would go out of rhythm so badly it would drive me to the hospital. It got so bad I stopped working out cause I associated it with my palpitations.
    Anyways, it’s been 3 months we’ve been apart now and I was beginning to recover, to a point where I wasn’t having a single palpitation, I’d say I felt 90% better, however I started working out a few weeks ago and taking creatine, (something I’ve always associated with causing my palpitations) and lo and behold, I’m back to where I was months ago. I can’t seem to calm my heart down.
    I feel like my symptoms may be very much TMS related but I don’t know what to do Dan. Please, what do you think?

    Dan thanks so much for your daily reminder. When I listen to this I realize that for me the hardest part is to stop monitoring my symptoms. Do you have any recommendations how to do that? The thoughts are so automatic.

    Your videos are very healing. I’m new with all of this but understand Dr. Sarno is the sort of “grandfather” of mind/body issues. I’m not sure how to view Sarno’s idea that we do need to journal/uncover old roots of our pain (especially childhood) versus just get on with our lives.

    Thanks Dan. So I guess that means if there are moments where catastrophizing thoughts pop up, we can just not take them so seriously ("indifference") and with that let the brain know that its safe to let the fear of catastrophe go bit by bit. Would you agree?

    What about therapies, like chiropractic, pt, stretching and straightening core? Does doing those send the wrong message or are they more like getting back into regular living?

    What if I’ve just had a treatment by the osteopath and I’m in a lot of pain. My limbs are incredibly heavy should I still ignore it or wait a few days for inflammation to go down? Thanks

    I’ve been watching awhile and slowly getting there…one thing I get confused about is when you say tell your brain and your brain is thinking ‘why is Dan doing all these things to minimize symptoms’ etc…I get mixed up about this. I’m talking to my brain now quite a bit telling it to be calm and that I know I’m actually safe etc,..but I keep feeling like my brain is this other entity watching everything I do. So…now I’m always feeling like this “MY BRAIN” is separate from me. 😂 Do you know what I mean? Aren’t we really just talking to ourselves? Idk how to ask it exactly but I’m kind of thinking who am I actually talking to when I say “hey brain”?

      I picture my brain like an innocent hard worker. Its job is to keep me safe but it doesn’t understand how exactly and doesn’t know it’s creating more issues than solutions (like baking with a 4yo). I don’t know how to explain it but I definitely treat it like a separate entity from my consciousness and talk to it the way I might to a kid who thinks they’re helping.
      Where I run into difficulties is ignoring or not focusing on symptoms. I haven’t learned how to disregard screaming pain. I try to distract, even something like focusing on brushing my teeth but I can’t help but be aware of the constant siren of pain. This is a tricky one for me to crack

      @@jb2385 thank you. I’m with you- when the pain is screaming that’s when it helps me to talk to myself, my brain out loud. Even hug myself or rub my own shoulder and treat myself like I would a loved one. Soothing, safety, comfort… it’s a journey I know. Day by day. Minute by minute really at this point but I know we can do this!!
