    THANK YOU! My husband bought an electric pressure cooker, but it came with poor directions. You made using it so simple, not just how to use it, but why it works the way it does. As I was watching, I started it up to make a recipe for basic shredded chicken and I wasn't surprised by the sounds and sights going on because you explained everything so well! I immediately liked this video and subscribed to your channel! Thank you again!!

    Nice demo, one can cook sweet potatoes in a microwave oven in around 10 minutes on high power, no waiting time for the pressure to drop and no waiting time for the pressure to build up, just 10 minutes and they're done.

    • @FoodChainTV

      You would have to cook the rice and the beans separately. You cannot pressure cook them together. By the times beans cook, the rice would be obliterated.

      I purchased a MOOSOO electric pressure cooker. It doesn't allow changing the time to cook meat. This is puzzling to me as more meat should take more time and less meat should take less time. But I've never used a pressure cooker so perhaps the rules are different. My beef did turn out yummy!

    Hi Chef Cristian
    I'm using a stove top pressure cooker but I think I've been doing it wrong for years. I use the nr 2 setting on the pressure release valve and when the food is cooked I slowly push it back with a spoon to nr 1 and then to the end? Is this why I sometimes run out of liquid in my pot?

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 4 lety

      You want to use one setting for the entire cook. And if you're running out of liquid, you probably need to put more liquid in there to begin with. Remember that what cooks the food is the superheated liquid, so the food has to be covered in liquid in order to cook.

    Can I make a bone broth on electric pressure cooker ?
    How many hours ?

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can make bone broth in a pressure cooker.
      - Beef bone broth can be cooked on high for 2 hours.
      - Chicken bone broth for 45 minutes.
      - Add a little cow's feet or pig's feet in any bone broth for extra collagen.
      In both cases, add a little bit of apple cider vinegar to the water to get some of the calcium out of the bones.

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 4 lety

      The Cuisinart Pressure cooker cannot sous vide. If you want to properly sous-vide, you will need to buy a sous-vide. There are no pressure cookers that can properly control temperature like a sous-vide machine can.

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 3 lety +2

      The dark colored pot is a Teflon-coated pot. The Teflon will eventually break down. The other pot is polished stainless steel - it will remain in good condition much longer than the Teflon pot and is of higher quality.

      You can experiment with less time on the pressure cooker. Or, just boil them in a regular pot while checking them frequently until your desired texture is reached. No need to use the pressure cooker.

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 3 lety

      An electric pressure cooker will have an indicator that the pot has come up to pressure. Consult your instruction manual. For most pots, the timer will start counting down. This is an indication that the pot has come up to pressure.

    • @FoodChainTV
      @FoodChainTV  Před 4 lety +1

      If you leave it on WARM after the cook time, the food will keep cooking and may over-cook. This is a video about how to use a pressure cooker. If your pressure cooker has a slow cooker function, see your instruction manual for how to use it. Otherwise, use a slow cooker to slow cook.

    The name of the game is versatility,it's horses 🐎🐎🐎 for courses,Pressure cookers and Slow 🐌 cookers have there place in the kitchen,it's all down to time and personal preference in the method you want to choose and the results you require in the taste and texture in the food you cook,if you are out all day the Slow cooker is ideal,especially the new delay digital slow 🐢cookers on the market today they add a totally new dimension and versatility to cooking,the pressure cooker is fast and efficient in what it cooks,but you have to be around in the kitchen when it is in use as the cooking time can be very short indeed,again it's down to preference and what you want to achieve .

      Also, cook the rice on high pressure for 5 minutes. Turn the unit off and let the pressure dissipate naturally. Perfect rice.
