I actually got to see them live, on my birthday, with the full Orchestra- i had goosebumps the entire evening. One of my greatest concert experiences, ever. They played the entire Days of Future Passed album, along with several other gems..

The 25th anniversary tour of Days of Future? I saw the tour at the Gorge in George, Washington.... what an amazing concert experience!
In 1968 I was in the third grade and my music teacher would play this record and put the words up on the overhead projector and the whole class would sing this , I was 8 years old and this brought tears to my eyes , I'm 62 now !

My first big date in while a Junior High student around 1967 was to take a girl to see Moody Blues at the Fillmore East, NYC. A subway ride from Brooklyn and we had an experience of a lifetime.
This symphonic performance of the iconic classic was stunning!

If I was in a band and had to follow that, we’d just sneak out to the bus and leave town 😂. Perfection.
They also had a great concert out in Red Rocks in Colorado as well with a full orchestra. I got to see them in Dallas in the 90s. They were active from 1964-1974 and then 1977-2018. So they recently quit after two of the band members crossed over. They were so talented and I considered them my spiritual band growing up, their lyrics were just magical. So they had an orchestra and ELO had a small orchestra all the time so yay for both!

Nights In White Satin is one of the all-time best songs. Add in the Orchestra and the magic of Justin Hayward's voice and you have one of the best classic songs of the 60's/70's.

I am so happy that I was 20 years old when "Nights in White Satin" and their album "Days of Future Passed" came out and I bought it right away. I was a teen and in my early 20s when all this phenomenal music of the '60s was at its height. Music was just so amazing then and I still listen all the time to all of it. I STILL get goosebumps whenever I hear "Nights in White Satin" always sends me in another place.....so many memories flood back, both happy and sad.
What a hauntingly but beautiful love song about requited love.

It's still so mind-boggling that this song was written while in their late teens.
The Moody Blues were one of the rock pioneers of the 'concept' album.
I was lucky to have seen them perform a couple of times, but never with a full orchestra, and my, how extra-wonderful that must've been! ❤

This is The Moody Blues late in their career. Years ago, I saw The Moody Blues LIVE and got to see them do this son g live. I recommend you do the song: NEW HORIZONS by them. It is another hauntingly beautiful song by them. AND if you want a real rocker by them I recommend: THE STORY IN YOUR EYES.
So keep in mind that this performance was about 40 years after the album! They did a phenomenal job here!!

Believe it or not, Midland-Odessa in west Texas oil patch actually has a decent symphony orchestra. The Moodies toured through there in '92 and played the album with the band as the first half of the concert. Suffice to say they'd never received a standing ovation like they got from the rock fans that night
Always best with an orchestra. After all these years he still feels the music. I saw them in '86 with the San Antonio Philharmonic.
I saw them in concert in 1987 in Minneapolis. It was in a fairly intimate theater so they had great backgrounds, lighting and sound. They sounded great in concert. Their biggest hits of that era were "Your Wildest Dreams" and "The Voice".
Imagine a 70 degree, low humidity evening/night at an outdoor Moody blues concert with your local Orchestra playing with them. They sounded just like their recordings. Probably my favorite concert memory!

I saw them live, back in the day. First and only time I ever tried mushrooms. Both were a little mellow for me (MB and mushrooms) . . . but not bad, lol.
