I had a remote that stopped working today. Changed batteries and nothing worked. This video then popped up on my phone. (How strange) followed your video. Restarted firestick, then put batteries in remote. I then pressed a button on remote to confirm still nothing but wow it worked. I did not have to go through the home button holding section. Thank you very very much. Saved me going to buy another remote. I do have one that done the same a while ago and I replaced the remote. Will try resetting it tomorrow to see if I brought a remote for no reason. But thanks

Oh my Gosh, this worked!! My old remote from 2019-2020 started acting possessed pressing apps so fast running across the homepage like crazy and being uncontrollable. I changed the batteries and thought crumbs or dust got under the arrow pad. I was about to throw it away then saw your video. It literally fixed it on the first try. 🎉🎉😅Thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial. Hope it stays activated. I tried to use my new Firestick Lite remote from my bedroom on that livingroom Firestick, but couldn't pair it. Do you know if that's an option.. to use one firestick remote on multiple tvs in the same home? I know there is an app to turn your phone into a fs remote, but I don't want that option. It's nor convenient for when I'm not home or have visitors. Thanks for many feedback.❤

I used a slightly different version and it worked! See below:
Check the batteries: Make sure the batteries are fresh.
Reset the remote: Try these steps:
Press and hold the Left and Menu buttons at the same time for 12 seconds.
Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds.
Remove the batteries from the remote.
Plug in your Fire TV and wait for the screen that says the remote can't be detected.
Put the batteries back in the remote.
Press the Home button on the remote.

Guys take some vinegar and clean the batter terminals and let it dry! Put the batteries back and should work
