This has nothing to do with Murkomen or Gachagua or Ruto. These fellows found Nairobi located where it is. We should blame a fellow called Engineer George Whitehouse. In around 1898, this mzungu fellow put up a train station in Nairobi and thus founded Nairobi, despite calling Nairobi 'an endless marshland', which means that Nairobi was flooding when there was not a single house built there. So it is like we built Nairobi in a lake and every time it rains, the lake fills up.
That's a lame excuse. We have had some 60 years to make up our mind whether to relocate the capital city of not. Endless blame games will not help. Either we stay on and develop a drainage system adequate for our situation or we relocate the capital city to another location. Are you also going to blame colonial powers for leaking roofs? Why are Africans so fond of passing the blame. What good comes out of blame game? Come on! Let whoever is responsible for this do what needs to be done.
