As a 20+ years NW fan I have to say it takes guts courage to make a NW cover and it takes talent to make it that good.

My first thought too, taking on Nightwish is not something most people can handle but PG did a really good job!
Well done! “Who dares wins.” as the motto goes. And dittos for having the courage to tackle a NW song. They are easily the current hardest act to follow.
I heard plenty of covers, and most of them are missing that special sound NW has. PG hit that very well here!
And also to slay the vocal part!

As someone who grew up with nightwish and Imaginarium being one of my all time favourite albums, you absolutely nailed your rendition got goosebumps, please provide us a full length version

I just did a quick experiment, downloaded this short song, removed the instrumental, downloaded Nightwish's original song, removed the vocal, and replaced it with Patty's.
Turned out, it fits perfectly with the original instrumental.
(as it's 162 BPM, but works very nice at 81 BPM too, which is the exact tempo of Patty's version)

I used to be a bicycle courier in Budapest when this song came out...and always finished my day shift riding back to home to this.
It was a harsh winter and slaloming through endless lines of cars on steep, frozen descents with ~50 km/h while listening to this masterpiece was a great experience I would be happy to relieve.
But your version is a masterpiece in its own and thank you for that!

That is a Nyckelharpa, they are used quite a lot in Scandinavian folk music.

@@Aswaguespack Ah, i see. If you like the sound of the nyckelharpa i can recommend you check out Nordman - "Förlist" and "Vandraren". They are a swedish folk-pop band that was very popular in the 90s.

Both instruments have keys to change the pitch of the strings. The Wheel on a Hurdy Gurdy acts the same way as a Violin Bow (or even a Nyckelharpa Bow) in that it spins to bow the strings.
