    Think acetone would clean the sticky on the piezo better.

    I'm trying the Octocone from UFODrums, it gets delivered Friday. Considering doing a video since there's not many repair videos of these on CZcams.

    Great video Tom! I bought a used PD-100 single zone and turned it into a dual zone drum by adding a second piezo (the electronics is already inside the PD-100) following a CZcams tutorial. I bought the piezo from UFO and while I was at it, I also replaced the PD-100 cone with one from UFO. Working great! UFO has very good products.

    I'm not a drummer, but our church has a Roland TD-20 drum kit, and have never changed the cones, SO I am pushing for that! What repair might be needed for the cymbals and hi-hat? Thanks!

      To my knowledge there is nothing that needs to be 'maintained'... other than if the cymbal is acting defective in some way.

    Hello,
    I bought Convertible Percussion cones and they touch the underside of the heads quite firmly, so they seem to peek if struck dead on.

      I am not sure if I know what cones you're talking about, although your assumption is probably correct.

    • @rutledgesan

      The brand is Convertible Percussions. They touch the underside of the heads quite tightly, so they distort if the cone is struck directly. (You can see the white cone through the head) I don't remember seeing the cone when they were new.

    I know this is an old post but I failed to see a conclusion as to how successful were the non-Roland cones!

      Thanks for the comment, you're right, I forgot to mention the playing differences in this video. So, in answer to your question: After using both I really didn't feel much difference at all.

    You had the Roland OEM cones in your hand! Why in the world did you not install them?

      Thank you for asking, I did use the Roland cones in addition to the UFO cone.

      Tom what is the secret to obtaining Roland OEM triggers?

    • @TomBurnsVideos
      @TomBurnsVideos  Před 10 měsíci

      They appear to be slightly elusive at this point. I did see that UFO drums have some piezos in stock, but they're not Roland OEM. I would think that they would work just fine. If you can, give them a call, they are very helpful.
