Shelly Ann has made Jamaicans so proud ...no disappointment ...just love ...
That’s right. We love her nevertheless!!❤
🇯🇲
I think the disappointment is on Paris Olympics as a whole
Love Shelly ❤️ she has done way beyond ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nah, we’re definitely disappointed 😂.
I still cant believe Ive had the privilege of meeting and talking to her, then she came to our table and greeted us again, what an honour, shout out from Kenya
Had a couple classes with her in college. She's just as nice as everyone says she is. Even without everyone watching.
Im a huge sports fan from Kenya. Rugby, NFL, UFC, boxing, Athletics as my main staple. Intentionally being in the stadium in Kasarani and seeing Shelly-Ann run will remain one of my proudest moments. One of the greatest athletes of any generation. No argument.
UP KENYA!!
@@jimmyandtheresurrection7247Too bad Team Kenya did so poorly this Olympics turn, especially the total embarrassment steeple chase event 🙄
Literally the saddest part of sports this year for me. She WOULD HAVE medaled. Making it 5 straight games with medals. Such a shame.
She definitely would've!!!!

You can't see into the future, no one knows if she would have metaled or not.

We also have to be clear that Alfred ran a spectacular race and completely deserving of her gold medal
You got THAT RIGHT!!!!! Totally agree!
TRUE, but would have been more interesting to see otherwise.
Thank you.

I was STUNNED to see ShellyAnn's lane empty. It's an unfortunate end to her amazing career, but she knows her body. Shelly-Ann's legendary status remains intact for me!! I hope she heals and spends precious time with her family now❤️
Not neccessarily an end. She could compete again if she wants. If she let's her leg heal. The oldest competitor in this year's Olympics was 59. She is 37. She could skip next Olympics if she needs to and compete then. 45 is not out of the question to compete, just makes it harder.
It was heartbreaking to see
I just love how you and your team continuously give Shelly Ann her flowers!!! 🌸

Yeah I wonder why, couldn't be anything to do with the gear Jamaican athlete's take could it???

She is 37years old and still competing. Wow!!!
Ummmm, the best BOXING and MMA fighters are older than her. And so many more extreme athletes. Sooooo, 37 is old?
37 is not old. That’s when most women hit their prime. I wouldn’t be surprised if she comes back in LA28 at 41 🔥 you can be at any age and still at the Olympics.
Hard to believe that we didn't see Elaine, Shericka or Shelly-Anne even compete in the semi-finals of the 100 metres.

Making a 37 year old veteran change up the routine and rush the warm up routine is basically the perfect formula for an injury no?
She wasn't the only one. People compete under the same conditions. They make no exceptions for people because of their age. She was just unlucky to get injured. Yesterday I saw two other athletes having to quit because of injury during warm ups. In high jump and pole vault. They were young athletes. Sheer bad luck.😢injury can happen at any time and it's always the wrong time

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a spectacular athletic. I was looking forward to see her run. In injuries both physical and mental happen and sometimes at the wrong time. Biles came came lets hope Shelly-Ann can recover and return.
This saddens me to no end.
Gabby is such an inspiration and I am certainly not surprised shes a woman of faith. Shes a Neurologist, donates her time free to work in a clinic, and she so Talented, kind, and beautiful. I am glad their are still role models like her out there.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce made a smart move by not running in the semifinals. Her legacy was already secure. Plus, she knew the next generation of sprinters is on another stratosphere. By stepping aside, she preserved her health and understood the nature of the game. I don’t think she will run the 200m, so focusing on the 4x100 is a great way to pass the baton, giving it one last go with these newer athletes.
She was not running 200m, u have no clue. Shelly not weak like u , she has been battling hamstring injury all season.
Another stratosphere? Naaaa. She just realised that she needed to give others a chance for them to grow. That's the wisdom of a true champion.

Up until this story, I was unaware she was competing. I watched to cheer for my American team, but was a fan of hers since she was in her first Olympics. She definitely would've been a serious threat this year. What a shame.
They said it wasn’t her health but something behind the scenes with the Olympics themselves. Something to do with the transportation and her taking a private car. They wouldn’t allow her entrance with warm up and practice. Something definitely wasn’t right in this situation, she always shows up.

@@daleviker5884 For the IOC running a completely crap Olympics. Seems like they screwed her by not letting her in the gates in time to warm up right. I know she said that she had time but she didn't even run. She had one of the best times in the prelim and was coasting.
@@rundmmI'm with you. This is complete BS. By the way, the other language of St. Lucia is French.
There isn’t an athlete alive that would cover for the IOC, especially not if they were cheated out of competing. You have, without a doubt, posted the single stupidest take possible here. Every athlete knows when something doesn’t feel right. It’s one thing to say “she should’ve run anyway!” when it’s not your hamstring that’s injured. The 100m dash is a race where NOTHING can go wrong if you want to win. Sha’carri had a bad start and because of it had no chance B of catching up. Shacarri was not allowed to warm- up as well as Shelly Ann and this definitely affected Shacarri’s run.
Her greatness is undeniable. Seeing her in the prelim was a privilege for all track and field fans.
What I think went wrong is the fact that they have two of the fastest runners Shelly-Ann and Shakari in the semifinals. This means that they both would have to run as if they were in a final. This would put too much strain on their bodies, especially Shelly-Ann because the final would be within the next two hours. This does not give them enough time to recoup.
