Did not set the signature line. It was the catalyst for Nike to actually create a unique shoe. MJ didn’t like the II’s.
Definitely get your point and the fact that MJ wasn't a fan of them but he set a scoring record in them as well as they were famous for MJ winning his first dunk contest. On the other hand, without the 2, there wouldn't be a 3 and so forth, so no matter how you look at it, the 2 is definitely a pioneer in the signature lineup and thankfully is still in production today while some other silhouettes are not.
