    I couldn’t make out everything you said but what I did get I used what I had closest to it and man it’s good. The garlic settles down with the simmering as the peas swell and soften. I had fresh garlic so I ran it through the food processor with the tomato and onion and I didn’t have a potato so it didn’t get added

    It's d e l i c i o u s ! But how long does it take you people cooking this? This is the third time I'm cooking it, and when everything is in the pan, under the lid, it takes a t l e a s t 30 minutes cooking time. At least. What's your experience?

    • @EasySteps_Sidhu
      @EasySteps_Sidhu  Před 5 lety +1

      You can cook this in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes and then use tadka or cook in open pan then it will take longer and depending on burner size it may take 30 minutes or longer.
      Thanks, happy cooking.

      @@EasySteps_Sidhu So how come in your video you state that cooking takes only 15 minutes?

    • @EasySteps_Sidhu
      @EasySteps_Sidhu  Před 5 lety

      For me it took only 15 minutes because I have big burners... my gas is 48 inch and all burners are larger sizes and it cooks me less time to cook compared to other gas/range.

    • @michavandam
      @michavandam Před 5 lety +1

      @@EasySteps_Sidhu Thank you for clarifying that. I think this is important information. I think you should tell your viewers the cooking times you mention are based on your own, special big burners. Most people don't have such burners.
      I don't have a pressure cooker, and cooking actually took over an hour! So, I was wondering about the Fiesta split peas as well. Are they different from other brands, maybe pre-cooked? I can't buy them here in Amsterdam.
      Or should I soak them before cooking? But then they absorb tasteless water instead of the delicious broth of your great recipe.

    • @EasySteps_Sidhu
      @EasySteps_Sidhu  Před 5 lety

      soaking is not a bad idea it helps to cook it faster, I agree with your point about explaining this.

  • @sebastiantredinnick5060

    I made this yesterday but cooked it in the pressure cooker for a bit too long so it came out more like a puree. It was really delicious nevertheless.
    Now I need to freeze about half of it because I'll never eat it all before it goes off.
