  • A djembe is a skin-covered hand drum shaped like a large goblet and meant to be played with bare hands.
    According to the Bamana people in Mali, the name of the djembe comes directly from the saying "Anke dje, anke be" which literally translates to "everyone gather together" and defines the drum's purpose. In the Bambara language, "Dje" is the verb for "gather" and "be" translates as "everyone".

      El blues también tiene fuertes influencias de la música Africana occidental y a su vez el blues genero muchos géneros musicales populares. Es increíble hasta donde llegaron sus influencias artísticas.

    I have to confess, I miss Ghanaian drumming so bad. I'm sitting here in Tanzania, and there's a cultural troupe right outside drumming, but there is no comparison. None. It's sad how some have lost their history, or half of it. Nkrumah did one thing right -- he made sure the drums will always endure to talk and sing and praise and admonish and warn and entertain and chastise and frighten and enrich and reassure and incite and calm . . .

    Why did you have to use that crazy make ups? Couldn't you have performed for camera without doing this? Did Selete and other groups make their groups do that for the camera? Think before you do everything for International audience.

  • @ghana11233
    @ghana11233 Před 4 lety

    The face make up is not necessary, what is important is the music. Africa has gone passed the weird looking make ups and costumes. Your drumming is alright. Be natural and learn Kofi Kumkpe, 04, Okyerema Kwamina Prah and all the big name drummers in your region.
