- I got the Tamiya Subaru WRX STI Nürburgring TT02 out for a drive the other day. It quickly turned into a game of smashing into the cones instead of trying to drive the car. The brand-new tires were slick as they could be until the end of the battery pack. It was still fun and no damage to the car, so all is good!
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

Thanks! I am very happy with the car and it did turn out looking great. My plans of some adult, skilled driving quickly reverted into a 12 year old smashing into things but it was so much more fun that way!! To be fair my wife was the bad influence that gave me the idea so it was two 12 year old kids out there!!

Thankfully those cones are super light and I was not worried about hem hurting the body. The commentary from the camera lady was good and she really got me with the "I wasn't recording" bit, I thought we were going to have to set them all again and hit them all with a mostly dead battery! The car is a great looking body and it tuned out very well! I am thankful I don't live on a paved road or I would probably have a lot more of the on-road cars, Tamiya does them very well! You guys have a great weekend!! Oh almost forgot to call you by your new name "Bruce"! LOL! I laughed when Mark could not get it straight!! LOL!

We're the same as you in regards to the on road Tamiya's, they're so good and cheap as chips!. We're definitely keen to get a TT02 though after the speed run challenge, it's been awesome.
Oh that video of Mark and Rob was so funny!!, and hearing our names (many names😂) from the other side of the world was pretty special, same as when you mentioned us in the past👌❤️. Thanks! Those fresh tires had no grip so it was sliding all over and making my poor driving skills even worse so it turned into a game of smash the cones. I am much better not hitting them when aiming for them!!! I was able to slide right through a couple tight spots cleanly when trying to hit them! If I was trying to avoid them i would have hit both cones! LOL!!!! It was a fun run and all smiles and laughs!

Thanks! I used to not car too much as they were going to get torn up anyways but now I can take the time and do them the best I can, or at least the best I can tolerate! At time I still want to rush through parts of it as it is time consuming but I have goofed up enough of them to know when to slow down to avoid ruining things! (well most of the time)

Thanks Mads! The on road car look really cool but I am more of an off-road guy as well! We had a great time out there with it and it went from serious to silly real fast!! Trying to hit them was way more fun than trying to avoid them! My wife has lived with my sarcastic and goofy self for a long time so it was bound to rub off on her at some point. It is very normal for the two of us to be snarky and goofy with each other all the time!
That Subaru looks so good Addam...I also know how long those decals take...so to see you having fun with it makes me think it was all worth it. You have a great camera woman, if i told my wife i was going to record an RC video she would head to the beach without me 😂
Thank Erick! I do love the look of it. These were too bad to put on, thankfully there were not a ton on there that had to connect or overlap each other! I just got the decals on the GT4 the other day and man the rear of that thing was a royal PITA!!! The front went really well but the 75 different ones to do the back were not fun!! I can see why you went with painting yours! My wife doesn't mind going out and recording stuff with me, ask her to go out with me here at the house and not so much! That and she has seen many go around the track so not much interest there. We had a great time out there and many laughs!

Thanks! I really like the way t turned out and once the tires broke in it drove nice too! It took the whole battery pack but it is good now!

Thanks Mark! I love the looks of this one and loved the pan around the car segment of the video! My wife is a spectator at best. She will pick up the controller once in a blue moon but she just likes watching them run. She is very supportive, even with the snarky commentary!

Thanks Pete! It is a great looking car and a fun one to drive. The tires were super slick in the beginning and by the end of the pack they finally were gripping a lot better. It turn to chaos quickly but it was much more fun trying to hit them than it was trying to avoid them!
The body looks great. You may need just a little practice on cone driving. Your assistant's comments were funny and added a lot to the video.
Thanks Michael! It really does look great and I attempted to drive normal for a moment! It was way more fun to smash into them instead of trying to avoid them. The tires were super slick until most of the through the battery so it was a fun way to scrub in the new tires for next time. My wife has a good amount of snarky with her, I mean she has to deal with me being a big man child all day every day so.... She did get me good at the end though!

Glad you enjoyed it Mark! It went from driving around the cones to smashing the cones really fast, her idea but it was a lot of fun! She has developed a very sarcastic and joking nature from having to deal with me and my friends and family for so many years! So this is a daily thing for us giving each other grief! there were lots of laughs and she got me good with the whole "I wasn't recording" thing!!

I tried being serious in the beginning but the new tires were so slick it was hard to drive so I did the responsible thing and just started hitting everything!! It was a lot more fun and those cones are so light I was not worried about them hurting the car. We were both enjoying the change and also the difficulty in which I was having trying to get a few of them. It did lead to a few good drifts in between cones I would not have been able to do it if was not trying to hit them!!! LOL!!

Thank you! I really like the look of this one, they did a great job with the design and the decal sheet to replicate the real one perfectly. We went from responsibly driving around the cones to smashing into all of them almost immediately but that was much more fun to do! Thankfully those cone are so light it doesn't hurt the car at all.

Yeah, she did get me! Not that we have ever had that happen before! I am guilty of it most times since my sunglasses are polarized I cannot see the camera screens at all. When we were at the beach this year I "recorded" about 10 minutes of a 15 minute run with the lens cover on the gopro! I saw the red light and knew it was recording but since I could not see the screen I had no idea it had recorded the back of the lens cover!!

Yeah the driving around the cones stopped and the trying to hit all the cones started quickly. It was encouraged by my wife so I went with it. She was making a dig at herself a little as she is well know for running over curbs leaving parking lots and stuff like that all the time! The cones were harder to hit when I was aiming for them, they were easy to clip when I was trying to avoid them! We did have a great time being two little kids running things over with a a toy car! She did get me pretty good at the end though!!

This was at our local high school last weekend. Our mall may be busy, I am not sure! I have not been over there in probably 2-3 years now! Nothing there but clothing stores and smelly soap places so I have no interest in going in there! Malls went downhill when arcades and record stores went out of business...
We had a great time out there and she was extra snarky that day but we are always going back and forth like that. Lots of laughs out there killing cones!

Thanks Craig! She has lived with my wise cracks and sarcasm for so long it has rubbed off on her! She got me good with the "I wasn't recording" part though! Those tires are super slick until they get scuffed up and broken in! Especially coming straight off of driving on the foam tires of the speed run car!
Wonderful looking Shell Addam, I've looked many times at getting that , but I keep buying hard body shells instead lol but I will get it soon 👍👍,
Thank you! With your paint skills on the hardbody kits I don't blame you! You can get similar results with the lexan ones but you will never get that deep luster you are able to with the exterior painting. This one was a really nice one to do and it does look good. Decals took some time but were not as hard as others i have done, they all went on very well!

Thanks Richard! Since the slick tires was making things more difficult it turned into chaos quickly and we both enjoyed the game of smash the cone! At the end the tires finally had enough traction to drive it better but I was out of battery!

That's Awesome Addam 🎉 RCF4L this is exactly the only Tamiya in my Collection and absolutely enjoy the way it handled, I got it from a fellow tuber already assembled with the box art installed, now it has a Vette Hard body and drift tires and is Awesome to four wheel drift...

Thanks Larry! It is a cool car and I love the looks of it. The tires were so slick being brand new it was too drifty so it quickly went from driving around the cones to trying to smash them all! It was way more fun and by the end the tires had broken in nicely and had reliable grip! It'll still go slideways but in a predictable manner now! Glad you enjoyed us out the goofing off!

Funny enough but I ran this right after the 45mph and it felt so slow! I put the GPS on it and it was going 17.2mph so not fast at all but normal. It still felt like it was running on a dead battery!

As for the film..... it was such a random coincidence.
See, I've never actually watched the film before.... but they had a wide-screen TV in the conservatory and as I was cleaning the glass I saw a csr racing around a track and I thought to myself "Hey, that's Addams car!!!"
Next thing I know the geezas crashed and is running around the track in his under pants!! 🤣 😂

It’s a great looking car! But like you said you can really tell it’s pretty slippy out there on the new rubber. The backend just likes to slip out lol - but awesome idea with the cones!

Thanks! It is a good looking one and it was a ton of fun out there with it! I had intended to run around them but it was much more fun running through them! I still had a hard tie getting a couple of them! She did get me pretty good at the end, I thought she was serious! Not that we have done that before... I recorded about 10 minutes of the lens cover of the gopro at the beach this year! My sunglasses are heavily polarized so with them on I can't see the LCD screens on either camera. I saw the red light on so I thought it was good... it was not... LOL!!

Thanks Jeremey! We both had a lot of fun out there and it went from drive around the cones to kill all the cones very fast! At the end of the run the tires had finally scuffed up enough to where I had reliable grip so next time out it should drive around things better, although the smash cone game is a lot of fun! The zingers and jokes just added to the fun!

I tried to for a moment. Those brand new slicks were very slick and needed to be broken in so it turned into two little kids out there laugh at the the toy smash into things! Much more fun than normal driving for sure!

Thanks John, it turned out looking great and I loved the opening pan around the car in the video, it showed off all the details nicely. The fresh tires were very slick and I was trying to scrub them up in the beginning but it took the whole battery pack before they finally broke in and had traction. I had also just come from driving the the speed run car on the foam tires so these have way less grip to them. So it turned from drive around the cones to hit all the canes game quickly!! The sarcasm from my wife is partly my fault, she has lived with me for a very long time and picked up a lot of that from me so it is very common for us to trade zingers! It was also a joke on here to, she said "you are driving like your wife" as she has been known to run over a curb or two while leaving parking lots and stuff! we had a ton of fun out there and all the laughs were much needed! You are right though, when tryin to hit them I did make some great slides in between some tight spots completely by accident! I am better at not hitting them when trying to hit them, says an awful lot about my driving skills! LOL! That last one was tough, I kept getting so close and just missing it! It was a ton of fun and we both had a great time out there goofing off.
I am pretty sure I just have the Torque tuned motor and 1060 in this one. Nothing fancy in there. Once the tires scrubbed off all the new and and traction it was a lot more predictable then in the beginning where it just wanted to slide all over.

It is good looking one for sure! I am really happy with it and think it would have looked odd with it taller to off road. It went 17.2 mph, I had stuck the gps tracker on it at the end just out of curiosity, did not include it in the video though.
