- Bit late but happy new year! I look forward to uploading some more videos during 2023. We start with another marathon session of the character ironman challenge for a 2nd attempt... the first one we did was awesome and wanted to give it another shot. The individual character challenges quickly proved to be a nearly impossible endeavor, the all character ironman challenge is much more realistic. This was another great session, we hope you enjoy this one.

Bit late but happy new year! This was my first time playing MKW in over 3 months since mid October... đ I look forward to uploading some more videos during 2023. For now, enjoy this marathon session of us reattempting the all character ironman challenge, which we had a very solid first attempt and this session was great as well.

Hope all is well Nick, spring semester is starting and this is helping to ease my nerves, always wanna remind you that your content does good things for us
I went through the trouble of trying to optimize Dolphin for MKW myself a couple of months back, and thought I'd try to help you fix the lag!
The game seems to be running into an issue known as "shader compilation stuttering." Whenever you enter a new area of the track, new shaders are loaded. And if they aren't loaded fast enough, the game will "wait" until they are ready, and you will experience these freezes. The dolphin team has made some great blog posts on their website, if you'd like to know more about how it works. Anyway!
The solution will be to change your graphics settings. If you haven't already, start by changing your "Backend". Direct3D11 or Direct3D12 should give you the best performance. Make sure that your computer's GPU is selected in the "Adapter" field. Next, you're going to want to change your "Shader Compilation" settings. Change it to either "Hybrid Ubershaders" or "Exclusive Ubershaders." You can also turn on "Compile shaders before starting". The game will take slightly longer to boot, but all the shaders will be prepared for when they are needed. You can also try reducing the amount of Anti-Aliasing in the "enhancements" tab, since it is quite demanding.
Depending on your computer, some settings might work better than others. I would therefor suggest that you play around with these specific settings to see what combination results in the best performance! Hopefully both you and Troy can find this helpful! I'm so happy to see you back, Nick! :)
Do you know how to get Mario Kart Wii Online to work on Dolphin by any chance?
@@jameswilliams6846 you will need to patch your WBFS file using the Wiimfi patcher, then you can run the generated file through Dolphin and play online :)

It makes sense. Anyone with lots of experience take many years to rust considerably. With that being said, NMeade stopped playing MKW for years at some point and was *still* a beast, lol. Very impressive
