Memories.... 🖤 Had to walk by this game at my local mall arcade for years to go play my fighting games. This was right by the entrance. I can still hear the "ow ow owwch" echoing in my mind while I was playing the likes of Samurai Shodown 2, Tekken 2, KI, so many others... lol. Great vid.
I just had a flashback to this Blast from the past! Used to play this one all the time at Scandia in Kelowna, BC, Canada. That one wasn't in nearly as good condition as your machine, Because even when you did hit the Gators, you'd still get bit because I swear I could hit all of them, But oh well, still good memories~
Arcade nerd here: it was originally by a company called Data East and Namco designed the gators that was in 1990 around the late 90s it was fully owned by Namco i will just guess Namco bought Data East
@@funecheeseofficial3576 Actually, Data East(which is a game company I already know of, and is one of my favourite classic video game companies) has been defunct for several years since past the 90s, and I don’t recall there ever being an instance of Namco buying or owning Data East!😄
I miss playing this arcade game from when I was a young kid. I remember playing this arcade game a lot in a Chuck E. Cheese place in California, although I don't remember having to use a hammer to smack the gators from back when I was a kid.
Are you sure it not a YM2151 for music and a YM3012 for sounds? Because that's the same setup used on Namco's System 1 hardware, and I doubt it uses the Namco C140 PCM sound chip used on System 2 hardware.
Yet when I first played that and I heard them go "now I'm angry" I was like wait a minute wait a minute I recognize that because my local arcade had this game.
My parents and I used to play this game on the boardwalk arcade in Cape May, New Jersey. Haven’t been there in maybe 15 years. This video brings back memories.
Lmfao!!! "Suck on that" Aaaaaaahhhh the good oldays before cell phones n bullshit social media!!!! Best Birthday Party I ever had. 6th b-day @Mr. Arcade Nanuet ny. 1993 baby
Just played this on namco museum remix because I was bored and saw somebody play gaplus on a stream. Knew all game as were based on something original but didn't know what gator panic was from. Now I know
i’ve had “now i’m angry” stuck in my head for 30 years
Finally, someone who understands!
but from which version?
For me it's that "Ouch!" sound that's been stuck in my head forever. And I think I only played it once! Lol
Same! I say it when I am starting to get irritated, then I laugh and chill out.
Glad I'm not the only one. There was one of these machines at a local mall arcade many years ago. Fun times.
The words: “I’m gonna get you!”
“Ouch!” and “Munch!” live rent free in my head.

The best part is that before the game starts you can hear the attract movie for the Tekken 3 cabinet in the background.
And you can see Cruisin' World in the reflex of the cabinet
"I'm gonna get you".
That made me laugh
See you later Alligator
Dave and busters need to get this game
I remember playing this game in various arcades when I was younger, but I never knew before that it was a Namco game before!😄🤩😎👌

Truth was that Namco licensed Wacky Gator and Cosmo Gang to Data East for North American distribution.
My mom and I used to love this game
The Baby-Sitters Club original show brought me here
You're right! I remember that!
I remember playing this game so much back in Waterville Valley New Hampshire, back when the White Mountain Athletic Club had an arcade
I played this game all the time as a kid. This brought back so many memories. Maybe I should invest in one of those machines.
The Japanese version had high pitched voices.
The English one had deep voices.

The music is played by YM2413 and the sounds are most likely played by MSM6295.
Are you sure it not a YM2151 for music and a YM3012 for sounds? Because that's the same setup used on Namco's System 1 hardware, and I doubt it uses the Namco C140 PCM sound chip used on System 2 hardware.
@Tom L Update: found a photo of the PCB online, it uses an OKI MSM5205 for ADPCM. Was right about the YM2413 though.
I played this game in Barra Shopping Center arcade in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil during my childhood.
Thanks jerma for telling me this exists
Lawsen likes this arcade game gators go ouch ouch
0:15 *I’m gonna get you*

So that's where namco museum mega mix got it from
Yet when I first played that and I heard them go "now I'm angry" I was like wait a minute wait a minute I recognize that because my local arcade had this game.

Is that the one that has Dino at the front?
@@YuukiTakemoto1996 I haven’t been there in so long, I really don’t remember.
We have this game at Putt N Stuff in Orrville, Ohio. The difference is we don't have the mallet because we buy all of our games used.
Oh my, but you gotta play it like the kids use to, smack the hell out of them and get really mental, thats how I remember it 🤣🤣🤣
I was 6 when I played this game.

Excuse me do you know the game of the frog jump with a botton
Frogger?
The arcade game? The International Swamp Olympics!
Featuring Hoppin' Harry and Jumping Jack!
Are you thinking of Lazer-Tron's "Ribbit Racin'" redemption game from 1994?
Was this game made by namco?
Yeah... it was. In Japan, Namco released this as "Gator Panic". Data East took care of the NA release.
i have this machine and the cracky crab
My personal best score on Wacky Gator was 109.
Not Is Wacky Gator Is Wacky Gator Too
Wacky Gator Too And Not Wacky Gator
